The brutal beating and robbery of a girl in a Seattle bus tunnel has been caught on tape -- along with the inaction of three security guards from whom she sought protection.

A teen girl and three young men face first-degree robbery charges stemming from the attack, during which they allegedly stole the 15-year-old's purse, phone, and iPod.

The 15-year-old victim, who is black, told cops the altercation began at a nearby Macy's, where some in the group taunted her saying she had "nice things" and acts "white," according to court papers filed Wednesday. One of the defendants claims the victim pepper-sprayed a person in the group.

Two Seattle police officers noticed the escalating situation and kicked the group out of the store, then brought the girl and her friend to another exit, the victim said. She reported that she asked the officers for an escort to the bus tunnel, just below the department store, but the officers refused.

She said she then deliberately stood next to the security guards in hopes of warding off further confrontation.

"I went to the security and told them that these kids were trying to jump me," the girl said. "I know that I am about to get jumped and I am hanging around the guards to try and get protection. ... I thought the security guards would defend me."

The guards didn't intervene, though. They have standing orders to "observe and report," so they called police but did nothing else as another 15-year-old girl punched and repeatedly kicked the victim in the head.

King County Sheriff's Sgt. John Urquhart said the guards were right to follow their training.

"If you're a bank teller and you do something other than give them the money, you're going to get fired," Urquhart said. "We don't expect civilians to take police action. In this case, it was a violent fight, and they were outnumbered by this pack of people 3-to-1."

Other Kings County officials disagree.

"We are very disappointed in what people see in that video," a transit official, Kevin Desomond, said. "It was absolutely unacceptable."

Government officials as well as executives at Olympic Security Services Inc., which employs the guards, are reviewing protocol in the wake of the incident.

Looks Like Rihanna Was Nothing More Than A Piece To Smash For Matt Kemp "It's Not That Big A Deal"

When Matt Kemp decided to jet off to Mexico with Rihanna, he was not expecting the amount of press and scrutiny that later ensued. Speaking up this week, Kemp says the whole ordeal with Rihanna as a 'friend' is really "not that big a deal."

"She's just a friend, a good friend of mine and we went down to Mexico and had fun together," Kemp told MLB this week. "I didn't think all that would come out of it, it just happened. I'm not used to that much attention to my personal life."

As previously reported, rumors that Rihanna and Kemp were 'involved' and 'dating' at one point broke shortly after their vacation in Mexico. Rihanna, speaking of the rumors in recent weeks, has told press "I'm single".

Nonetheless, Kemp, a Los Angeles Dodgers athlete, refuses to let the rumors and scrutiny get to him.

"It's really not that big a deal," Kemp tells MLB. "But in L.A., doing things here, you're under a microscope, they're examining everything you're doing. It's L.A., man, the city we live in. It is what it is. Can't control what happens."

"My job is to get my work in, which I've been doing. Nothing distracts me from my job, not the contract, or my personal life. When it's time to play baseball, that's my job. No distractions."

In related news, Rihanna was spotted in Seoul, South Korea Wednesday. She is reportedly in Seoul for a promotional event.

Rap-Up is reporting the six time Grammy Award winning singer is going to debut her show titled “Braxton Family Values” this fall on Bravo.

Featuring Toni, her mom and sister Tamar the show promises to be entertaining and drama filled according to Toni.

In other Toni Braxton news she is wrapping up her new album 'Pulse' and is looking to have a duet with Usher on the album. She told Rap-Up “I think me and Usher are gonna do something together,”

“Usher’s great. He’s like my brother in the business. Love, love, love him! We’re both represented by AEG [Live CEO] Randy Phillips, so Randy’s gonna definitely make it happen.”

'Pulse' is scheduled to be released on May 4.

John Mayer Apologizes For Using N-Word In Playboy Interview + Other Controversial Statements About Jennifer Aniston & Jessica Simpson

NEW YORK – John Mayer is apologizing for his mouth.

The Grammy-winner took to his Twitter page to make amends for his latest inflammatory comments — this time, in the March edition of Playboy.

