The numbers are in for the season finale of the STARZ series, Power. Nearly 1.1 million viewers tuned in for the episode, according to TV By The Numbers.
The show struck a chord with both African American and White viewers
As the season progressed it generated 71% viewership among African Americans. That represents the largest number for a scripted premium series since 2006.
The show stars Omari Hardwick as Ghost. A man who came up in the drug game under the tutelage of Kanan (50 Cent). With Kanan in prison, Ghost is now the kingpin. But he struggles as he walks the line between becoming a bigger drug dealer or going legit.
Ghost's wife Natasha (Naturi Naughton) and best friend Tommy (Joseph Sikora) want things to stay the same. Then there are the story lines of Ghost looking to rekindle a relationship with long lost love, Angela, played by Lela Loren, and Natasha's constant flirting with Kanan's son Shawn (Sinqua Walls), who works as Ghost's driver.
Power is executive produced by 50 Cent, longtime business partner Randall Emmet, Mark Canton and the show's creator Courtney Kemp Agboh.
STARZ has already renewed it for a second season. Given the amount of cliffhangers from the series finale, season two is sure to start off with a bang.
For fans who would like to catch up on episodes they missed this season or for those tuning in for the first time, ENCORE BLACK will rebroadcast it starting on August 12 at 10 pm ET/PT. A new episode will be shown every Tuesday at 10 pm ET/PT for eight weeks

During last month's Total Slaughter battle, Murder Mook shocked everyone, including Busta Rhymes, when he said that Loaded Lux had recorded a diss track going at Bussa Buss.
After the battle Lux said he spoke with Busta to clear the air
"I had seen Busta right after the whole performance and everything,” Lux said to VladTV. “Expressed to him, I said man, ‘My sincerity and my callousness…’ I apologized to him and everything and expressed to him that however it may seem, man to man, this wasn’t nothing I co-signed. But I apologized for my callousness. It was my vocals and everything. I will say this though, first and foremost: when we did it in its initial it wasn’t done with malice intention. I don’t know anybody on the record personally, for anybody I named on there. And I don’t know them personally to go there in that regard. I come from a competitive background. I battle. That’s the whole thing. We did it in the position taking lyrics, lyrical exercise. The whole thing with the record came around with the spin of the Kendrick Lamar verse on the Big Sean record. All of that was happening. This is old...I did the record around that time, but never released it. Then I’m hearing word, they saying I did release it. If I would’ve released it it would have been out then, when that was all going on … but I never signed off on that."
The song has now fully leaked. Take a listen to it up top and let us know what you think about in the comment section below.

Mariah Carey has parted ways with Jermaine Dupri as her manager. The two have been longtime friends and in 2013 Mariah hired the So So Def CEO to guide her career. During the time that they've known each other Dupri produced hit songs for Mariah, including "We Belong Together" and "Always Be My Baby."
Things just didn't work out once her became her manager.
The split comes following the disappointing sales of Mariah's latest album, Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse. Since it's May release the project has only sold 103,000 copies.
Dupri issued a statement to Billboard confirming the split:
“I’m a very hands-on person when it comes to my work,” Dupri said. “I put my all into every project. But when I’m not allowed to do what I do, then I know it’s time for me to move on. Mariah and I enjoy working together and will continue to make great music together in the future.”
Kevin Liles is reportedly taking over management duties for the pop icon.

If you saw Total Slaughter's first event in July you know that Sway Calloway was the host. However, he wasn't the first choice. Jack Thriller was hand picked by the show's organizers for the event, but ultimately it didn't happen.
Jack sat down with Battle Rap to explain why the deal fell apart.
“I was supposed to host the Slaughterhouse situation, right? They called me one night and they were like, ‘Yo, Eminem is about to do the battle rap show, man, and he wants you to be one of the hosts on the show.’ [They] told me I had a job,” Jack Thriller explains. “Ain’t nothing good ever happened to me that goddamn big! I got excited. So I immediately, after I got off the phone with them, I went and found a picture of me and Eminem and I posted it up on Instagram at about four in the morning. Guy couldn’t sleep, this was the greatest thing that had ever happened to me. This had to be January 18, 2014. Nothing good ever happens to me, not like this. Did I deserve it? Yes I did!”
“I posted it up and it went viral,” he continues. “I didn’t even promote it, all I did was post a picture on Instagram. Shady Records hit me up at 11:00 a.m., ‘What the fuck is wrong with you? Are you fuckin’ out of your mind? What the fuck is wrong with you? You didn’t even sign a contract yet. Slaughterhouse is going crazy, people think it’s your show and Eminem’s show, this has nothing to do with you. You know what? Can you go back online and say that you was just playing? But it’s a possibility that we might not be able to use you for the show.’ So you want me to go tell a lie, and then tell people I was just bullshitting about a job I might not get? Shit me! Fuck that. I left that shit up there and as you can see I still didn’t get the job. They had Sway [Calloway] and [DJ] Kay Slay do it and they did a great job and shit. Would it have been better if it was me? Yes. Yes. Would it have been a better event if it was me? Yes.”
Do you think Total Slaughter would have been more entertaining with Jack as the host? Should he be front and center at their next event?
