Common sat down for an interview with MSNBC's "Morning Joe" today to discuss his new memoir One Day It’ll All Make Sense.
The Chicago rapper/actor talked about what inspired him to write the book, his mom being his best friend, being labeled a "socially conscious" rapper, and Nas being the best rapper alive.
“Nas is so poetic with it and I feel like his lyrics, you can write ‘em down on paper and they will last for time," Common said. "It would be like literature that we read."
The two recently linked up for the song "Ghetto Dreams," which is the first single for Common's upcoming 9th studio album The Dreamer, The Believer, due out later this year.

A Missouri mom is in all kinds of trouble after her child brought drugs to his kindergarten class
Police in Sweet Springs, MO say 32-year old Michelle Marie Cheatham's son pulled out a crack pipe, and several bags of methamphetamine worth $3700 when he came to school for show-and-tell on September 6.
Authorities later obtained a search warrant, and found the crack pipe and a butane lighter at Cheatham's home.
Cheatham was charged six days later with two class C felonies. One for endangering the welfare of a child and the other for possession of a controlled substance. She could receive 7 years in jail and a $5000 fine for each charge if convicted.
Police Chief Richard Downing said this is the first time something like this has happened in his career.
"When I called the prosecutor about it, they said, 'You're kidding me, aren't you?" he told KCTV5.
Cheatham posted a bail of $7500 and was released.

50 Cent was a guest photographer for Smooth Magazine's 52nd edition.
The G-Unit boss came up with the "warrior princess" theme for the edition, and photographed all 14 models over the course of four days in 10-12 hour shifts.
"[The opportunity] actually came up when they were shooting the 50th edition. My young boy Banks was in that one," 50 said. "I stopped by the photo shoot and said 'you know what would be interesting is if we did something that's a little more artistic, that showed the women in a stronger position.'"
Look for more photography work from 50 in the future. He compares it to his acting career, and plans to continue taking pictures of beautiful women for the foreseeable future.

Net worth: $550 million.

When someone asked her about it on twitter, the singer replied; "*THUG LIFE* n my Pineapple Xpress voice."
I'd be willing to place a bet the tat is sharpie ink and not the real thing, but who knows?

When music mogul Russell Simmons tries his hand at something the results are generally very successful.
From starting Def Jam Records, to creating Phat Farm clothing, Simmons has demonstrated that he knows a lot about presenting the right idea at the right time.
With that being said, Uncle Rush has decided to buy a television network.
“I am going to buy a TV network," he told the Wall Street Journal. "When mainstream networks say diversity, they mean segregation. ‘Let’s do some more black TV.’ Instead, there’s all these cultures that should be more integrated properly," he explained. “Instead of giving Paris Hilton a show, for example, you could do one with Amber Rose. You’d be better off. One is hot, the other is not. Networks are a little slow in how mainstream culture is shifting. There’s a lack of integration in Hollywood, and I want to address that.”
Simmons added that he is working on the project with Hollywood producers Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, and that an announcement would be made soon.