In it, he calls former girlfriend Jessica Simpson "sexual napalm" and says Jennifer Aniston is a technophobe who wishes she could go back to her career prime in 1998. He also uses the N-word.

On Twitter Wednesday afternoon, he apologized for the racial epithet and said he has to stop "trying to be so raw in interviews."

"It started as an attempt to not let the waves of criticism get to me, but it's gotten out of hand and I've created somewhat of a monster," Mayer tweeted. "I wanted to be a blues guitar player. And a singer. And a songwriter. Not a shock jock. I don't have the stomach for it."

There were plenty who didn't have the stomach for his remarks in Playboy, in which he talked about Simpson's sexuality, his problems with Aniston, his love of porn, why he doesn't date black women and being beloved by the black community.

"Someone asked me the other day, 'What does it feel like now to have a hood pass?' And by the way, it's sort of a contradiction in terms, because if you really had a hood pass, you could call it a nigger pass,'" he said, then added: "But I said, 'I can't really have a hood pass. I've never walked into a restaurant, asked for a table and been told, 'We're full.'"

Mayer said he should have never have used the N-word in any context and will never say it again.

"And it's such a shame that I did because the point I was trying to make was in the exact opposite spirit of the word itself. It was arrogant of me to think I could intellectualize using it, because I realize that there's no intellectualizing a word that is so emotionally charged," he said.

The racial comments were hardly the only explosive comments in the interview. He said he still loved Aniston, but then noting their age difference (she just turned 41), he said: "I can't change the fact that I need to be 32."

He also said she didn't appreciate new technology: "The brunt of her success came before TMZ and Twitter. I think she's still hoping it goes back to 1998. She saw my involvement in technology as courting distraction. And I always said, 'These are the new rules,'" he said.

Of Simpson, he talked about her sexual ability, and said: "That girl, for me, is a drug ... That girl is like crack cocaine to me."

In the interview, he also explained why he didn't date black women, comparing his genitals to "a white supremacist."

Mayer — known for his loose tongue — has made a habit out of outlandish comments. Last month, he gave an interview with Rolling Stone where he talked openly about his love life, including sex with other women — and himself.

Kid Cudi Tries His Hand At Acting, Speaks On His Role In HBO's "How To Make It In America"

Over the last year Kid Cudi has made quite a name for himself. He's gone from the guy whose name no one could pronounce to three Grammy nominations and features on tracks with everyone from Jay-Z to Shakira. In a short time he's achieved a lot in the music industry, and now he's ready to show off his acting as Scott Mescudi.





"The fact that everybody is finally getting to see me act and stuff is part of my dream coming true. It's just really dope, and people could see me be silly. My album was so deep and serious, and that was just me showing my dark side," Cudi explained. "Acting is therapeutic — just being able to pretend to be somebody else for a little bit, it's dope."

The MC makes his acting debut in HBO's new show "How to Make It in America." The series centers on the two characters of Ben Epstein and Cam Calderon, played by Bryan Greenberg and Victor Rasuk, respectively, as they attempt to start their own fashion line. Cudi plays their friend Domingo Dean (he named the character after his two older brothers) who helps them along the way.

The show's creator Ian Edleman approached Cudi one night and asked if he had ever considered acting.

"Of course I was like, 'Yeah,' but it was in the club and I was trashed. I didn't necessarily take him seriously. Two days later he had his assistant send me a script and I was like, 'Wow, this is dope. I would love to be a part of this.' "

Cudi actually auditioned for the part while he was helping Kanye West on 808s & Heartbreak.

"I would dip away from sessions with Kanye and go rehearse my lines when nobody was around because I was very self-conscious and I didn't want them to see me and make fun of me."

"How to Make It" is executive-produced by the team behind HBO's "Entourage": Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, Rob Weiss and Julian Farino. The show takes place in New York, however, and its characters are far from A-list actors.

"I'm talking about these guys work a 9-to-5 — actually, one of them doesn't even have a job. As the story goes along you see all of the hardships that they've had to go through in order to achieve their dreams," Cudi said.

