50 Cent is in Las Vegas at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show promoting SMS Audio. MSN's Joseph Lee caught up with the business mogul to talk about his headphone line, Timbaland coming on board as an investor and how fast the company is growing.

"It feels great when you meet your projections," 50 joked, when asked how it feels to be CEO of SMS Audio. "We've had huge success. The touring in my music career has helped out a lot in the SMS venture because we've been able to launch in 46 countries over the last 2 years. I anticipated success, not as fast as it's actually taking off but sometimes you're surprised in a positive way."

12349616076?profile=original

50 said Timbaland became interested in investing in the company after falling in love with the special DJ edition headphones.

"He's just somebody that I actually respect. I play my music [and] use him as a soundboard to see how he responds to it," explained 50. "I sent him in a gift package the headsets from SMS Audio. And he starts to wear them in the studio, the DJ version of the headsets. He kind of fell in love with it and he had his investment guys sort out the possibilities of investing in the company. He invested and now he has equity ownership. He can help me in the decision making process while utilizing other acoustic engineers to get the highest sound quality possible."

50 goes on to talk about the charitable aspect of his business ventures and confirms his Street King Immortal album will be in stores on February 26th.

"I've worked on this album for 3 years," 50 said. "I've actually over-recorded it. I've recorded almost 70 songs for it. I'm going through a process right now where I have to cut records that I really love in order to meet different price points online that I know will be more effective sales wise. It's gonna be tough for me to get rid of some of the songs because I like them so much. In my head it has to be a certain way. I'm working on that process now. I'm happy with it... I'm excited."

S-1 (Symbolyc One) has been enjoying the success that comes along with producing records for artists such as Beyonce, Jay-Z, Ghostface Killah, Erykah Badu and many others.

His latest hit record is 50 Cent's "My Life."

HipHop-N-More recently caught up with S-1 to talk about how that record came about and get his take on what it was like working with 50.

HHNM: Let me start off by saying that I love 50 Cent’s new single ‘My Life’ featuring Eminem and Adam Levine. How does it feel to work with 3 heavyweights like them on the same song?

S1: Oh man, it’s truly a blessing. It’s one of those things that as a producer you long to do. You desire to work with artists you grew up on. I’ve been a fan of 50, Eminem and Maroon 5. So just to be producing a track with all of them on, it is surreal.

HHNM: I’ve heard that the beat is almost 2 years old and 50 was holding it for a really long time. Can you please explain the background story to it and how the three artists came together on the song.

S1: Yeah so I met Dre McKenzie about 2 and a half years ago. I was sending records to 50 through Dre and Tony, the A&Rs up at G-Unit. Dre hit me one day and was like ‘I have held these 2 records for 50, he’s really diggin’ them’. One weekend I just happened to be in New York and decided to stop by G-Unit office. I talked to Dre, he played the two beats that 50 wanted. And coincidentally 50 happened to be there. He got out of his meeting and came to me and was like ‘yo, you got some crazy stuff’. He pulled me into his office and he played me the ‘My Life’ beat and started doing his verses and the hook right there to show me how he wanted the song to be.

12349769857?profile=original

HHNM: Oh so he already had the idea before you got there.

S1: Yeah, he already had the idea when I connected with him. But he hadn’t recorded the song yet. He spit the lyrics over the beat live for me in the office and was like ‘yo this could be really big’. And that was the last time I talked to 50. Throughout the 2 years or so I was hearing things from different people. Like this cat at Universal told me Eminem hopped on the record. Somebody else then told me Adam Levine jumped on it too. I was only getting little pieces of information until maybe like a few weeks before the song actually released when all the paperwork had to be done. That’s when I found out that they are about to release it as a single.

HHNM: Crazy. So do you have more work with him? Any chance he may have recorded to another beat of yours?

S1: I know he has one other beat of mine that he really likes but I’m not sure if it’s gonna make the album. He does have more of my production with him that he’s digging. I guess as we draw closer to the release of his album Street King Immortal, we will know better.

S1 was also behind the boards for Kanye West's 2010 banger "Power." Check out what he had to say about the record and his relationship with the G.O.O.D. Music CEO.

HHNM: ‘Power’ is definitely one of the most memorable songs you have produced. Are you working or planning to work with Kanye again?

S1: Yes, I’m always working with Kanye. In fact, I’m actually part of his production team Very G.O.O.D. Beats.

HHNM: Yeah I’ve heard something about that. So that’s like an official production team with producers signed to it?

S1: Yup, that’s his production team Very G.O.O.D. Beats and I’m very much a part of that. I’m always working with Kanye. He has maybe like 20 records with me (laughs). Where they’ll end up I have no idea but yeah, I’m always involved with stuff he’s working on, whether it’s his solo project or a G.O.O.D. Music compilation album. I’m always contributing my ideas of work to him.

HHNM: 20? Wow. Well he’s supposedly working on his new solo album so hopefully we’ll hear you on that.

S1: Oh yeah, he’s gearing up to like really go in on that. I’m definitely excited about being a part of that.

To read more about what kind of software and equipment S1 uses to craft his music, his 3 favorite producers, his upcoming projects and more head over to HHNM.

