Skylar Diggins of the WNBA's Tulsa Shock has been a standout on the basketball court for a long time. The 5'9, 145 pound guard was a McDonald's All-American at Washington High School in South Bend, Indiana.
She followed that up with a stellar 4-year career at Notre Dame and won gold medals in competitions with Team USA in 2008 (Buenos Aires), 2009 (Bangkok), 2011 (Shenzhen, China) and 2012 (Athens).
Skylar was selected No. 3 overall by Tulsa in the 2013 WNBA Draft. She is represented by Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports agency.
Her stunning looks caught Lil Wayne's attention while she was at Notre Dame. This year Sports Illustrated came calling, asking Skylar to model for their 50th Anniversary 2014 Swimsuit Issue.
"I didn't really know how I was going to approach modeling swimsuits. I had never modeled in a swimsuit before," she said. "I think I kind of just wanted to get in and get comfortable. As the shoot went along I got more and more comfortable. And I think that really helped me get some great shots."
The shoot took place in Guana Island with photographer Adam Franzino.

Nicki Minaj and her legal team have a court battle ahead of them. The Young Money star is being sued by her former stylist who says he is responsible for creating her unique look.
According to TMZ, Terrence Davidson says that in 2010 he created "fresh, hip and unique wigs" for the rapper. Davidson claims Minaj stole his designs and took the credit for them herself.
He also accuses Nicki of costing him a multi-million dollar reality show by convincing him it would damage their business partnership.
The two parted ways in January of 2013. At the time Davidson issued a statement citing "creative differences" for the split.
“It has been an amazing experience offering me a chance to express my creativity and exhibit my love for the art form of wig design,” he said at the time.