The show finds the cast bouncing all around the city from Brooklyn to the diverse art scene of Downtown to the upscale Upper East Side. The cast said that was one of the great payoffs of the show.

"What was great about shooting the show was, sometimes me as a native New Yorker, I'll find spots and we'll start shooting and I'll say, 'I've never even seen this place before. I never even heard of this place,' " Victor Rasuk offered.

"The cool thing about this show is, like, we're shooting in the best locations in NYC — the best restaurants, the best clubs," Greenberg said. "This is definitely one of the sets where all of my friends want to come visit."

"How to Make It in America" premieres Sunday on HBO.

On February 10, 2006 the world lost one of it's greatest musicians. J. Dilla aka Jay Dee died from a rare blood disease and hip hop has mourned ever since.

Common was one of the lucky MC's who had the pleasure of working directly with Dilla.

He spoke recently with Hard Knock TV about what it was like to collaborate with him and why his death was such a great loss to the hip hop community.

Dentist Speaks On Lil Wayne's Mystery Tooth Ailment (Audio Inside)

Much has been made of Lil Wayne's surprising adjournment in a New York courtroom on Tuesday, which saw the rapper's prison sentencing delayed until March 2 because of dental surgery. There have even been murmurs that Wayne had the benefit of celebrity justice.


But the request made by Wayne's defense was hardly guaranteed: He had a large contingent of supporters from the Cash Money/Young Money camps arrive with him, seemingly ready to see him off, and he has been recording music and videos at a maniacal pace in recent weeks. Above all, the delay had to be approved by a judge, and Manhattan state Supreme Court Justice Charles Solomon agreed to forgo sentencing for the time being.

But according to an Atlanta dentist who has worked with patients with grills, the New Orleans MC's condition is anything but routine.

Dr. Sherry Rudd, who has 13 years of dental experience in private practice and working with inmates, said that although she doesn't know Wayne's exact ailment, the symptoms — a cracked tooth, 10 days of recovery time, his propensity for sweets and the condition of his teeth — point toward the lyricist having an infection.

The malady is compounded further, she said, by the gold and diamonds encrusted on the rapper's teeth.

"He probably has a bad tooth, a tooth that's abscessed," Dr. Rudd explained to MTV News on Wednesday (February 10). "With having all of [gold and diamond material] in his mouth, it's going to be really difficult to get clean because of all of the different crevices. I don't know if they're bridges or if they are all individual. But if it's going to be two weeks [from surgery to recovery], then I don't think he's going to get them all off, because of the potential damage. Without knowing what's exactly there, it's probably decayed and the decay got into the nerve, which causes the nerve to die."

If that's the case, a decaying tooth, which is possible given the rapper's reliance on Orajel, could be treated in a variety of ways.

Dr. Rudd said one such instance could be that Wayne receives antibiotics for up to a week to reduce the infection, to avoid it spreading. An abscess can infect the nerve and then drain into the surrounding gums, tissues and bone area, she said. Also, if the infection isn't properly treated prior to surgery, there can be complications with drainage into the throat area or even the eyes.

Without knowing specific details — and Lil Wayne's attorney, Stacy Richman, declined to specify the ailment in court and afterward — Dr. Rudd said it's difficult to pinpoint exactly what type of surgery the rapper may undergo. She did note that the procedure probably isn't major, but she described it as complex given the variables.

There are dentists in prison facilities who are capable of treating Wayne, she offered, but Rudd said since this is reportedly part of ongoing work Wayne reportedly has been having done, it's best to stick with his personal oral surgeon.

"If [the tooth] just needs to come out, most dentists can do that," Rudd said. "You have different root structures; it could be a wisdom tooth, or impacted, it depends on the tooth. When I was in school we had rotations where we went to the prisons, so they have the ability in those facilities. But if they're going to take anything out and it's infected — and because of the condition of his teeth — it shouldn't be just anybody.