Video After The Jump

Over the weekend popular youtube personality and aspiring rapper Freddy E took his own life. Immediately afterwards the internet was buzzing with rumors that he did so because of a failed relationship with Honey Cocaine.

Honey sat down with MTV recently to clarify their relationship and offered her opinion on why she thinks Freddy may have killed himself.

"I think he was just going through a lot, and that's his personal business. I'm not going to speak about what he was going through, but as his friend, I did communicate with him often, And he was going through some things," Honey said. "Sometimes people can't handle it. If I could have dome something, I would have done something but I had no idea of the situation or the fact that he was tweeting those things. I wasn't aware of any of that. I just feel like he couldn't handle his problems anymore."

12349779893?profile=original

Despite reports to the contrary, Honey says she and Freddy were just good friends.

"What they don't understand is that we were friends, we were just friends," she explained. "Blogs are saying that I was his ex-girlfriend and he did what he did because of a failed relationship. That has nothing to do with anything. I need people to understand that it was just a friendship. I just want people to know that we were just friends, and we did everything for each other as friends."

Video After The Jump

Shawty Lo has a lot of people talking about him these days. Last month a preview of his new reality show All My Babies' Mamas hit the net and sparked a lot of debate.

A lot of people love that the show represents an African American man who takes care of his responsibilities as a father. However there are some detractors that worry the show plays on racial stereotypes.

Despite the criticism, the Oxygen network stands behind the show.

Oxygen’s one-hour special in development is not meant to be a stereotypical representation of everyday life for any one demographic or cross section of society. It is a look at one unique family and their complicated, intertwined life," Oxygen Media told Radar OnlineOxygen Media’s diverse team of creative executives will continue developing the show with this point of view.”

Shawty, real name Carlos Walker, isn't worried about the critics either. The 36-year old D4l/G-Unit artist told MTV he provides well for all of his children and their mothers.

"You can hate all you want to, I didn't ask for it. It just happened. Now that it happened, I'm supposed to turn my back against it?" Shawty told MTV News. "If I wasn't taking care of my kids then you would really dog me out, but I'm taking care of my kids, providing for my family. I don't know what else to say."

Shawty explained that he had a really rough upbringing. His own father was never in his life, his mother was on drugs, so his grandmother had to raise him. His grandmother died from cancer when he was 17-years old forcing him out on his own. He began to deal drugs as a way to survive. He estimates that he was a millionaire by the time he turned 21. The more money he made hustling, the more women he attracted.

"I came to be one of the largest drug dealers to come from Atlanta, Bankhead area and I started havin' kids. When the money came, a lot of women came," he said. "Once you feel like a girl was your girlfriend or whatever, the rubber probably came off. "They wouldn't have an abortion. They used to take the money and run with it, and they'd have a baby by the most popular guy in the street, and that's how I had all them kids."

The "Dey Know" rapper is now determined to be a positive role model. He leads by example, starting with taking care of his family.

"I take care of all my kids. Out of all the 10 baby mamas, I just have problems outta one. That's it," he said. "She has two kids by me, and she feel like I'm supposed to do more for her kids, and she don't wanna work. She just want me to straight take care of them, but it's all love. I handle it. It's a lot of fathers don't take care of one; I gotta deal with 11. I gotta deal with nine girls and two boys."

Katt Williams was taken into custody Tuesday outside of his home in Los Angeles after a Sacramento judge issued a bench warrant for his arrest for missing a court date there. His bail was set at $100,500The arrest stemmed from a bizarre episode in November 2012, when Katt led Sacramento police on a wild chase while riding a three-wheeled motorcycle. Officials say he nearly hit five people during the chase.

Police suspended the chase for safety reasons, but Katt was later charged with charged with evading a police officer while driving recklessly, a felony. He was finally arrested on December 7 in Dunnigan, Calif. He bailed out of jail the following day and was scheduled to be back in a Sacramento court on Monday.

The 41-year-old comedian, whose real name is Micah Sierra Williams, told TMZ he missed his court date in Sacramento because he was in an L.A. court fighting to get back custody of his four children.

His kids were placed into protective custody last month when he was charged with child endangerment following an investigation by the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services. They concluded the home was not a safe environment for the kids after guns and illegal drugs were found.

During an interview with VladTV a couple of weeks ago, Serius Jones called Murder Mook a "weirdo" for some of the suspect things he does.

"Mook is a weirdo. Most people know that. It's OK... he's still a talented battle rapper," Jones said at the time.

Today a picture surfaced of a shirtless Mook smoking an e-cigarette that was being held between someone's toes. It was sent to Jones on Twitter, who immediately starting having some fun at Mook's expense.

12349778058?profile=original

"Soon as they Get Money they Get Funny #ChargeitTotheGame," Jones wrote.

12349778069?profile=original

Mook replied that he was just having fun with his wife in the picture.

12349778295?profile=original

That didn't stop Jones from clowning on Mook a bit more.

12349778864?profile=original

"They Only know what you SHOW," he continued. "Even when I Show em the Ropes.. i give em enough room to Hang theyself With Em, or Climb Up."

What do you think of the Murder Mook pic?
