You are constantly making moves. What are some determining factors that come into place when you are presented with thesedifferent opportunities to grow your brand? Believing in God, staying humble and keeping a dope work ethic. I think im the hardest working one out of the midwest, and i say that with confidence. Its all in the hustle at the end of the day. The lane of observation, the humble lane but the dont take no shit lane. Im very key on relationships, but kissing ass was never a sport i played lol.#RealRecognizeReal
What is your ultimate goal for the Stack or Starve brand?
Well i feel we have already set trends and had success at breaking artists in the market and taking the dj crew to the next level as well as putting out classic projects. Now we want to continue breaking artists on a new level and let the new mixtape brands come in and do their thing. But ultimately its going to be doing some big tours and taking the brand to a corporate level.
Why should consumers support your movement / buy the brands you push. What separates you from every other brand ambassador? Independence first and foremost. We stay authentic to the streets and we also have an ear for talent as well as remain respected based on not forgetting where we come from. Im absolutely always confident that consumers are satisfied with our quality and vision for out presentations when it comes to the products and services. UFC fighter Jon 'Bones' Jones went off on an Albuquerque, New Mexico cop last week after he was pulled over and ticketed for allegedly drag racing.
Jones, who is already on 18 months probation for fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run accident in April 2015, vehemently denied drag racing and speeding in his Corvette.
"I did not drag race a Cadillac," he told the officer. "I did not break the speeding limit at all and I did not take off at a high speed. I cannot wait for you to prove that I was drag racing because I know I did not."
Jones became increasingly agitated as the conversation continued. He called the cop a liar and at one point attempted to call his lawyer.
Read a partial transcript of the exchange via TMZ below.
Jones: "Calling my lawyer, to ask him about this paper work. I’m sure I have the right to do that, buddy ... fuckin’ liar. I can’t believe you.”
Cop: “Well believe it, cuz I’m not joking.”
Jones: "For no reason. Fucking with me for no reason. What’s your name?"
Jones: “No, you’re not just doing your job. You’re fuckin’ picking this Corvette out for no reason. Blaming me for all this shit that you know isn’t true.”
Jones: "You’re ridiculous … I used to really respect … fuckers like you.”
Cop: “You’d rather I just turn my head and let you be a nuisance to the citizens?”
Jones: “I am not a nuisance to the citizens.”
Cop: “I have sworn to protect the citizens from people like you, Mr. Jones. Please don’t dig around in your car.”
Jones: “I was looking for a pen. Give me the fucking shit. Can’t believe you. Ridiculous.”
Cop: “Well believe it. Cuz it’s the truth, sir.”
Jones: “Ridiculous. You’re a fucking liar. Good luck trying to prove that I was speeding because you know that I wasn’t.”
Jones later issued an apology.
"I was not drag racing nor was I speeding. I did not get a speeding ticket," he said. "I was driving within the speed limit of the 35mph zone. I feel that police used a technicality to ticket me for drag racing, for simply revving my engine and acknowledging some of my local fans. I regrettably said words to the police officer out of frustration, for which I apologize for, but I do feel this was excessive."
The UFC also issued a statement.
"We are aware of the situation and are looking into the matter. We've also been in touch with Jon's team regarding the matter."
Daniel Cormier (left) will defend his light heavyweight title against Jon Jones at UFC 197.
Jones is preparing to fight Daniel Cormier at UFC 197 on April 23rd in an attempt to get back the light heavyweight championship he was stripped of after last year's hit and run accident.
Watch the video of Jones being pulled over last week above and let us know what you think in the comment section below.
**UPDATE**
Jon Jones turned himself in to Albuquerque police on Tuesday, March 29, after a judge issued a warrant for his arrest following the drag racing citation he received last week.
"Jon and his team are taking this very seriously and we will let the legal process play out," a rep from EAG Sports Management, which represents the fighter said, via TMZ. "We are confident he will be released once he has an opportunity to explain to the judge the facts in this case."
