Video After The Jump

(Reuters) The Chicago Cubs shed themselves of the "Curse of the Billy Goat" and ended a 108-year wait for a World Series title by beating the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday in a thrilling Game Seven classic.

By beating the host Indians 8-7 in 10 innings, Chicago's beloved Cubbies set off a wild celebration in the streets of the Windy City after over a century of pent up frustration for fans since their last Major League Baseball championship in 1908.

Cubs players held their own euphoric party at Progressive Field cheered on by a boisterous contingent of their fans after earlier squandering a 6-3 lead with four outs left in the game only to bounce back for the precious victory.

12352416266?profile=original

"This is one of the best games anybody will ever see," said Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant, who fielded Michael Martinez's grounder and fired it to first for the final out. "This trumps everything. I'm out here crying. I can't really put into words what this means."

Leftfielder Ben Zobrist, who put the Cubs ahead in the 10th with an RBI double and who batted .357 in the series with two doubles and a triple, was named the most valuable player of the World Series.

The win in the early hours of Thursday morning capped a Chicago comeback from a 3-1 deficit in the best-of-seven, a feat last achieved by the Kansas City Royals in 1985.

12352417260?profile=original

It was the third World Series crown for the Cubs, while the disconsolate Indians replaced them as the team with the longest current World Series title drought, 68 years and counting.

"I don't know but it happened," said first baseman Anthony Rizzo. "Chicago, it happened. We did it, we’re world champions."

WAKE-UP CALL

The Cubs, whose quiet bats woke up in Tuesday's 9-3 Game Six win, picked up where they left off with three home runs in front of an audience surprisingly crowded with their raucous blue-clad fans who paid handsomely to buy tickets on the resale market.

With chants of "Let's Go Cubbies" ringing through Progressive Field, Chicago charged to a 5-1 lead and carried a 6-3 advantage into the eighth when Cubs manager Joe Maddon summoned closer Aroldis Chapman with two outs and a man on.

But the Cuban fireballer, who pitched 2-2/3 innings on Sunday and another inning and a third on Tuesday, gave up a run-scoring double to Brandon Guyer and a two-run homer to Rajai Davis that tied the game and ignited an explosion of cheers from the Cleveland faithful.

Rain began falling in the ninth and play was halted before the start of the 10th to cover the field before extra innings resumed 17 minutes later.

With Bryan Shaw on the mound and two on base with one out, Zobrist reached out and slapped a shot past diving third baseman Jose Ramirez to snap the tie and Miguel Montero singled home another run to make it 8-6.

Carl Edwards started the 10th for Chicago but the irrepressible Indians staged another rally, drawing within one run on an RBI-single from Davis.

In came lefthander Mike Montgomery, who induced Martinez to ground out and launch the celebration with thousands of Cubs supporters staying on to sing the "Go Cubs Go" team song after the four hour 28 minute battle.

The downcast Indians could only watch from the dugout steps.

12352417300?profile=original

"That was an incredible game, I mean, to be a part of it," said Cleveland manager Terry Francona. "It's going to hurt. It hurts because we care, but they need to walk with their head held high because they left nothing on the field."

Charlamagne Tha God gave Lil Wayne "Donkey of the Day" for Tuesday, November 2, for his recent comments that he's never experienced racism in his life and wasn't aware of the Black Lives Matters movement.

CTG cited a 2015 song titled "My Heart Races On" in which Weezy talks about racism and police brutality.

"Oh Lord, what are we running from? / The police cause they already killed enough of us / Stay out them streets cause they don’t fuck with us, they hunting us / We in a race against racists, that’s a color run," Wayne raps in the song.

On the 2006 song "Georgia ... Bush," Wayne slams then President George W. Bush for not helping New Orleans enough following Hurricane Katrina.

"Then they telling y'all lies on the news / The white people smiling like everything cool / But I know people that died in that pool / I know people that died in them schools / Now what is the survivor to do/ got to no trailer, you gotta move / Now it's on to Texas and to (Georgia) / They tell you what they want, show you what they want you to see / But they don't let you know what's really going on / Make it look like a lotta stealing going on / Boy them cops is killas in my home / Nigga shot dead in the middle of the street / I ain't no thief, I'm just trying to eat / Man fuck the police and President (Georgia) Bush," Weezy roars.

Contrast that to the Young Money Records CEO's comments on "Nightline" Tuesday, November 1, when asked about BLM.

