Families attending a championship soccer match at Santos Laguna stadium in Torreon, Mexico on Saturday (August 20) had to duck for cover as a violent gun battle took place just outside the stadium.
The game between Monarcas of Morelia and Santos Laguna was halted at the 40-minute mark as players and coaches ran for the dressing rooms.
"This doesn't sound good," the announcer says in Spanish according to the L.A. Times. "Let's hope this doesn't get out of control."
People in the stands can be heard whimpering as the gunshots continued. Luckily nobody was injured, but the incident further illustrates Mexico's continued battle against gun violence.
The Mexican Soccer Federation issued a statement Monday trying to assure fans that going to games is still safe.
"It is clear that the incident that occurred on Saturday at the stadium had nothing to do with internal matters or soccer," Decio de Maria said. "Although it can be improved,[the security] was very effective in controlling a situation that could have turned out much more disastrously,"
Over 40,000 people have been murdered in Mexico over the last five years. Almost all of the killings have been drug related.

T.I. still has several weeks to go before he is released from prison, but according to DJ Drama, the Atlanta rapper has been keeping busy while behind bars.
"TIP's good, I talked to him via e-mail about 2 weeks ago, told him I have a record for him," Drama told Montreality. "He should be home in a couple weeks, he's ready to get back to work. I know he has a book in the works, and definately the music, expect some good records."
Tip's plans to write a book were first revealed last July by Sandra Rose. Those plans were temporarily derailed by his latest trip to prison, but it looks like everything is still a go.
In a letter to his fans last week, the Grand Hustle CEO promised to start from scratch once he's released.
"Next time you hear from me I’ll be back out there with you. Doing for those who can’t do for themselves and speaking for those whose voices are never heard," he wrote. "When I touch down, I’m going all the way back to square one, like I’m fresh in the game and never sold a record. Back on some I’M SERIOUS, TRAP MUZIK sh*t… But until then RESPECT to all who deserve it. I’ll be back at you in a minute."
No word on the type of book T.I. is writing, or a release date. We'll keep you posted.

Kendrick Lamar hit up the Bootleg Kev show recently and blessed the mic with a freestyle over 2Pac's "Hail Mary."
The Compton rapper also talks about his Gucci Mane collaboration and possibly working with Nas in the future.
After the success of 'Watch The Throne' one might think there will be more collaborative efforts between big artists. That may happen, but that's easier said than done.
Getting two or more huge egos to mesh together long enough to deliver a full album is a tall task. Singer Trey Songz has considered the possibility and thinks he could make it work with only one other artist.
"I mean, you got to look at (Kanye and Jay-Z) and see how long it took them to do it, you know? So it has to be organic in whatever way it happen," Trey told The Source. "It can’t be a business decision and you can’t look at it in a way of making it lucrative. I think it has to be something that you are definitely going into for music’s sake. It has to be something real, because if it’s not authentic you can hear it. They’ve been working together for so long and so many tracks together under their belt before this album even came that it’s been very much premeditated. When thinking along the lines of that, Drake is the first person that comes to mind that I am that musically comfortable with in that space. He is a friend of mine as well, and I think we can pull something off like that could sound very authentic."
Drake is currently working on his sophomore album 'Take Care.' Trey is busy putting the finishing touches on his fifth studio album 'Chapter 5.'

Kreayshawn and V-Nasty of the White Girl Mob know how to create controversy.
Already dealing with criticism over their use of the n-word, the two Oakland newcomers are taking on rap's biggest cop, Officer Ricky.
In a freestyle for Philadelphia DJ Cosmic Kev, Kreayshawn spit the line: "You tryin' to play me like a boss? You faker than Rick Ross," an obvious diss at the obese rapper.
When asked about the line by MTV several days later Kreayshawn backtracked, insisting she wasn't dissing Ross.
"I feel like with anything, you're painting a picture. I've never, ever intentionally dissed anybody my whole career, and I don't do that personally with friends either,"Kreayshawn said. "I'm not like a person to go against anyone or anything. So hey, no offense to you Rick Ross. There's no Rick Ross offensive things going on in there, even though it sounds like it."
Now a new video has surfaced showing Kreayshawn watching her MTV interview, then saying how she really feels about Officer Ricky.
"What I really wanted to say is Rick Ross is fake... wanksta," she says. "Can Rick Ross find his d*ck? I bet you $5 Rick Ross can't find his d*ck."
V-Nasty clowns the rapper as well.
"What's he gonna say, that he's got bigger t*ts than Kreayshawn?" she jokes.
Looks like the White Girl Mob has managed to extend their 15 minutes of fame by at least another five.

Some of hip hop's finest acts kicked off the 2011 Rock The Bells Tour at San Bernardino's San Manuel Amphitheater yesterday
According to the Los Angeles Times, two of the sets that stood out were Nas and Lauryn Hill. Both of whom performed their classic albums 'Illmatic,' and 'The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill' in their entirety.
No album better captured that dichotomy than the evening’s emotional core, "Illmatic,” with Nas aided by the album’s lone guest star, AZ, and its legendary producers, Pete Rock and DJ Premier. Backed by a set piece of the Queensbridge Houses projects and clips from four elements of the hip-hop bible, “Wild Style,” the all-black clad Nas brought the “dungeons of rap” to the Inland Empire.

Lil Wayne seems to get sued almost as much cranks out hit records.
The latest lawsuit against the Young Money boss comes from a rapper by the name of Rich Rick. Rick alleges he was sold the "How To Love" beat by production team the Drummer Boyz, between 2006 and 2009.
According to TMZ, the Drumma Boyz sold the same beat to Lil Wayne in November 2010 for a 35% royalty deal. The song is now a hit record, and Rick wants his money back plus some.
Rick is suing Wayne, the Drummer Boyz, and others for everything from breach of contract to fraud. They are demanding everything DB are entitled to under their agreement with Wayne ... plus 10% interest.
