Houston bred emcee Z-Ro, whose real name is Joseph Wayne McVey, is facing legal trouble for the third time after the Harris County Sheriff's Department charged the rapper for felony possession.

The self- proclaimed "King of the Ghetto" and Rap-A-Lot records MC has a trial date set for next Monday at the Harris County Courthouse from a February 2009 bust.

Police allege that McVey, 33, was in possession of a codeine mixture weighing more than 28 grams but less than 199 grams, including adulterants and dilutants.

Prior to the current charge, the rapper was charged in 2003 on another codeine charge, for which he eventually spent a couple of stints in prison after violating his probation.

This case came about two weeks after McVey was busted for misdemeanor marijuana possession and later found not guilty after taking the stand in his own defense at trial.

"The jury believed him when he said he didn't do it," Robert Jones, McVey's attorney, told the press. "He's a very honest, forthright person."

Although very honest, according to a report, another conviction could spell years behind bars.

"Right now, the penalty has been enhanced, so I would have to look that up to see what exactly that is, but I anticipate that he is going to trial because he didn't do anything, so the penalty is zero," Jones laughs.

Jones says his client is innocent of this charge. He says authorities found a bottle of pharmaceutical cough syrup in a bottle with someone else's name on the prescription in the back seat of a car in which McVey was riding.

Though set for Monday, Jones anticipates that the trial will be delayed, as he says that the D.A. has reindicted McVey for the same offense.

"They're trying to trump up the charges and make him scared so he'll take something," he says. "It is nothing more than a form of intimidation. It doesn't change the facts of the case at all."

It seems that the legal system is not playing around with rappers these days so we can only hope the best for Z-Ro. I just hope if he beats this case that he would run as far away from the “sizzurp” as possible.

Year after year passes and still no 'Detox' album from legendary producer Dr Dre. With his place in music history already cemented I think the time has come to seriously ask the question. Will there ever be a 'Detox' album? I'm not being cynical or critical of Andre Young at all when I pose this question. After all he is in my opinion the best producer in hip hop history. But as more time passes and the date of his final studio album's release keeps getting pushed further into the horizon it's starting to look like the album will never see the light of day. We all know he has enough quality music stashed in the vaults to release 10 albums at this point so why isn't there a firm release date? In a recent interview with British newspaper The Guardian he gave this answer as to when we will see 'Detox' "I'm working hard on it. I'm stopping to work on other artists in-between, but the minute it's done and I feel it right here," he says patting his heart, "that's when it will come out" He further added "I have to go out to clubs now, You need to understand what people are listening to." I think that sums it all up right there. When you have accomplished as much as Dr Dre has there isn't a need to go clubbing to see what garbage is being played. You don't follow trends, you set them yourself. When Dre dropped 'The Chronic' and 'Chronic 2001' they were albums that set the standard for every other artist. With the kind of beats you could ride and smoke to. We need that again from Dre. But the question remains, will he ever give it to us? Follow Me @Twitter.com/ChasinMoPaper

HipHopWired Reports Atlanta Hip-Hop duo Playaz Circle has fans buzzing with anticipation over their second installment into the rap hemisphere, Flight 360. The DTP tag team revealed exclusively to HipHopWired that they're keyed up about the timing of this album, saying that the “climate” is right and it's time for them to take off. “Everything is about timing,” said Dolla. “Like one of the DJs told me, if we would've come out about five or six years ago, we probably would've gone gold with a song as big as “Duffle Bag Boy.” I think it just goes to show that the climate of the game is changing but the great part about that is we're able to adapt.” They then continued on to speak about the success of their landmark hit, “Duffle Bag Boy,” which ironically turned out to be both a gift and a curse. According to Dolla Boy it helped them gain fame on the Billboard charts but confused fans that were unsure whether the song was Playaz Circle's or the property of Young Money CEO, Lil Wanye. “I think fans will be able to identify with us more this go around. The first go around there was confusion over “Duffle Bag Boy.” Is it Lil Wayne? Playaz Circle? Who's who? I think the time between Flight 360 and Supply in Demand has allowed the fans to identify the artist, get to know us a little bit better and become familiar with our music.” Despite their previous issues, Tity Boi and Dolla Boy are promising to release a conceptual album. Dolla added that they plan on incorporating photo shoots, video shoots and songs that tie together to form a story line. “We basically do conceptual albums, we try and tie it all in from the photo shoots to the videos, all the way down to the actual arrangements of the songs, to the skits. We think that's what Hip-Hop's been missing, the substance. We've recorded over 70 or 80 songs and we've picked the right 14 or 15 songs that compliment the title of the album and where we were going with our career.” Not only can fans expect a conceptual album, they can expect features ranging from the group's DTP family to the legendary Raekwon The Chef from Wu-Tang. “We fuck with people who fuck with us. Raekwon, the Twins formerly of Jagged Edge, Bobby V, of course Ludacris, of course Lil Wayne…shout out to Young Money.” Flight 360 drops September 29th, and just before takeoff Playaz Circle is leaving fans with one promise: “We ain't gonna stop, we're gonna continue making good music for everybody and all our listeners.” Check out their second single "Gettin' Rich" featuring Ludacris from Flight 360: The Take Off below
