HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (ABC7) - Grammy-award-winning rapper and L.A. native Nipsey Hussle and legendary actress Carrie Fisher will be honored with posthumous stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The two beloved stars are among a list of 38 new honorees included in the Hollywood Walk of Fame class of 2022 announced on Thursday.

Other stars included in the motion picture category who will see their stars unveiled include Francis Ford Coppola, Macaulay Culkin, Willem Dafoe, Salma Hayek, James Hong, Helen Hunt, Michael B. Jordan, Regina King, Ray Liotta, Ewan McGregor, Adam McKay, Jason Momoa and Tessa Thompson.

Also, other stars included in the recording category include the Black Eyed Peas, George E. Clinton Jr., Ashanti Douglas, DJ Khaled, Avril Lavigne, Los Huracanes Del Norte and Martha Reeves.

The television category is represented by Byron Allen, Greg Berlanti, Ricky Gervais, Peter Krause, Robert Odenkirk, Holly Robinson-Peete, Norman Reedus, Tracee Ellis Ross, Jean Smart, Ming-Na Wenn and Kenan Thompson.

The live theater, live performance world will honor Patti Lupone, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Jr. and Angelica Vale.

And ABC's Michael Strahan will be recognized in the category or sports entertainment.

Oscar De La Hoya will face ex-UFC champion Vitor Belfort in a boxing match on Sept. 18, and likely to occur in Las Vegas, according to Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix.

The fight will be billed as an exhibition match with both fighters wearing 12-ounce gloves, according to The Athletic's Mike Coppinger, who was the first to report the news of the fight.

The 48-year-old De La Hoya has not fought since losing to Manny Pacquaio in December 2008.

In March, De La Hoya announced plans to return to the boxing ring on July 3. Instead of a July fight, however, he will fight in September, which would mark more than a year from when De La Hoya first planned to come out of his retirement from boxing.

"The Golden Boy" won gold at the 1992 Olympics before winning the WBO junior lightweight title in 1994. He would win his first 32 professional bouts before finally being defeated by Felix Trinidad by majority decision.

Since he retired, De La Hoya battled addiction struggles while his career as a promoter thrived. But he began training his way back into shape, rediscovering the drive to return to the ring.

Belfort, 44, is tied for the third-most finishes in UFC. Per The Athletic, Belfort said in May that he was interested in fighting De La Hoya. Belfort's last fight was the UFC 224 in May 2018 when he lost to Lyoto Machida.

Belfort's only win of his boxing career came in April 2006 against Josemario Neves.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Acting as his own lawyer, a double-murder defendant opened his death penalty trial by shouting at jurors that he did not attack his girlfriend and disabled daughter. Now he’s cross-examined his son, forcing the 11-year-old to describe exactly how he hurt him.

Ronnie Oneal III claimed in a dramatic opening statement that the evidence would reveal “some of the most vicious, lying, fabricating, fictitious government you ever seen.”

Gesturing and pacing, Oneal shouted at one point during Monday’s opening: “I look alone. But I am backed by a mighty God.”

He claimed the girlfriend, Kenyatta Barron, attacked their two children and that he killed her in self-defense. The killings happened March 18, 2018, in their home in Tampa’s Riverview area.

Assistant State Attorney Scott Harmon countered that prosecutors would prove Oneal wounded Barron with a shotgun, then beat her to death. Harmon also said Oneal used a hatchet to kill his 9-year-old daughter — who had cerebral palsy and could not speak — and wounded his son, then 8, with a knife.

Investigators say Oneal also set the house on fire after the attacks. The son survived and testified Wednesday by remote video that he saw his father kill his sister with the hatchet and recalled his mother being shot.

During cross-examination, Oneal asked his son “Did I hurt you that night?” The boy responded, “Yes.”

“How did I hurt you?” Oneal asked.

“You stabbed me,” his son replied. He also described how his father set fire to the house using gasoline.

Investigators say the wounded boy came out of the burning house and described what had happened.

“The first words that came out of this brave boy’s mouth: ‘My daddy killed my mommy,’” Harmon told jurors.

Jurors also heard a 911 call from Barron in which she desperately sought help as Oneal yelled in the background.

“OK, Ronnie, I’m sorry,” she says on the recording. “I’m so sorry. Help me. I can’t move my arm. My arm is shot up, Ronnie. Please.”

Oneal contended that investigators fabricated evidence to implicate him and that his son was coached on what to say.

“The evidence is going to show that I love my children,” Oneal told jurors. “The evidence will not show you that my son witnessed me beat his mom to death, nor did he witness me shoot his mom. In fact, he didn’t witness much at all.”

The trial is expected to last through the end of next week. Oneal could get the death penalty if convicted.

The mother of a man who was fatally shot had an emotional outburst in court Tuesday after Tevin Biles-Thomas, brother of Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, was acquitted of a 2018 triple homicide.

Biles-Thomas, 26, was acquitted on all charges after Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Joan Synenberg said prosecutors did not have sufficient evidence to convict him. Biles-Thomas was accused of fatally shooting three men during an altercation at a 2018 New Year’s Eve party in an Airbnb property.

Delvante Johnson, 19; Toshaun Banks, 21; and Devaughn Gibson, 23, were killed in the alleged dispute.

Synenberg granted a motion Tuesday by Biles-Thomas’ attorneys to dismiss the case based on insufficient evidence, noting in her ruling that a witness’ description of clothing worn by the shooter was “75 percent accurate at best,” according to courtroom video published by WEWS.

A mistrial had already been declared in May after jurors said they were inadvertently given legal briefs between prosecutors and Biles-Thomas’ legal team.

Following the ruling, a woman stood up and rushed toward Biles-Thomas, yelling, “You have to be f------ kidding me.”

“I’m going to kill you,” she said.

The Cuyahoga County court confirmed in a statement that “a person in the gallery charged toward the defendant” after the ruling and thanked the sheriff’s department for its assistance.

The woman was identified as Johnson’s mother by Joseph Patituce, one of Biles-Thomas’ defense attorneys. Patituce said Synenberg’s ruling paid “incredible attention” to the evidence presented and that the state failed to prove its case, but they understood the pain for the families who lost their loved ones.

He was a multi-faceted individual who accomplished more in his 25 years on earth than most people could in a lifetime.

As a rapper, actor, poet and activist, 2Pac was a chameleon. He could make songs like "Strictly for My N.I.G.G.A.Z." for the streets, "Keep Ya Head Up" to uplift women and "Who Do Believe In," which made all of us reflect on our lives.

April 7, 2017, 2Pac was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. A well deserved honor commemorating the hip hop icon's incredible music career.

Midwest Rapper, SyckCezzy connects with Stevie Stone on his Latest Banga, "Blue Faces"

Ice-T and Henry "Hen Gee" Garcia's label, Final Level Music has emerged another hardcore artist and his name is SyckCezzy. The soon-to-be Los Angeles artist was born in Missouri and raised in Richmond Virginia. Growing up on the southside of Richmond wasn't the ultimate dream for the young Syck but it was an experience. Although he grew up on welfare, his mother and stepfather made it work. While his stepfather was working, his mother took care of the family which proved challenging in a neighborhood where something was always going on.

In 2010, SyckCezzy begins to take rap more seriously after his cousin introduces him to it. His style lyrically represents his truth and the lifestyle he lives.
