Recently Aidem Media Group hung out with with a new artist in the game, Tayana "The Poet" Smith, and WE have the exclusive interview!!
 [Interview] Tayana "The Poet" Smith
Name:

Tayana The Poet Smith

Age:

28

Favorite color:

Gold/Red

Favorite food:

Caribbean Cuisine

Genre of Music:

Hip Hop

Who are some of your roll models when it comes to getting your foot in the music industry?

Sir Lucian Charles Grainge Lauryn Hill, KRS-One, Maya Angelou, Rakim, and Early Tupac.

How long have you been doing music?

I’ve been doing music for 16 years. It’s been my outlet and oxygen since age 12.

How did you come up with the name of your first single?

The idea for my first single came about in the most authentic form, I am THE POET and poetry is my DNA so the single COMPOSITION BOOK is THE POET sharing her pain to the mass. Completely vulnerability displayed in that record.

Now after a long struggle of getting exposure, how do you feel?

I feel like I have more work to do, like THE POET hasn’t made a difference yet.

Word?!? So it can be said that you have a great performance when your doing a show?

Great performance is a understatement. All show dates will be posted via twitter: @Tayanathepoet via instagram: @voiceofthepoet

When is your next single dropping?

My next single Pyramid will be dropping July 04, 2018

What would be the name of your next single or album and why?

The name of my next album is going to be called Rebellion, because I’m going to completely rebel against the metaphorical side of THE POET.

How did you come up with that name for the single?

History is in the name Pyramid, and I wanted to do something totally different from my other music, just to expose a little bit of my consciousness rap abilities.

How long have you been in the music business?

I’ve been in the music business about 5yrs to date. I was more focused on learning the business aspect of the music.

Where can we find your music at?

You can find my music in all digital music stores such as, Tidal, Spotify, Apple Music, Rhadospy, and etc.

If you could do a collabo with any artist who would it be and why?

Most definitely would love to collaborate with Lauryn Hill, KRS-One, Rakim, Loaded Lux, Kendrick Lamar, J.cole, outside of me loving their music theory, all of these artist have one thing in common; Which is the ability to pore out intellect, spiritual, emotional, political, and physical consciousness in their music, and make it relatable.

What is your opinion when it comes to hip-hop and politics?

I really don’t have an opinion about politics in hip hop, as far as HipHop in general it shapes culture rather it leaves a Mark or Scar is clearly up to the Artist.

Favorite color?
My favorite color is her black.
Favorite food?
I love eating salads.
Favorite artist and why?
My favorite artist is 50 Cent, I'm my eyes he is the quintessential, rags to riches success story. He inspires me to keep striving to reach my own goals.
What age was you when you got bit by the bug the music bug that is?
I believe I was most likely born with it, but my first taste of entertaining was when I was in eight grade chorus. I sang fame and then and there I knew I'd realized my calling.
Who was some of your role while coming up in the music industry?
The most influential artist for me, while coming up, was Prince. But I also idolized Stephanie Mills and George Benson and the like..
What made you decide to get in your genre of music?
Again I would have to accredit my choice of music genre to Mr Curtis Jackson
What's the name of your first single?
My first official single is title Sailing
How did you come up with the name?
The title Sailing us a,metaphor for release the song is about one very young girls desperate desire to be delivered from A most horrendous situation in her home life.
What is your feed back on the direction of hip hop?
I think that hip hop has just as much power and influence on society as its ever had, and that's inspire of these surgence of mumble rap
Who is your favorite artist and why?
Again Curtis Jackson, he's achieved unbelievable heights in his multifaceted career thus far.
If you could do a collabo with any artist who would it be and why?
Besides Curtis Jackson? Maybe Jamie Foxx or even Jack Black.
So how does it  feel to get your music out to the masses?
It is an absolute honor and a privilege to be able to share my work on such a magnanimous platform and I like to personally thank Mr Michael Neely, for this wonderful opportunity to do so.
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
There's really not much to say, other than the fact, that coming into the music industry has been a lifelong dream and I hope that masses listen to, and are positively influenced and even educated and enlightened, by the messages I'm striving to convey through my music.

Recently Aidem Media Group hung out with with a new artist in the game, MVP and WE have the exclusive interview!!

[Interview] Introducing MVP (@malikstudios)

Tell us a little bit about your self?
I'm Half Italian and Black and I'm from Harlem born in Buffalo raised in Harlem NYC so I'm definitely a New Yorker, and like any New Yorker I've been all over the US but I have offspring living in the south and I have lived there on different occasions and I'm currently in NY now.. I've been running a music studio in NYC since about 2013 and the seriousness of the music increased now I'm on my 7th created album looking to get airplay and reach millions.. So I titled it Rags to Riches..

Favorite color?
Red

Favorite food?
Spaghetti

Favorite artist and why?
Nas because he was mad deep and had rhythm..

What age was you when you got bit by the bug the music bug that is?
11 Years old

Who was some of your role model while coming up in the music industry?
Mostly like Nas, Jay, Biggie, and then 50 later on.. But definitely Tupac to top of the list..

What made you decide to get in your genre of music?
Well since I was little I use to be into run dmc, slick rick, and mostly I grew up in it. It was the 80's it was what was happening back then.

What's the name of your first single?
wow well the first actual recorded track I can say I was on was with my two cousins we had a group called Logic and the song was called I Hop a TurnStyle and then it changed to Harlem Style that was like 91-92..

How did you come up with the name?
Well we chose Hop a Turn Style because we never used to have money to pay to get on the train so we used to hop the turn style to get on the train and that was like cool to us.. We changed it to Harlem Style later I think my manager was behind that but who knows.

What is your feed back on the direction of hip hop?
Well I think Hip Hop is like a spider web and each of us fit somewhere on it but we all have our place but the fans remain the same to me they still fans. Artist just gotta make something worth supporting. A lot of people say "it's too this or that" but I just pay attention to the Billboard charts.. I feel like you should be able to make it on there to actually have something to say about where hip hop is as a culture or where it's going. The numbers don't lie you know..

Who is your favorite artist and why?
My favorite artist of all time is Biggie Smalls there no one testing that mans microphone ever..

If you could do a collabo with any artist who would it be and why?
I would collab with Kodak Black, Nipsey Hustle, Migos, Drake, Future and many of our talented hip hop artist who are topping the charts right now.. I listen to many styles..

So how does it  feel to get your music out to the masses?
It feels great because now I can have a chance to collect revenue for my work and that's a huge blessing..