Bay Area Rapper E-40 Dropping 2 Separate Albums On Same Day

He's got multiple aliases: Charlie Hustle, 40 Fonzarelli, The Ballatician, Mr. Flamboyant, 40 Belafonte to E-Feezy. But, he's professionally known as E-40, or the Ambassador of The Bay Area, and the Ambassador is gearing up for release of his 13th and 14th album on the same date.

In late March, E-Feezy is will be dropping two separate albums, entitled Revenue Retrievin' The Day Shift and Revenue Retrievin' The Night Shift.

Going to work with him, hip-Hop's finest profiles, Snoop Dogg, Gucci Mane, Too Short and Mistah Fab punch in along with the melodies of Bobby V, Jazze Pha, YV and J. Valentine on both day and night shifts. With a total of 38 brand new tracks, E-40 and his Bay Area conglomerate -- B-Legit, Messy Marv, Dem Hoodstarz, Ya Boy, The DB'z, Turf Talk, Clyde Carson, Husalah and Droop-E -- lyrically engineer a top shelf production.

"I'm excited about this album; it's been a year since I dropped The Ball Street Journal. It marks an important independent business venture for me. This way, I am able to go back to the basics and run my own campaign," E-40 said of the two releases.

Beyonce's Fashion Line House Of Dereon Being Sued For Breach Of Contract

Still flying high from her Grammy Awards wins and fragrance success, Beyonce has been slapped with a major lawsuit.

House of Dereon, the clothing line she and her mother Tina Knowles helm together, is being sued by its Hong Kong-based manufacturer Vier International Ltd. for breach of contract.

In a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court in Manhattan, Vier says it lost $500,000 because the clothing company Donna Loren LLC and shipping company HJM International were "conspirators who induced the shipment of goods to the United States with the intent to convert them or pay less than the agreed upon contract price."

Vier named two entities owned by Knowles and partners -- Beyond Productions LLC and House of Dereon -- for taking part through purchase orders and requesting manufacturing specifications.

The company included claims under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), which is what is used in most Mafia prosecutions, but over the years has been expanded to other areas and includes civil claims by private parties like the claims here.

John Mayer just got more candid than ever, opening up about Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston and his "white supremacist" private parts. Yes, white supremacist.

In an interview with Playboy, Mayer explained that he was practically addicted to ex-girlfriend Simpson. "That girl, for me, is a drug," he said. "And drugs aren't good for you if you do lots of them. Yeah, that girl is like crack cocaine to me... Sexually, it was crazy. That's all I'll say. It was like napalm, sexual napalm."

Mayer was a little tamer in their discussion on his other highly publicized relationship with Jennifer Aniston, and cited something unusual as a reason for their breakup. "One of the most significant differences between us was that I was tweeting," he said.

"The brunt of her success came before TMZ and Twitter," he continued. "I think she's still hoping it goes back to 1998. She saw my involvement in technology as courting distraction. And I always said, 'These are the new rules.'"

But even after their breakup, it's clear that Mayer still cares for Aniston. "We just have a regard for each other's feelings that is pretty intense," he said. "It's been a deep relationship, and it's no longer taking place at all. Have you ever loved somebody, loved her completely, but had to end the relationship for life reasons?"

And although Mayer is known as a ladies man, he admits that when it comes to black women, he hasn't been so lucky. "I don't think I open myself to it. My d--k is sort of like a white supremacist... I'm going to start dating separately from my d--k."

*What In The World?* Man Arrested For Trying To Buy Elementary School Boys Urine To Pass Drug Test!

MANHATTAN BEACH -- An 18-year-old Manhattan Beach man has been arrested for allegedly trying to buy urine from boys.

Kevin Duron is accused of walking into a restroom at Pacific Elementary School last week and offering two boys several dollars to urinate in a cup, Manhattan Beach Sgt. Brian Brown said.

The boys refused his request.

Duron was arrested on Monday for investigation of annoying children. He's being held on $150,000 bail.

Brown said it's believed Duron was trying to collect urine to pass drug tests.