"That just sounds weird that you put a name on it.," he told host Linsey Davis. "It's not a name; it's not 'whatever, whatever.' It's somebody got shot by a policeman for a fucked up reason. I am a young, black, rich motherfucker. If that don't let you know that America understand black motherfucker's these days, I don't know what it is. That man white; he filming me. I'm a nigga. I don't know what you mean, man. Don't come at me with that dumb shit ma'am. My life matter. Especially to my bitches.

Did Wayne forget his own songs? Or is he trying to appease a corporate sponsor, as Charlamagne suggests?

(Reuters) Police in Iowa said on Wednesday they have captured a man suspected of killing two police officers hours earlier as they sat in their patrol cars in what authorities called separate and unprovoked attacks.

Scott Michael Greene, who is 46 and white, was taken into custody after police named him as their suspect in the ambushes, a police spokeswoman in Urbandale, Iowa said. (For live coverage of the Iowa police shootings click here:)

Police said they found the first slain officer's body about 1:06 a.m. (2.06 a.m. ET) in Urbandale, an affluent Des Moines suburb, and the second about 20 minutes later about two miles (3 km) away, in Des Moines. Police declined to release the names of the officers awaiting notification of their families.

12352413095?profile=original

It was unclear what provoked Wednesday's attacks, Des Moines police department spokesman Paul Parizek told a news conference prior to Greene's arrest, adding that "we may never know." But it appeared the suspect had a recent run-in with police.

A 10-minute video posted on YouTube last month by a user calling himself Scott Greene showed an interaction with officers following an incident at a sports stadium in which he described holding up a Confederate battle flag during the playing of the U.S. national anthem. He is heard claiming that he was assaulted.

12352413859?profile=original

An image from a YouTube video posted by a user in Iowa named Scott Greene, showing a man with a Confederate Flag near black spectators at a football game.

Reuters was unable to immediately confirm whether the video was made by the suspect, whose face does not appear in it. It records a male voice arguing with police over the incident.

The Confederate flag is a racially charged symbol for its association with the pro-slavery South in the U.S. Civil War.

Video After The Jump

Rap superstar and Young Money Records boss, Lil Wayne, sat down with ABC's "Nightline" Tuesday, November 1, for an interview with Linsey Davis.

He discussed being confined in Rikers Island on a gun charge in 2010, but it's his answers to questions about Black Lives Matter that has Twitter buzzing this morning.

Nightline: What's your thoughts on Black Lives Matter?

Lil Wayne: What is it? What do you mean?

Nightline: The idea was that there's this movement called Black Lives Matter, thinking that the rest of America didn't seem to understand that ... that black lives matter.

Wayne: That just sounds weird that you put a name on it. It's not a name; it's not "whatever, whatever." It's somebody got shot by a policeman for a fucked up reason.

Nightline: Do you feel though, connected to...

Wayne: I don't feel connected to a damn thing, that ain't got nothin; to do with me. If you do, you crazy as shit. You. Not the camera, you. Feeling connected to something that ain't got nothin' to do with you? If it ain't nothin' to do with me I ain't connected to it.

There was a lot of head scratching going on when 21 Savage posted an Instagram photo of the Ferrari Drake gave him for his 24th birthday.

On the surface it seemed odd given that 21 and Meek Mill are homies. Also, Drake has only collaborated with the 24-year old rapper once, on the newly released song "Sneakin."

Maybe Drake is trying to sign 21 to his OVO Sound imprint?

TMZ recently caught up with 21 outside of a Los Angeles studio to get the scoop. He wasn't very forthcoming, but here's how the conversation went.

TMZ: Is this the ride Drake gave you? How do you like it, bro?

21 Savage: Who the hell you with? TMZ or something?

TMZ: Yeah, TMZ ... how do you like the ride?

21: It's cool

TMZ: A lot of fans wanna know, why would Drake give you such a baller gift?

21: You gotta ask him that

TMZ: Does this mean you might sign with his label?

21: Ask Drake

TMZ: Do you wanna sign with his label?

21: Ask Drake

TMZ: I know you collaborated with both him and Meek Mill. You think you can bring them together?

21: Them both my homies

12352426257?profile=original

Drake signing 21 Savage would be a major coupe. We'll keep our eye on it to see if there's anything there.

Would yo like to see Drizzy sign the 2016 XXL Freshman rapper?
