Video After The Jump

The Omaha Police Association is being accused of race baiting after posting a video on it's website showing an African American toddler cursing, giving the middle finger and talking about gangs.

The clip was shot by some parents who don't seem to have any idea how to appropriately raise a child. At least three adults can be heard encouraging the toddler to misbehave by calling him a b*tch, talking to him about sex and asking him "what hood you from blood?"

12350558880?profile=original

The video was originally posted on Facebook by the child's uncle. The Omaha police were alerted to it by a citizen who was appalled by it.

In a post entitled "The Thug Cycle Continuing," the police explained that the video might make some people upset.

We here at OmahaPOA.com viewed the video and we knew that despite the fact that it is sickening, heartbreaking footage, we have an obligation to share it to continue to educate the law abiding public about the terrible cycle of violence and thuggery that some young innocent children find themselves helplessly trapped in.

12350559262?profile=original

Critics are attacking the Omaha police for posting the video on the net. Watch the video below and let us know who you think is wrong here. The police for posting the video or the adults who made it.

Police under fire for baby "thug" video

**UPDATE** January 9

There are a lot of new developments to report in this case. The 2-year old boy in the video has been taken in by child protective services, along with his 16-year old mother, a 12-year old and another toddler. A 15-year old boy would be with them, but he's being held in juvenile detention for a gun charge.

12350559665?profile=original

The 12, 15 and 16-year olds are the children of Kim Devers and Ennis Devers Sr. The 2 toddlers are their grandchildren. Kim also has a 19-year old daughter, Kierra Johnson, from a previous relationship.

Kim is currently in police custody awaiting trial on gun charges from December 2013. Ennis is in prison on gun and drug charges.

All of the youths were left in the care of Johnson when her mother was arrested.

The state has been watching the troubled family since August 2013. KETV is reporting that 4 people in the home, including the toddler seen in the video, were injured when a man approached the front door in October 2013, and began shooting.

The 16-year old mother was shot in the shoulder, her son was hit in the foot by shrapnel. There is no information on where the other 2 people were shot, but everyone survived.

2 days before the Facebook video was posted Johnson went to a caseworker to get help because she said she was having problems with the relative who posted the video.

Because of that and the ongoing threat of gang activity in the home the state finally moved in and took the children into protective custody, including Johnson's child.

Young Jeezy is facing several charges for allegedly assaulting his own son. According to TMZ, Jeezy, real name Jay Wayne Jenkins, and his kid got into a physical altercation in September 2012.

The rapper's son told police the fight started in the bathroom. Jeezy allegedly threw him through a glass glass shower door, beat him up, dragged him into a bedroom and continued to assault him.

TMZ obtained the incident report. In it are allegations that the CTE World CEO threatened to kill his son.

"I will kill you," Jeezy said."I will put a bullet in your head right now. If I could get away with it, I would kill you."

The son tried to escape by running downstairs, but was blocked by a bodyguard.

Jeezy turned himself in on Friday (January 3). He's been charged with battery, false imprisonment and making terroristic threats.

His attorney released a statement to TMZ saying he expected the matter to be cleared up.

"We have no doubt this matter will resolve itself appropriately. At this moment, Mr. Jenkins is thankful for the support of his fans and the respect for his family's privacy."

Jeezy is currently free after posting a $45,000 bond.

Macklemore lands on the cover of The Source magazine's fourth annual Man of the Year issue. He talks to publication about the upcoming Grammy Awards, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar and his success.

12350561675?profile=original

What if you win the Grammy for Best Rap Album and Kanye spazzes and says it should have gone to someone else?

Then he’s got a point. [In the Best Rap Album category], we’re up against Kendrick, who made a phenomenal album. If we win a Grammy for Best Rap Album, Hip-Hop is going to be heated. In terms of [that category], I think it should go to Kendrick. He’s family. TDE is family, and I understand why Hip-Hop would feel like Kendrick got robbed [if he didn’t win]. I’m not trying to compare albums; I think you can make an argument for both. With that being said, I am a huge supporter of what Kendrick does. And because of that, I would love to win in a different category. We obviously had massive success on commercial radio, and I think that, in ways, The Heist was a bigger album, but Kendrick has a better rap album.