Surveillance cameras captured Duron on his first visit to the school, police said, adding that a teacher recognized him when he returned to the school on Monday.

School officials notified parents of the incidents and say no students were hurt.

Kobe Bryant's Decision To Host NBA All Star Party For Magazine That Features Scantily Clad Women Stirs Controversy [Pics Inside]

Some people seem to look for controversy no matter what.

Kobe Bryant is hosting a party for Show Magazine this NBA All Star Weekend. A decision that has drawn criticism from a few online publications.

Sure Kobe was involved in a scandal in 2003 involving an alleged rape (a charge that was never proven, Kobe settled out of court).

Does that mean the man isn't entitled to have a good time?

I'm sure he is getting paid a large amount of money to host the event.

Also Show Magazine told TMZ that the NBA had approved the flier for the event which means they don't see anything wrong with it.

The last thing the NBA would want is for their star player to be caught up in a situation that would reflect negatively on him and the league. So if they are ok with it then we should be too.

In my opinion people need to just lighten up.

Allen Iverson Sued For $2.5 Million By Ohio Man Who Was Injured By A.I.'s Security Team Last Year

An Ohio resident has filed a civil lawsuit against former Piston Allen Iverson that seeks $2.5 million plus damages stemming from an alleged incident at a Detroit nightspot last spring.

In an eight-page complaint filed in district court, Guy Walker claims he "suffered severe pain, emotional distress and mental anguish" from injuries suffered during an altercation at the South Beach Pizza Bar on the night of April 11.

Walker claims Antwuan Clisey, a Virginia resident, was working as a member of Iverson's security detail when Clisey initiated an unprovoked attack that cleared the bar, and Iverson, who was escorted away from the scene, did nothing to stop the altercation.

The complaint says Walker suffered "an orbital blowout fracture of the eye" as well as other injuries.

Iverson signed with the Philadelphia 76ers this summer, and a team representative said Wednesday that Iverson was attending to a family matter and was not with the team. A phone call to Iverson's agent, Leon Rose, was not returned.

No trial date has been set.

Yo Gotti Feels Like It's His Job, Along With Gucci Mane & Young Jeezy To Save Trap Music [Video Inside]

Yo Gotti just wants to preserve the environment. The Memphis, Tennessee, MC wants to uphold the integrity of the streets in hip-hop. He has talked about the responsibility on the shoulders of himself, Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane as three of the 'hood's ambassadors.

"Keep getting it, I respect you and salute you, my n---a," Gotti says on the record "Save Da Trap," talking directly to Jeezy. "I knew you for this rap sh--/ We used to speak on trap sh--/ You represent the streets and you know I do the same/ From one gangsta to another, dawg, I hope you never change."


The last verse of the song addresses Gucci Mane.

"I don't really f--- with rappers but you/ You like my brother," Gotti says to Gucci. "We was in the spot/ We looked out for one another/ The first time I met, three songs in one night."

Gotti explained his musical letters to us.

"I feel like it's our job, between me and Jeezy and Gucci — I feel that's who the streets look at as far as trap music," Gotti explained. "So if it's gonna be saved, we have to save it. That [song is] me telling myself and them, 'Don't do it.' We gotta save the trap — the streets want us here. We still can do what we wanna do, make any kinda music we want to do — but we gotta keep representing the trap for the trap, 'cause that's what's made us."

Yo Gotti's next album, Live From the Kitchen, comes out later this year. He recently filmed a video for "Women Lie, Men Lie" in Los Angeles.

"It's a mystery video," Gotti said. "Women lie, men lie — it's kind of a mystery video. You'll see what's going on and what's not going on. I'm rapping about numbers. It's self-explanatory, a lot of things I'm talking about — figures ... what jewelry cost, what my deal is worth. It's just different things where I come from in the streets — a lot of numbers."

'Deadliest Catch' Captain Phil Harris Dies At 53 From Complications Of Stroke

Sad news this morning: Phil Harris, captain of the Cornelia Marie fishing boat featured on Deadliest Catch, has died in Alaska. He was 53.

