It's almost impossible to last in the rap game without having really thick skin. Trolls, haters, critics and other artists who might be looking to take your spot can be venomous via comments on social networking sites, diss songs or in the media.
In 2011, Iggy Azalea, was just starting to gain some attention. She wasn't close to becoming mainstream at the time, but the song "Pu$$y" off of her "Ignorant Art" mixtape showed that she had potential.
In 2012, the Australian rapper became the first female to be named to XXL's Freshman Class. Just like that she became embroiled in a Twitter beef with Harlem rapperAzealia Banks.
Banks tweeted that Azalea didn't deserve the spot and criticized her for what she considered to be racist lyrics.
"Tire marks, tire marks, finish line with the fire marks / When the relay starts I’m a runaway slave-master," Azalea rapped on the 2011 song, "D.R.U.G.S."
When 2014 rolled around Azalea's career took off with the help of the smash hit single "Fancy"off of her debut album,"The New Classic."
The success brought her millions of new fans and also a legion of critics. Some wondered if she was a "culture vulture" that got an easy ride to the top because of her skin color.
Azalea now admits that the negativity ate away at her. In a new interview with Power 106's"The Cruz Show," she admits to contemplating suicide.
"There were so many times I was like, 'That's the lowest [point].' Then it was like 'No, no, we're going a little lower.'" Azalea said. "Then I was like 'Oh, it's over.' And then it was like Erykah Badu [comments] at Soul Train like, 'Nah, syke ... still there!' And I was like 'Oh, it's still a thing! Why? Why is it even still a thing? I haven't released music for a year ... it's still a thing.' I don't know when the lowest was. There were times when I wanted to quit life ... the whole thing, really. Sometimes I would drive through the canyons to get to my horses and I'd be like, 'What if I just kept driving off the canyon?' Sometimes I would feel like that. It wasn't the comments. People made it seem ... and it's like people in the industry that I work with too were like, 'This is it for your career now, so what are you gonna do?' I live in this country on a work visa and if I don't have a job that means I go home. And my whole life is here.
That's like a lot for someone to deal with," she continued. "I spent a decade living in America. For somebody to come, when I didn't feel like I did anything to be deserving of that much hate. To be like, 'OK we're taking everything from you.' What you do, your friends, everything could be totally gone, that's a lot. And it can make a person feel like 'Well, what do I have left to live for?'"
Azalea credits her fiance, Nick Young, with helping her make it through the rough moments.

On June 4, 1996, the late 2Pac officially released "How Do U Want It" featuring K-Ci & JoJo, and some time later dropped the r-rated video to accompany it. Heather Hunter starred in the music video with fellow porn stars Nina Hartley and Angel Kelly, and was asked to appear in it personally by the man himself. "He contacted me and he wanted me to be in his video," she remembered as she began to get choked up. "He inspired me to come back to LA."
When DJ Vlad asked Hunter about the private party between her, 2Pac, Angel and Nina, she laughed it off and coyly responded with "yeah it was a nice party." Hear about her time on set with 2Pac and what happened when she found out about his untimely death below.
"Every time I talk about him I get choked up," Heather said. "I just feel like he really put himself into this hole that he couldn't get out of. I really feel like he was misunderstood. I think back to being an entertainer, you have this image that you have to be something more than really that you are. When you close your door you go home. People don't see that person. And I think that was the part people really needed to see about him."

Afeni Shakur's divorce from her husband of 12 years, Gust Davis, may prove to be a financial nightmare because there is no prenup.
Afeni controls the estate of her late son, Tupac Shakur. It brings in around $900,000 yearly. The former Black Panther takes home $20,000 a month. Davis is seeking half of that amount for life.
TMZ reports that in addition to the money, Davis wants to keep his Jaguar, the rights to live in the soon-to-be ex-couple's 50 acre North Carolina ranch and the keys to their houseboats.
Afeni filed for the divorce in North Carolina, following a year of separation from Davis.
Rosen Law Firm defines North Carolina Property Division Law, also known as Equitable Distribution as follows:
Property that is acquired during marriage by one or both spouses, and owned on the date of separation, may be defined as marital property subject to the equitable distribution law of North Carolina.
Excluded, however, from the definition of marital property are gifts and inheritances, received by one spouse only, from third parties, whether such property is acquired during the marriage or not. Such gifts and inheritances are that spouse’s separate property and do not get divided with the other spouse. Gifts from one spouse to the other spouse during the marriage, on the other hand, are presumed to be gifts to the marital unit. Property owned by either party prior to marriage is that party’s separate property, provided that it is not gifted to the marital unit.
Equitable distribution law presumes, further, that an equal (50/50) division of the marital property will be equitable. Most judges in this state favor awarding each party fifty percent of the marital property, unless certain factors make a good case for an unequal distribution.
A prenup would have really come in handy for Afeni.

As if Katt Williams didn't have enough legal trouble as it is.
The comedian is now being sued by a woman for assault and battery, false imprisonment and emotional distress.
TMZ reports that Jamila Majesty claims she was invited to Williams' Malibu home nearly 2 years ago. When she arrived there were already 5 other women present.
The trouble allegedly began when she went to use the bathroom. Williams reportedly told her, "no one uses [my] bathroom," before she got jumped by the other women in the house.
The ordeal lasted 3 hours, according to Majesty. During which time the alleged victim says she lost consciousness several times, was bloodied and intentionally burned on her face by Williams with a Newport cigarette.
Things got even more bizarre when Majesty noticed one of the women with an open book that contained "teachings on sorcery and spells." There was also "unusual things" being used to keep the fire going.
Majesty eventually escaped battered and bruised. She says she didn't come forward with the allegations sooner because she was afraid of retaliation by Williams.
