Ever since it was announced that Drake would be involved in the production of Aaliyah's second posthumous album there has been speculation as to whether the late singer's long time friends Missy Elliot and Timbaland would also participate.
Several days ago Jomo Hankerson, Co-Executive of Aaliyah's label Blackground Recordings told Billboard.biz that Missy and Timbaland would "definitely be involved." It now appears that won't be the case.
In a new statement issued to Billboard, Missy's manager says neither she or Timbaland will be working on the album.
"Although Missy and Timbaland always strive to keep the memory of their close friend alive, we have not been contacted about the project nor are there any plans at this time to participate," Mona Scott-Young, longtime manager for Missy Elliott, says. "We've seen the reports surfacing that they have been confirmed to participate but that is not the case. Both Missy and Timbaland are very sensitive to the loss still being felt by the family so we wanted to clear up any misinformation being circulated."
Missy also shared her thoughts on the situation.
"Tim and I carry Aaliyah with us everyday, like so many of the people who love her. She will always live in our hearts," Missy said. "We have nothing but love and respect for her memory and for her loved ones left behind still grieving her loss. They are always in our prayers."

Every artist has a particular method they like to use when they are recording music. Chris Rock happened to be a part of the recording process for Kanye West's album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. During an appearance on Sway in the Morning, Rock said that every night he stopped by the studio every person in there was wearing a suit.
"Everybody in the studio had suits on," Rock told Sway. "I thought he had like flown in a bunch of guys from like Europe or something. All the the guys... all the engineers were in black suits, white shirts and black ties. He set up a mood. When you walked in there you felt this mood."

Chad Johnson is having to face the consequences of his actions following a recent domestic violence incident involving his wife Evelyn Lozada.
Johnson is accused of headbutting Lozada inside of his "black smart" car in the driveway in front of their house Saturday. The headbutt left a three-inch laceration to Lozado's forehead.
Johnson was arrested and after spending the night in jail was ordered by the judge in the case to have no contact with his wife. Lozada told police she would like to file formal charges against Johnson.
Chad was also dropped by the Miami Dolphins from their football team the same day he got out of jail because of the incident.
Today TMZ is reporting that VH1 is cancelling Johnson's reality show in the wake of his domestic violence arrest.
The "Ev and Ocho" was a spinoff of "Basketball Wives" and was scheduled to air September 3rd. It now appears the show will never see the light of day.
"Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series 'Ev and Ocho' from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it," a VH1 rep told TMZ.
According to ESPN.com, if convicted of a misdemeanor domestic violence charge, Johnson would face a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $1,000 fine. He could also receive community service, probation or be ordered to take anger-management classes.

Maino is evidently a big Nas fan. The rapper showed his support for Nas' new album Life Is Good by visiting a local Best Buystore and buying enough copies of it to hand out to every employee he came in contact with.
He even gave one employee extra incentive to listen to the album.
"You work at f*cking Best Buy and you don't got Nas album? You want a free one don't you?" he asked the employee. "I'll come back here and cut your f*cking head if don't listen to it."

Rihanna's war with her former accounting firm, Berdon LLP, is starting to heat up. Rihanna sued the New York-based firm last month accusing them of bad bookkeeping.
In her suit filed in a Manhattan federal court under her real name, Robyn Fenty, the singer said that Berdon LLP failed to inform her that her 2009 Last Girl On Earth tour had managed "significant net losses," despite the fact that revenue was up. The suit further claims that the accounting firm took 22% of the revenue while only paying Rihanna 6%.
The suit says that the defendants took millions from revenues from four national and international tours over five years.
TMZ is reporting that in new legal documents Berdon is firing back.
Berdon says that any accusation of mismanagement are not true. They maintain that "the commission they took was signed off on by RiRi in an engagement letter that gave them permission to do so."
Berdon claims that it was Rihanna's "own financial action or inaction" or the actions of others working for her that caused her to lose millions and they are not at fault.
The accounting firm is asking that Rihanna be awarded nothing from the lawsuit. A judge has not yet ruled.
