LAKE MARY, Fla. (Associated Press) — A bullet missed George Zimmerman's head when he was involved in a shooting Monday in Florida, his attorney said, but the former neighborhood watch volunteer wasn't seriously hurt in his latest encounter with law enforcement.
Zimmerman was sprayed with glass from his vehicle's windshield and other debris in the Orlando suburb of Lake Mary, said his attorney Don West.
"His injuries would be considered minor," West said. "The bullet missed his head. I think it broke a window and lodged in his vehicle."
The Lake Mary Police Department said in a Twitter post that officers had responded to a shooting involving Zimmerman. The tweet provided no other details, and a spokeswoman didn't return multiple phone calls.
Zimmerman was released from a hospital. He thinks he may know who is responsible for the shooting and is cooperating with authorities, West said.
Zimmerman was acquitted in 2013 of fatally shooting Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teenager, in a case that sparked protests and national debate about race relations. The Justice Department later announced it was not bringing a civil rights case against Zimmerman.
Since then, Zimmerman has had several brushes with the law, including:
— He was charged with aggravated assault after being accused of throwing a wine bottle at an ex-girlfriend, Brittany Brunelle. The case was dropped in January after she recanted her story and refused to cooperate.
— Following another domestic confrontation, he was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, battery and criminal mischief after his then-girlfriend said he pointed a gun at her face during an argument, smashed her coffee table and pushed her out of the house they shared. Samantha Scheibe decided not to cooperate with detectives, and prosecutors didn't pursue the case.
— Zimmerman was accused by his estranged wife of smashing an iPad during an argument at the home they had shared. Shellie Zimmerman initially told a dispatcher her husband had a gun, though she later said he was unarmed. No charges were filed because of a lack of evidence. The dispute occurred days after Shellie Zimmerman filed divorce papers.
— Last September, a driver said Zimmerman threatened to kill him, asking "Do you know who I am?" during a road confrontation in their vehicles. The driver decided not to pursue charges, and police officers were unable to move forward without a car tag identified or witnesses.

In this exclusive interview with VladTV, Project Pat recalls one of his craziest moments with Three Six Mafia that involved strippers, jealous boyfriends, and the police.
The rapper explains how he, Juicy J and DJ Paul were in Nashville, Tennessee with their entourage having a good time. From mingling with the Ruff Ryders crew, to the beautiful women on their arms, things were looking good for the rapper. After making a cameo in a video for DMX, Pat decided to leave his hotel for a moment. The rapper said he returned to find a plethora of cops and squad cars looking for the group.
While he was gone, DJ Paul was confronted by the alleged ex of the woman he was with. Shortly after there was a scuffle between both entourages, and the blame was completely put on the Hip Hop trio, hence the massive amount of police.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (Associated Press) — Three people were arrested — and two were charged with capital murder — after two Mississippi police officers were shot to death during a traffic stop, a state law enforcement spokesman said Sunday.
The officers' deaths were the first reported in the southern Mississippi city of Hattiesburg in three decades.
Warren Strain, a spokesman for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, told The Associated Press that 29-year-old Marvin Banks and 22-year-old Joanie Calloway were each charged with two counts of capital murder.
Marvin Banks
Banks was charged with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was also charged with grand theft for fleeing in the police cruiser after the shooting, Strain said.
"He absconded with a Hattiesburg police cruiser. He didn't get very far, three or four blocks and then he ditched that vehicle," Strain said.
Banks' 26-year-old brother, Curtis Banks, was charged with two counts of accessory after the fact of capital murder.
Curtis Banks being taken into custody
Officers arrested the three Hattiesburg residents at different locations overnight following the fatal shooting of the officers Saturday evening, Strain said.
"All three subjects were taken into custody without incident," Strain said, adding they were expected to face initial court appearances Monday. Because authorities said the three were being held at undisclosed jails in the state, they could not be reached for comment. It was not immediately known if they had acquired lawyers.
Strain said the three suspects were traveling in a Hyundai vehicle when it was stopped and that shots were fired by "one individual" from the vehicle.
He declined Sunday morning to say how many shots were fired or who had fired them. He also said any information about the officers' actions or what prompted the stop "would be premature to talk about" only hours into the investigation.
The official said Marvin Banks was found at a hotel in the area after Calloway was arrested at a convenience store. He added that Curtis Banks was taken into custody at a Hattiesburg apartment.
"At this point a weapon has not been recovered. However, warrants have been issued to search several properties in the Hattiesburg area. We are hopeful and believe that the murder weapon will be recovered," Strain added. "At this point, it appears to have been only one weapon."
Strain said both officers died of their wounds at a hospital.
Lt. Jon Traxler, a Hattiesburg Police Department spokesman, identified the officers who died as 34-year-old Benjamin Deen and 25-year-old Liquori Tate. Local reports identified Deen as a past department "Officer of the Year," and Tate was a newcomer to the force who Strain said was a 2014 graduate of the law enforcement academy.

"All I know right now is that there was a traffic stop and someone started shooting at them and both of the officers were struck," Traxler said.
The officers bodies were taken to a medical examiner's office in Jackson with autopsies pending, Strain said.
After the shooting, law enforcement agents swarmed the area. Many emergency vehicles, their lights flashing, could be seen and police initial asked nearby residents to shelter indoors while they sought suspects.
The state's chief law enforcement agency, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, has taken up the investigation, according to Strain.
Earlier, Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny DuPree told The Jackson Clarion-Ledger (http://on.thec-l.com/1GWpqRp) he lamented the deaths.
"The men and women who go out every day to protect us, the men and woman who go out every day to make sure that we're safe, they were turned on (Saturday) night," DuPree said outside Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, where the officers were taken.
The newspaper reported these are the first Hattiesburg officers to die in the line of duty in 30 years.
Hattiesburg resident Tamika Mills was quoted by The Clarion-Ledger as saying some bystanders came upon the officers on the ground, and that one of the officers asked "... 'Am I dying? I know I'm dying. Just hand me my walkie-talkie,'" Mills told the paper.
She added, according to the account, that seeing the officers down was "shocking and heartbreaking."
Lil Scrappy shared his thoughts on Plies getting body slammed last month during a Florida concert, and the Atlanta emcee told DJ Smallz that he's confused about how the whole incident took place. Scrappy said that his security would never let someone be that close to him on stage, and he was surprised that Plies didn't roll the same way.
Speaking more on the situation, the "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" star said that the Plies situation is a lesson for all rappers to learn about having security at their concerts.

It wasn't common back in the day for 30-year-old rappers to still be in the game, but Twista told VladTV that 30 is the age when a lot of successful rappers have peaked. The Chicago emcee points out that Nas and Jay Z were around that same age when they were on top of their careers.
Twista elaborated more on the subject by saying that it's now possible for 40 and 50-year-old rappers to be relevant, and adds that Hip-Hop has evolved from its previous way of thinking.