That’s interesting because you consider yourself a Hip-Hop artist who came out of the underground scene. Actually, you were an Unsigned Hype artist right here in The Source. Do you feel like all the mainstream success has affected your Hip-Hop credibility?

People are going to be skeptical. I’m a white dude from Seattle. People are rightfully skeptical of white people making Hip-Hop. They’re gonna say, “Let me hear him rap. Let me hear an interview.” Before we sold a million copies of the album, when it was just “Thrift Shop,” before it became massive, they were putting us in a box. The song almost got too big. People weren’t able to see the rest of the album for what it was. They put us in the one-hit wonder box. And they didn’t give the rest of the project room to live. People didn’t do their research. If you strip away the Kidz Bop remake and it getting played on every radio station, the very core of “Thrift Shop” is a Hip-Hop song. I’m rapping. I’m rapping, well. I’m spitting. The one-bar loop. The 808s. It was one of the more Hip-Hop-sounding songs on the album. It turned into something so big that the origin almost got lost. And because of that, it distracted people from the album and the content that was there.

Video After The Jump

DMX is currently overseas touring. During as stop in Bulgaria he was interviewed by 359HipHop.com. Things started out smoothly with X talking about how well the tour is going, thanking God for helping to get his passport after being prevented from leaving the U.S. because of a child support debt.

As the questions began to veer towards Dark Man's trouble with the law, the current state of hip hop and Eminem's "Rap God" song he became aggravated.

You're a free man, you're traveling?

I've been a free man. The last few time I got locked up I was locked up for hours at a time. Driving without a license. Who the fuck gets locked up for driving without a license? Me, because I'm famous. Police suck dick that's what the fuck they do. They suck dick. I'm not a criminal. I'm not out there committing crimes and shit. I drive my fucking car. I have a car, I drive. You wanna pull me over and lock. me up? Then do what you do homie, but I'll be right back out doing the same fucking thing I was doing eight hours ago. So, fuck you.

12350550875?profile=original

How has the rap game changed in the last ten years?

The quality of rap fucking sucks right now. There are some nice rappers, but for the most part niggas suck. That's what the fuck it is. Take it how you wanna take it. Bring it...what!

12350551690?profile=original

So Eminem released a track which is called "Rap God." He's the rap God now?

I don't know what Eminem is. I know he's a talented artist. We have a good relationship. Don't ask me no random shit to start no random beef, alright. Please don't do that.

Beyonce photo posing in front of Jesus in mural

Video After The Jump

Beyonce is drawing criticism for taking a photo at a Miami juice bar in front of a painting that resembles Leonardo DaVinci's "The Last Supper" depicting Jesus' last meal with his disciples before the cruxifiction.

The singer sits directly in front of Jesus in the photo she posted on her Instagram account Monday (December 30).

The Huffington Post reports that the painting she's posing in front of is actually an Andy Warhol mural with camouflage. That hasn't stopped the criticism of Jay Z's better half. The photo has been condemned by Christians and thousands of Instagram users

12350557287?profile=originalAndy Warhol mural

"Is nothing sacred anymore? This is clearly an act of disrespect towards Jesus Christ, whom Beyoncé covers up with her pose," Tim Wildmon, president of American Family Association, told the Christian Post in a statement. "This had to be done intentionally. However, you will not see the media condemn her for offending Christians in the same way they did Phil Robertson for offending homosexuals because there is a double-standard. Christians are the only group in America you can bash with impunity."

Instagram users have been divided in their opinion, although most have reacted negatively.

The last couple of weeks have not been good for Beyonce in the public relations department. She's also been criticized for using a 6-second audio sample from the Jan. 28, 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger disaster on her new song "X.O."

Before the music starts you hear the audio: "Flight controllers here looking very carefully at the situation. Obviously a major malfunction."

12350558862?profile=original

Seven people lost their lives when the spacecraft broke up as it descended back to earth. Francis R. Scobee – Mission Commander, Michael J. Smith – Pilot, Ellison S. Onizuka – Mission Specialist 1, Judith A. Resnik – Mission Specialist 2, Ronald E. McNair – Mission Specialist 3, Christa McAuliffe – Payload Specialist 1, Teacher in space and Gregory B. Jarvis – Payload Specialist 2 all perished.

Former NASA employee, Keith Cowing, wants Beyonce to remove the audio clip immediately.

