Dec 8th, 2014 - Chicago, IL
Chicago born hip hop artist Polie Da Great (PDG)  has partnered with Stack Or Starve Approved
for the release of his mix tape project  “Famous Stranger” via Live Mixtapes, Orange Mixtapes , Spinrilla, Datpiff & many other outlets.
Dubbed as one of Chicago’s most promising, upcoming &  prolific artists to date,
Polie Da Great has a talent that represents innovative concepts, quality production and party like anthems for those who enjoy having a good time.
His flow and creative process as Polie puts it, hasn't changed at all. "My writing process hasn't changed since I started rapping. Beats talk to me and take me into another universe. I listen to a lot of beats from various producers and pick my favorites. I sit down with my girlfriend Mary Jane and we put our heads together and come up with greatness; because remember Good ain't GREAT.
In addition, Polie breaks down the "Famous Stranger" title and concepts:
"It took a little more time than usual for me to come up with the album title. I been grinding and rapping for years. I been traveling around the country and some of the places that I have visited I always seem to bump into a fan. Some of my fans already feel like I'm famous, but there are a ton of people who don't know me yet. I live in the third biggest city in the country. As far as who knows me, for every one hundred there is about one hundred thousand that does not know me. My fans always tell me how I deserve a shot and to them I'm famous but to the world I'm a stranger. "
The first official leak off the "Famous Stranger" project titled "No Comments" (Prod.HB On The Track) Went viral today to many blogs & music outlets, Polie breaks down the process of how this track came about: "This is another track that already had the chorus on it. When creating this I was thinking about all the "foo foo" stuff that had been transpiring. For example, recently a few card crackers were caught. Then out of nowhere someone leaks them to about 25 other people. The whole time I'm reading and hearing about this all I could think was the main person who was probably talking about how real they were was the one snitching. I just figured I would add my two cents on how people need to plead the fifth and shut the f*** up."

HI MONEY PREPS NEW "Hola Dinero" MIXTAPE RELEASE
 Sept 15th, Chicago, IL
Hailing from East Side of Chicago, Hi Money is a lyricist that makes you feel like you’re back in school studying the Anthology. His love for music and the streets are more than evident as he paints both vivid imagery and captures precise emotions through his lyrics. The art of storytelling is a skill that many artists possess to paint a picture of what’s being conveyed. Shannon Smith (Hi MONEY) has mastered just that. His calm, yet powerful voice and raw lyrics place you where he grew up and through the trials he experienced during his journey of becoming a man. The death of his brother in 2005 pushed him further than he had ever imagined and inspired him to tell his story and perhaps touch
and relate to others by doing so.

Hi%2BMoney%2BPhoto1.jpg
Hi Money is no stranger to hard work and dedication and has projects that he is extremely proud of. His first mix-tape titled Straight From the Block became successful with the help of rapper Bet Stax and Hi Money knew that he couldn’t stop there. He went on to complete two volumes of his next mix-tape, Thinking Out Loud in which he paired up with rapper Gem Stone who is a great musical mentor to Hi Money. Stones, who is signed to rapper Lupe Fiasco, encourages Hi Money to do what he feels and write what he wants instead of what everybody else wants. From the Bottom Line was an album of Hi Money’s that featured many talented Chicago artists and that helped promote and circuit the album as well. The music Hi Money creates has a street sound but also give the smoothest appeal which gives balance and shows diversity with a dash of hip hop street bounce to it. “Some songs may be aggressive but others are very soulful,” added Hi Money. The usage of samples coupled with storytelling gives a
sound that catches the attention of listeners and pulls them in..
While continuing to write and record, Hi Money has also traveled to several states and colleges performing for large venues and hopes to be featured on an underground tour this upcoming Fall. He encourages anybody that wants to pursue a career in music to do so. “Your business mind is everything because talent can only get you in the door,” he said. He wants to be remembered for the great stories that he told through his music and spiritual connection. Nothing can stop him now for he has come way too far.
Coming Soon Hi Money will be releasing a FREE downloadable mixtape titled ‘Hola Dinero' (Hosted By Stack Or Starve) , which will display an arsenal of dope concepts, rhymes & rhythm.
As Hi Money puts it, he wants to ensure the project is solid:
“I want to ensure "Hola Dinero" is perfect, alot of people run with hi money as soon as they hear it. the tape will be extremely lyrical but will give a southern vibe to you due to the production. Equally we are trying to cater to every listener with flow..... base ........wordplay,nasty beats and sick hooks".

Less than a day after premiering his brand-new video for OVER Drake is already on to the next one. The 23-year-old singer-rapper went in front of the lens again for his new single.

Drizzy is in Kingston, Jamaica, this week shooting a video for “Find Your Love,” the second single from his debut album Thank Me Later, Rap-Up.com has exclusively learned. Anthony Mandler is back in the director’s chair for a second time.

The “Over” director will continue crafting the rising star’s image. “Here’s a guy whose lyrical presence does not equal his visual presence yet, by any means,” Mandler told Rap-Up.com. “That’s something that he and I spoke a lot about. He felt strongly that nobody had really captured him, and some of the videos that had been done were less iconic than he would like to be represented as.”

Thank Me Later is scheduled for a June 15 release. Drake will fly back home to Canada to perform at this weekend’s 2010 JUNO Awards and has announced dates for a European Tour, kicking off in July.