"For the police to be correct, the judge is going to have to find Jon revving his engine constitutes drag racing. He wasn't speeding, he was not driving recklessly. All Jon did was rev his engine to acknowledge a fan," Jones' lawyer, Vincent Ward, told ESPN.
Jones' probation stems from a hit-and-run accident on April 26, 2015. According to various reports, he ran a red light and crashed a rented Buick SUV into another vehicle driven by a pregnant woman. He then fled the scene on foot.
The victim, Vanessa Sonnenburg, suffered a broken arm as a result of the accident.
At this time the UFC has not indicated what it would do if legal issues force Jones out of his upcoming championship fight with Daniel Cormier, scheduled for April 23.
"UFC is aware that Jon Jones turned himself into the Albuquerque Police Department this morning for a potential probation violation stemming from a traffic stop last week," the organization said in a statement issued Tuesday. "UFC has been in touch with Jones' legal team and will have no further comment until the organization has had appropriate time to gather necessary information."
Things appear to have taken a life threatening turn in the tangled web involving up and coming singer Kehlani, Cleveland Cavaliers star Kyrie Irving and OVO Sound recording artist PartyNextDoor.
Kyrie Irving and Kehlani
Irving and Kehlani have been dating since January, following her breakup with PND a couple of months prior.
On Monday, March 28, PND posted an Instagram photo that showed him in bed with his ex. The pic doesn't show their faces, but Kehlani's "WOKE" hand tattoo is easily recognizable.
The caption suggested that Kehlani was cheating on Irving with him.
“After all the shenanigans, still got the R&B singer back in my bed,” PND wrote.
The photo started a social media circus. Apparently it was too much for Kehlani, who attempted suicide.
“I wanted to leave this Earth. Being completely selfish for once. Never thought I’d get to such a low point. But don’t believe the blogs you read. No one was cheated on and I’m not a bad person. Everyone is hurt and everyone is in a place of misunderstanding,” she wrote. “But as of today, I had no wish to see tomorrow. But God saved me for a reason and for that…I must be grateful. Cuz I’m not in Heaven right now for a reason. On that note, bye Instagram,” she captioned a hospital bed IG photo, before deleting her account.
However, this morning her IG was back up with a single photo thanking PND for saving her life.
She later posted a message explaining why she went back to PartyNextDoor.
Suicide is definitely not the answer. Hopefully Kehlani gets the help she needs and tunes out the negativity on social media.
Swizz Beatz made quite the splash earlier in the year when he appeared on Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo album, along with adlibs heard on the Rihanna-assisted smash “Famous.”
No word on where this is going to end up as of yet but we will keep our ears open to find out.
Back in January Jaden Smith was selected by Louis Vuitton to be the face for their 2016 Spring/Summer womenswear collection. Naturally, Lord Jamar wasn't a fan, as he fears how much influence it'll have on future generations. He also said he'd turn it down himself even if he was offered $3 million for the job. "You act like three million dollars really means something in the grand scheme of life," Lord Jamar adds. "Thanks but no thanks."
Lord Jamar also believes the world is losing real men and replacing them wit corrupted ones through social media and television, telling DJ Vlad "they don't want manly men." Catch him speak more on the topic and the role his father played in his life below.
Singer Jhene Aiko and rapper Big Sean have formed a new group called Twenty88. A self-titled album from the duo will be released on April 1. It will stream exclusively on Tidal for 72 hours. Fans can purchase a copy beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Friday.
According to the press release, the album, “tells the story of the highs and lows of a relationship, with insights into conflict, memories, love, sex, and more and features production from Key Wane, Detail and Tommy Brown.”
Desiigner’s hit single “Panda” has been the instrumental of choice lately for artists to freestyle over, especially after Kanye took it the next level on his latest album The Life Of Pablo.
Now Cap 1 is taking a stab at the hard hittin Menace production.
After releasing "50 On My Wrist" last week, Sonny Digital is back with more heat. He teams up with Mathaius Young for a new song titled "Everyday." Give it a listen up top.