"This choice of historic and solemn audio is inappropriate in the extreme. The choice is little different than taking Walter Cronkite's words to viewers announcing the death of President Kennedy or 911 calls from the World Trade Center attack and using them for shock value in a pop tune."

12350559263?profile=original

Beyonce released a statement to ABC News

"My heart goes out to the families of those lost in the Challenger disaster. The song 'XO' was recorded with the sincerest intention to help heal those who have lost loved ones and to remind us that unexpected things happen, so love and appreciate every minute that you have with those who mean the most to you. The songwriters included the audio in tribute to the unselfish work of the Challenger crew with hope that they will never be forgotten."

June Scobee Rodgers, the widow of Challenger Space Shuttle Commander Dick Scobee, is "disappointed" the singer chose to use the audio.

"We were disappointed to learn that an audio clip from the day we lost our heroic Challenger crew was used in the song "XO." The moment included in this song is an emotionally difficult one for the Challenger families, colleagues and friends. We have always chosen to focus not on how our loved ones were lost, but rather on how they lived and how their legacy lives on today."

The Hype Magazine Interviews DJ Bigg V

The Hype Magazine Interviews Dj Bigg V

DSC06262.jpg
What is the significance of your name and how did you get that name?

I got my name from High School. It started as Vicious V and morphed into Big V then Bigg V later.

    Describe your style?

Aggressive and Energetic with an XXX flare that can only be tamed in a Corporate environment. [Laughs] It is a style that can be enjoyed by people who want to leave all their issues and problems behind, take it out inside the party and leave it there.

What was the first record you start scratching and mixing on the turntables?

The first record that I ever scratched was Al Naafiysh "The Soul."

You are a pretty diverse DJ, describe the music scene in your neck of the woods?

The MS Delta music scene is an eclectic mix of a lot of genres including but not limited to Blues, Hip Hop, House, Ghetto House, Jig, Bounce and of course Southern Style rap tunes.

How is it to work live sets with some of today's biggest stars?

It is always awesome to help orchestrate a performance with an artist to help enhance the experience. I have been fortunate enough to continue to rock parties, radio shows and stages all over the country and It Won't Stop!

Who and what are your influences?

GOD, Love for People and DJ's that have set a standard of beating the odds to make their presence felt by small crowds all the way to the masses are my influences.

What artists are you listening to right now?

The artists that I am listening to today are Yo Gotti, French Montana, Rich Homie Quan, Fiend, Future, Gucci Mane, Rick Ross and a laundry list of Independent Artists from all over the U.S.

Who would you like to work with in the future?

Any upcoming Independent Artist that has the "Testicular Fortitude" aka courage to get out and invest in their own career and put in the work it takes to get to the next level, without hesitating and whining like someone owes them something.

What would be the steps you would take as a Dj to Break an artist in your area?

Meet and greets mixed with good music as well as physical product in the streets, combined with an aggressive online campaign with a grass roots approach for example. (Beauty Shops, Barber Shops, Clubs, Carwashes, College campuses, Urban clothing stores, other retail outlets & restaurants) You must add in radio mixshows to enhance all of the other things as well. In addition, magazine ads are a great tool, "For example The Hype Magazine!!!!"

Do you prefer radio or live DJing?
I prefer live DJing.

Is there anything you would like our readers to know?

Live the Life You Love....Love the Life You Live.....More Money = Less Problems!

Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!”

Rocked a Party (Ventura's Lounge) so hard that Random women got naked, the crazy part is a few got Naked with a WOLF P****. That is not a good look!

Video After The Jump

Jay Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail tour pulled into Greensboro, NC on Sunday (January 5). The crowd got an added bonus to the show when Hov let a young man grab the mic.

According to TMZ, the 12-year old was holding up a sign that read, "Can I rap for you?" Jay obliged and let the kid hop onstage and rap his lyrics to "Clique."

12350564457?profile=original

Jay hugged him afterwards and told him he had something special for him after the show. It's a night I'm sure that young man will never forget. Props to Hov for sharing his stage to help make a kid's dream come true.

DMX is known for a lot the things he's done to get into trouble with the law, but through it all the multi-platinum selling emcee has always put his faith in God out front for the world to see.

Before a recent show in Detroit, Michigan, a city that has been plagued by violence and recently filed for bankruptcy, Dark Man X prayed that there wouldn't be any violence at his concert.
