Beyonce made good on her promise to film a music video for "I Was Here" on Friday at the United Nations General Assembly Hall in New York City. The song is being donatated by Beyonce and Diane Warren, the song's composer, for World Humanitarian Day.
The live performance video will be released on World Humanitarian Day, August 19.
Beyonce received praise from those in attendance for her performance.
"She was fantastic," U.K. Ambassador to the U.N., Sir Mark Lyall Grant, said after the performance, which he attended with his daughter.
Actress Julia Stiles, on her way into the performance, said, "Beyoncé is kick ass and, it is the U.N., which is very exciting."
R & B singer The Dream added, "I really believe in being a better human being on a daily basis, especially from the culture we are from, it is a big step."
As we previously reported, Jim Jones and Azealia Banks got into a war of words on Twitter several days ago. Today Azealia releases a diss track aimed at the Dipset Capo.
50 Cent has been making the media rounds lately promoting his new movie Freelancers. The flick, which also stars Robert De Niro and Forest Whitaker arrives on Blu-ray August 21st.
When the G-Unit boss sat down with The Hollywood Reporter, he was asked about several other topics as well. One of the questions had to do with Snoop Dogg's name change to Snoop Lion.
“It’s interesting,” 50 told THR. “Of course, there will be some people who connect to it and there will be some people that run from it – I don’t know how his little league team’s parents will feel about his new persona. But again, it’s a persona – these are the choices he’s created for himself creatively. And, you know, I think it will work.”
50 added that hip hop has always embraced weed influenced rap lyrics.
“Snoop’s always been that,” he says. “In the very beginning, that was his consistent theme – he had the weed, and everything else was there. [But] for hip-hop culture, it will work, because there’s enough of that going on; Wiz Khalifa, his entire theme is that. I’ve consistently seen artists sell 500,000 copies with that as a theme: Redman, Method Man, Styles P. And then I saw someone sell a million records when Afroman spoke to the younger college demographic – 'I was going to do my homework, but then I got high,'" he recalls, referring to the rapper's 2001 hit single "Because I Got High." "It just changed it up – it just felt like there was a humor to the way he chose to write it and it had a stronger impression and effect, because the kids liked to laugh at it."
As far as his own music career, 50 is getting ready to release his new album Street King Immortal on November 13th. The lead single "New Day" has been getting a lot of positive response. It's the kind of song we're used to hearing from 50, but at one point he planned to go in another direction musically. He had planned to release the album Black Magic, which was more influenced by European dance music. That project has been shelved and will never see the light of day according to 50.
“It doesn’t make sense – and that’s why you’re never going to hear that album,” he says ofBlack Magic. “I have things that I really appreciate that belong in my iPod -- my iPod only -- and leave it there.”
Presented by Wisdom Court Entertainment and produced by Imahj, the first single, "Love Me Baby", featuring DJ Cliffstarr, off Billy Lyve's highly anticipated new album, "Falling Up While I'm Dreaming", is dropping soon! Stay tuned!

Things appear to be moving at warp speed between Kim Kardashian and Kanye West if new reports are to be believed.
In Touch is reporting that the reality star and the Louis Vuitton Don are trying to have a baby.
In Touch can exclusively reveal that Kim has taken a big step in her quest to conceive — she’s quit her birth control!
“Kim is ready to have babies and talks about it all the time,” reveals a Kardashian insider to In Touch. And since she’s been on the pill for around 15 years, reports another source, Kim, 31, is taking “the necessary measures” to make it easier to conceive.
And Kanye, 35, is not being shy about how he feels about Kim getting pregnant either! Hitting Manhattan hotspot PHD with Leonardo DiCaprio on August 3, Kanye “didn’t even look at girls,” says an eyewitness to In Touch. Instead, he jumped in the DJ booth and debuted three new songs … including one titled “Perfect Bitch” that mentions his “future wife,” Kim, and proclaims he wants her to have his babies.
Now all Kim has to do is finalize her divorce from Kris Humphries.
DJ Self took the cameras with him when he hit up Toronto last weekend for the Caribana Festival. Check out the footage with cameos from Meek Mill, Waka Flocka Flame, Chinx Drugz, French Montana, Jeremih, DJ Drama and more.
Harry Belafonte has blasted Beyoncé and Jay-Z in a new interview, accusing the couple of "turning their back on social responsibility."
The American singer and activist told The Hollywood Reporter that the celebrity pair haven't done enough for minorities in Hollywood.
Belafonte even told the publication that he thinks Bruce Springsteen does more than Beyoncé and Jay-Z have ever done.
Asked if he is "happy with the image of members of minorities in Hollywood today." Belafonte replied: "Not at all. They have not told the history of our people, nothing of who we are. We are still looking.
"We are not determinated. We are not driven by some technology that says you can kill Afghans, the Iraqis or the Spanish. It is all -- excuse my French -- sh*t. It is sad.And I think one of the great abuses of this modern time is that we should have had such high-profile artists, powerful celebrities. But they have turned their back on social responsibility. That goes for Jay-Z and Beyoncé, for example. Give me Bruce Springsteen, and now you’re talking. I really think he is black."

