Bulgarinan party leader Ahmed Dogan is lucky to have escaped serious injury today after a man attempted to shoot him while he was speaking in Sofia, Bulgaria.
A man approached Dogan, the leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedom, while he was delivering a speech and pointed a gas pistol at his head. The gun appears to jam, giving Dogan time to knock the man's hand away before he could fire the weapon.
Other delegates rushed the stage and wrestled the man, identified by police as 25-year-old Oktai Enimehmedov, to the ground. TV footage later shows several men punching and stomping Enimehmedov as he lay on the ground.
Enimehmedov was armed with the gas pistol and two knives according to The Mirror. A gas pistol is a non-lethal weapon used for self-defense, but experts say when fired from close range it can cause life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested Enimehmedov and took him to a hospital. It wasn't immediately clear if he sustained serious injuries. Officials are still trying to figure out how he got past security to enter the hall with nearly 3,000 people attending.
Bulgarian officials said that the 58-year old Dogan was not harmed.
"Ahmed Dogan is in good health. Everything is under control," MRF official Ceyhan Ibryamov told Reuters on Saturday.
Fans have been eagerly anticipating Lloyd Banks' first project with DJ Drama. Today the G-Unit rapper provided more details by revealing the name of the mixtape series, A.O.N. (All or Nothin).
Volume 1 is titled F.N.O. (Failures No Option).

Actor Robert F. Chew, who is best known for playing the memorable character Proposition Joe on the HBO series The Wire has died at the age of 52.
Chew was found dead in his Baltimore apartment on Thursday. The cause of death was heart failure according to the Baltimore Sun.
Jamie Hector, the actor who played Marlo Stanfield on the show tweeted about Chew's death earlier today.
"Robert was not only an exceptional actor, he was an essential part of the film and theater community in Baltimore,” David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’ said in an to The Baltimore Sun on Friday. “He could have gone to New York or Los Angeles and commanded a lot more work, but he loved the city as his home and chose to remain here working. He understood so much about his craft that it was no surprise at all that we would go to him to coach our young actors in season four. He was the conduit through which they internalized their remarkable performances."
Chew described Proposition Joe in a 2006 interview with David Zurawik of The Baltimore Sun by saying, “If you are thinking of ‘The Wire’ as a western, Joe would be the guy in town who owns all the land…. And he’s trying to make sure he has everything arranged so that the town runs the way he wants it to run – so that it runs for his profit. He’s always calculating that way."
