Rick Ross walked out of a Fayette County, Georgia courtroom a free man Tuesday, April 4, after cutting a plea deal in a case that involved the alleged kidnapping and physical assault of two groundskeepers.
The 41-year old rapper, born William Roberts, faced felony counts of kidnapping, aggravated assault, aggravated battery and other charges stemming from a June 2015 attack at his Fayetteville estate. He was also accused of pistol whipping one of the men.
During negotiations with Ross' lawyers today, prosecutors agreed to drop most of the charges to misdemeanors and he accepted.
According to TMZ, the Maybach Music Group CEO, pleaded no contest to 5 misdemeanors and 1 felony count of aggravated assault. He was sentenced to 60 months probation and a fine of $10,000.
“The resolution to the case was reached after discussion with the prosecution team, victims and law enforcement,” Fayette County District Attorney Benjamin D. Coker said, via the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “It was the best resolution to the case considering the facts and circumstances at hand.”
Ross' bodyguard, Nadrian Lateef James, was also charged in the incident and received the same sentence,
"First and foremost, I wanna say God is great," Ross said outside of the courtroom. "I respect and appreciate how the court chose to resolve, not only myself, but my co-defendant's cases."

Entrepreneur Network partner Kelsey Humphreys chats with rapper, entrepreneur Fabolous about his eight keys to sustained success.
Kelsey: Talk about your social media brand. What to post. What not to post.
Fab: I mix all of it up. My social media tag is 'MyFabolousLife,' so I kinda try to show what I do in my daily life. I show people what I'm doing. The things that I'm involved in. Advertise whatever I'm doing as well. My following came from me just doing that.
Kelsey: How do you keep track of your ideas? How do you know if something is a good idea or bad idea? On the creative side of things.
Fab: On the creative side, you just gotta shoot your shot kinda.
Kelsey: Blood's Thicker, your new fashion line. How did that come about? What was the inspiration?
Fab: Blood's Thicker, it was a merchandise line. It comes from blood's thicker than water, which is a line that plays on the family. That's where that came from and I kinda started using it as we're a merchandise line. I kinda looked at my fans as family.
Recently, I put out these series of mixtapes called Summertime Shootout. The artwork for the cover was a design that was played off of pop art of Roy Lichtenstein. We took it and made our own version of it and people gravitated to it and loved it. We ended up putting it on shirts. And people wanted the shirts and whatever we would put it on.
Fabolous also talked about doing pop-up merch shows in his hometown on Brooklyn, New York, making fans a part of the show, his first record deal, DJ Clue and more.

Rather than wait around while Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones looked for a team to trade him to, instead of releasing him, Tony Romo, has decided to retire from the NFL.
According to the Associated Press, Romo will announce his decision on Tuesday, April 4.
The talented, but oft-injured quarterback lost his starting job to rookie Dak Prescott last season while on the mend from a back injury, that caused him to miss the first 10 weeks.
The Houston Texans and Denver Broncos were said to be interested in pursuing Romo if the Cowboys released him. But neither team was willing to trade for him because of his history of injuries.
Romo will now pursue a career in the broadcast booth. Fox, CBS and NBC are said to be interested in hiring him as an analyst.
The 36-year old superstar finishes his 14-year career with 34,183 passing yards, 248 passing touchdowns and a career 97.1 QBR.

For the latest Day Of, Mass Appeal linked with A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.
"I go by the name of A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, coming straight out of the X," says the artist whose parents named him... Artist. Just before his appearance on Live at the BBQ we caught up with him for a rare interview."
I was in high school wearing hoodies every day, so they basically just called me A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie from that," he reveals.
"I was in high school spitting bars."
Born with a name like Artist, you might think his rap career was a given, but the Bronx native had some obstacles to overcome.
"There was a time I was on house arrest for a year," he says. "I was just thinking, like, 'Damn, what am I gonna do with my life?' ...This situation right here—I needed this right here."
After he dropped his first mixtape, Artist, the buzz around him got very loud. "I created a new sound," he says. "A month after I dropped the mixtape they was on it. I sold out B.B. King's—that was my first show too. I was getting mad phone calls. Like, Damn! 'I heard it was crazy,' this and that.""Every label was looking at us," Boogie says. He and his team decided to go with Atlantic—not just for money but because, as he puts it, "they had the right mindset.... They made us bosses."
But even though he's in control of his own destiny, he tries to keep everything fun by looking at his career as a sport. Peep the full video up top.