T.I. Seventh studio album and prison release

T.I. Out of Prison and Back to Work

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., was released from Forrest City Federal Correctional Complex in Arkansas Dec. 22.2009 and has already headed back into the studio to work. Although T.I. isn’t completely free…he was released to a halfway house close to his home in Atlanta. He will spend the next 366 days of his sentence at Dismas Charities Atlanta West, where he is allowed to leave the facility during daytime hours to work.

Music exec Kevin Liles posted a message on his Twitter page stating that new T.I. music will soon be on the way. “My right hand (T.I.) went home to visit family& found his way to the studio. He said, ‘Why wait for 2010, get it in now.’ Love the attitude.”

That seems pretty lenient that he is also allowed to swing in to see family when he is under ‘house arrest’. He will have 500 hours of community service to complete when he is sprung in another year.

We can’t wait to hear the rappers new song, which will likely reflect his time spent behind bar.

On March 26, 2010, T.I. will be released from the halfway house. He is also currently in the studio working on his seventh studio album. It is yet to be titled.

HipHopWired Reports Miami street poet Trick Daddy will be releasing his autobiography later this year called “Magic City: Trials Of A Native Son” through MTV Books. Speaking to HipHopWired exclusively about the project, Trick revealed, “Nothing I ever say whether in music or DVD or whatever will ever get any one indicted or open any closed caskets or fuck up no appeals but this book is definitely gonna be a best seller and show Miami in a whole ‘nother light. "Cocaine Cowboys" was a good movie but it never showed the people who actually went out and sold the drugs. Niggas who toted and shot the guns. Parents who got addicted to the drugs and the babies born addicted to the drugs. They don't show and tell that part in these other documentaries and my book does all that and it also sets up a movie to follow behind that as well as a part 2 and 3 to follow.” Trick will also be starring in the upcoming film Just Another Day co-starring members from the cast of the HBO series “The Wire” and directed by Peter Spirer. Spirer has directed numerous Hip-Hop film projects including Rhyme & Reason, Tupac Shakur: Thug Angel, Black and Blue: Legends of the Hip-Hop Cop” and Beef I and II. Breaking down the film, T-Double D said, “The flick is a Hip-Hop gangsta flick. It's a flick about a dude that owns a record company and the other dude is a rapper with the company and they deal with a whole bunch of street shit. Just showing the real shit that we actually go through and though we're entertainers, we also have to live. I get to be me in the movie. I ain't got to play no “Broke Back Mountain” scene. I ain't got to be no rat or none of that. I was being me and doing my thug thizzle in the movie. And it was a privilege to work with these young niggas that I admire for what they do.” Just Another Day will also feature “The Wire's” Wood Harris and Jamie Hector as well Lil Scrappy, Big Daddy Kane, Esther Baxter, Petey Pablo and Big Daddy Kane. In regard to the music, Mr. 305 will release his eighth album on September 15th entitled Finally Famous. The album will also break new stride for Trick as this will be his first independent release on his own label Dunk Ryders since severing ties with Slip-n-Slide and Atlantic Records. Trick added, “It's the same Trick Daddy you hear on all my albums. I'm still representing what I always have, the struggle, the streets, the thugs. It's a new game out now called “Telling” where niggas is snitching and getting their time cut and it's very contagious and I'm talking a lot about that up there. I'm doing me now. I am the boss on this project. I totally control everything now but I'm still definitely doing my thug thizzle.” Trick is already tearing up the streets with several songs from the album including “Why They Jock” and the Rick Ross diss, “This Is The Shit That I Live.”

Atlanta Journal Constitution Reports Atlanta police on Thursday released surveillance video of at least one suspect in the shooting death of boxing great Vernon Forrest. The video is from security cameras at the Whitehall Street gas station where Forrest was robbed and a nearby apartment complex. “The images are good enough to get a mug shot of the robber,” Detective Lt. Keith Meadows said of footage showing an armed man in jeans and a black T-shirt. Police are looking for three to four men in connection with the Saturday night killing of the 38-year-old boxer. “We believe that the person that robbed Mr. Forrest and the one who actually murdered him is not the same person,” Meadows said. One man robbed Forrest at gunpoint, taking his diamond and gold “4X World Champion” ring and a Rolex watch, police said. Forrest pulled a gun from his waist and went after the robber, police said. A second man shot Forrest multiple times in the back after he chased the robber, police said. And at least one other man was in a red Pontiac Grand Prix that later retrieved the robber and the shooter, police said. “Security footage actually picks up the [robbery] suspect, but Mr. Forrest actually loses sight of the subject,” Meadows said. Investigators used time stamps from video recorded at the 505 Fulton Street apartment building and the Whitehall Street convenience store to compile a timeline of events, Meadows said. Footage from the gas station shows the Pontiac pull into the station, and the man police say was the robber get out. Video from the apartment complex showed the same man enter a breezeway, carrying a silver handgun, just after police said Forrest had given chase. “At that point Mr. Forrest comes around the corner, and he encounters another individual we believe has a gun in his hand,” Meadows said, citing witness accounts. “Mr. Forrest and this individual exchange words, and he realizes this is not the individual that actually robbed him ... Mr. Forrest turns and walks away.”

In this July 26, 2007 file photo, boxer Vernon Forrest smiles as he answers questions during a news conference in Tacoma, Wash. Forrest was robbed and shot "multiple times in the back" in Atlanta. The armed man shot Forrest seven or eight times, police said. The apartment footage later showed the robber waiting in the breezeway and talking on his cell phone before being picked up by the Pontiac. The car then drove south on McDaniel Street, Meadows said.