Harris suffered a massive stroke on Jan. 29 while the Cornelia Marie was in port at St. Paul Island, Alaska. The boat captain was flown to Anchorage for surgery.

"It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our dad - Captain Phil Harris. Dad has always been a fighter and continued to be until the end," sons Josh and Jake Harris said in a statement on the Cornelia Marie site. "For us and the crew, he was someone who never backed down."

In a statement the network said, "Discovery mourns the loss of dear friend and colleague Captain Phil Harris. He was more than someone on our television screen. Phil was a devoted father and loyal friend to all who knew him. We will miss his straightforward honesty, wicked sense of humor and enormous heart. We share our tremendous sadness over this loss with the millions of viewers who followed Phil's every move. We send our thoughts and prayers to Phil's sons Josh and Jake and the Cornelia Marie crew."

Jamie Foxx Delivers $500,000 Worth Of Musical Instruments To High School Kids. Tells Them To Blame It On The "A-A-A-Apple Juice"

LOS ANGELES – Jamie Foxx wanted to entertain a group of musically inclined high school students with a few bars from his Grammy winning hit, "Blame It."

But since the song is an ode to the effects of alcohol, he changed the lyrics to "Blame it on the a-a-a-apple juice." The kids roared.

"I changed it so you guys could sing it," he joked.

Students from four high schools gathered Tuesday at Walt Disney Concert Hall, where Foxx helped present new violins, flutes, French horns, trumpets and drums valued at $500,000 to students from 16 schools nationwide.

The instruments are part of the Fidelity FutureStage program, an effort by the investment firm to enrich arts education in public schools.

Founded in 2006, the program provides instruments, specialized training by professional musicians, and a chance for aspiring artists to perform with renowned orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Boston Pops.

Foxx told students he began as a classical pianist and eventually won a scholarship to study the instrument in college.

"That allowed me to come to L.A. and work on my craft," he said. "Then I went into acting and comedy, and then it was Ray Charles ..."

Foxx, 42, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Charles in "Ray," got the crowd fired up and had them chanting "mu-sic, mu-sic" before students came on stage to accept shiny new saxophones, clarinets and other instruments.

"This is way better than our old stuff," one student said.

Dominic Monaghan hosted the program, which was simulcast in Boston, Houston, Chicago and Los Angeles. Students in all four cities performed and received donated instruments.

After the program, Foxx praised Fidelity for stepping in where public funding had failed. He also encouraged other companies to participate.

"Even if a kid is not going to be the greatest musician in the world, just the fact that you gave him something, the fact that you said, 'hey, I care about you,' that's what it's about," Foxx said.

Lil Wayne's Jail Sentencing Delayed Due To Dental Surgery

NEW YORK — Lil Wayne's sentencing has been delayed until March 2 due to dental surgery, his attorney announced in a Manhattan courtroom Tuesday (February 9).

The rapper was scheduled to be formally sentenced by a judge and begin serving his one-year term stemming from a 2007 arrest that resulted in a guilty plea in October for attempted weapons possession.

The Cash Money MC arrived shortly after 2 p.m. with his label heads Birdman and Slim. He quietly entered the courtroom as photographers snapped pictures from the hallway. Wayne wore a navy coat and black-framed glasses, and he sat still while his lawyer Stacey Richman spoke.

She informed the judge that she sent a notification to the Manhattan District Attorney's Office that the rapper is suffering from a cracked tooth and would need to postpone his sentence. The judge agreed and ruled to reschedule for March 2.

The rapper is set to undergo surgery February 12 in Miami, according to Richman. He will need a week to 10 days to recover. His defense offered prosecutors February 25 as a date for Wayne to turn himself him in after surgery, but Judge Charles H. Solomon instead selected March 2.

The judge then warned Wayne that he must return to Miami on Tuesday. Solomon insisted if he leaves tomorrow, there would be a chance his surgery would be delayed due to hazardous weather conditions leaving New York.

"I don't want this to get pushed back anymore," Solomon said. "This is the last adjournment."