Belafonte also used the interview to voice his political opinion. Asked if he would want to see Mitt Romney take over from Obama as the President of the United States, Belafonte replied sarcastically: "Only if I would like to see the end of civilization. No, absolutely not. Mitt Romney is not my cup of tea at all."
However, while Belafonte didn't hold back with his comments about Beyoncé and Jay-Z, the couple both do a lot to use their profiles in the name of charity.
Beyoncé recently announced that she would be donating the proceeds of her album track "I Was Here" to World Humanitarian Day.
The Grammy-award winner singer will film a video for the track at the United Nations General Assembly Hall in New York City in front of a live audience on August 19.
"We all see the headlines and we think what can I really do to help?", she said.
"World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity for all of us to work together to make a difference. This is our time to leave our mark on the world and show that we were here and we care."
The campaign website which launched yesterday, encourages people to share their acts of good will, in the hope the message will reach someone.
Meanwhile, Jay-Z also has his own charitable foundation called the Shawn Carter Foundation.
Through the charity, the singer helps "individuals facing socio-economic hardships further their education."
Both Beyoncé and Jay-Z also use their names to help draw attention to charitable causes.
Jay-Z has added another talented artist to his Roc Nation managment team. Singer/songwriter Elijah Blake formerly known as Redd StyleZ announced via Twitter he was joining the team yesterday.
Blake is signed to Def Jam and has previously worked with Rick Ross, Bei Major and J. Cole. He also wrote Usher's monster hit "Climax."
Blake joins Meek Mill, Rihanna, Melanie Fiona, Ester Dean, MIA, Shakira and more on the Roc Nation team.
He mentioned on Twitter that he will be releasing an EP in September.
Kobe Bryant has enough problems to worry about without having to deal with rumors he's having an affair with Australian Olympic swimmer Stephanie Rice, but that's the situation he finds himself in currently.
Rumors have started to swirl that the two may be romantically linked since they were spotted watching cycling at the velodrome. Stephanie was also seen in the audience at one of the U.S. basketball games.

Stephanie took to Twitter recently to deny any romantic link between her and Kobe.
"FYI yes Kobe and I are friends, but no we are not together and never have been," she wrote. "Can't guys and girls be just friends..? He's an amazing athlete and I've enjoyed getting to know him and many other great athletes in my Olympic journey."

Former Australian swimmer Craig Stevens told Sydney radio station Triple M that he thought something was going on between the two.
"I remember her telling a story how he kind of put it to her. He had the family coming in the next day but he had that night free," Stevens said.
Stevens later apologized for the comments, saying he didn't realize Kobe was still married.
"I have honestly felt sick after what I said, I had no right to make comments with second hand information," he said. "I did not realize he was still married. I thought he had been separated, hence why I thought something could be happening. If I could take back what I said I definitely would."
Kobe just recently reconciled with his wife, Vanessa, who filed for divorce from the NBA star in December 2011. At the time TMZ reported that Vanessa had gotten tired of Kobe cheating on her.

Had the divorce gone through Kobe would have lost 3 mansions and $75 millionin the settlement.
TMZ reported in June that Vanessa had called off the wedding. She has joined her husband in London for the Olympics. The couple looks happy together in pics taken with their six-year-old daughter, Gianna Maria-Onore, at a swimming event.
Hopefully Kobe can put this behind him and give the media something else to talk about. As for Rice, she seems to like the attention. Check out the pics below.
