Video After The Jump

Christopher Dorner is believed to be dead after a gun battle with police in Big Bear, California on Tuesday. The former LAPD officer had been the subject of a massive manhunt after he murdered Monica Quan, the daughter of his police union representative, and her fiance, Keith Lawrence.

Dorner later killed Officer Michael Crain and wounded Crain's partner when he ambushed their patrol car last Thursday. He also wounded an LAPD cop who chased him in the city of Corona.

The disgruntled ex-cop had promised to wage war against the LAPD after he was fired from the department. He claimed he was railroaded out of the department after filing a brutality report against another officer and said a culture of racism and misconduct continues within the department.

L.A. authorities had issued a $1 million reward for Dorner's capture.

The fugitive was finally tracked down in Big Bear yesterday after California Fish and Wildlife wardens spotted him driving a purple Nissan. A chase and gun battle ensued. Dorner crashed his car and fled on foot before hijacking another vehicle.

Richard Heltebrake, left, who said he was carjacked by Christopher Dorner

"Christopher Dorner jumped out in front of my truck. He apparently had crashed whatever vehicle he was driving, and he stopped me at gunpoint," 61-year old Richard Heltebrake told CBS. "He said, 'I don't want to hurt you. Just get out and start walking up the road and take your dog with you,'"

Dorner was eventually cornered after he broke into an abandoned cabin.

After a firefight, the cabin caught on fire. Dorner is believed to have died in the fire, but not before he killed an officer and wounded another. It will be several days before Dorner's body is positively identified.

CBS caught dramatic footage of the firefight and cabin fire.

Audio After The Jump

Lil Wayne has said a lot of controversial things in songs throughout his career, but he appears to have really crossed the line in his latest collaboration with Future titled "Karate Chop" remix.

In the song Wayne raps “I pop alot of pain pills. Bout to put rims on my skateboard wheels/Beat that p*ssy up like Emmett Till.”.

Emmett Till was an African-American boy who was murdered in Mississippi in 1955 at the age of 14. Till, who was from Chicago reportedly flirting with a 21-year old white store owner by the name of Carolyn Bryant. That was justification enough in the minds of Bryant's husband Roy Bryant and his half-brother J. W. Milam to murder Till.

The two took Till from his great-uncle's house to a barn where they brutally beat him, gouged out one of his eyes and shot him in the head before dumping his body in the Tallahatchie River,

Till's body was pulled from the river three days later. His mother, Mamie Till Mobley. made the controversial decision to have an open casket. Photos of her son's disfigured face were widely published.

12349865094?profile=original

Both Bryant and Milam were acquitted of the young boy's murder.

Today the Mamie Till Mobley Memorial Foundation is calling for a boycott of the "Karate Chop" remix.

How DARE you compare the atrocity of Emmett Till to the anatomy of a woman!!!! Rappers Future and Lil Wayne's release of the "Karate Chop"remix scheduled to appear on DJ Smallz's This Is That Southern Smoke Vol. 4 which drops during All Star Weekend, includes the egregious lyrics..."Beat that p-ssy up like Emmett Till".

The rappers metaphoric indiscretion is not only OFFENSIVE to the family of Emmett Till but our ancestors and to THEMSELVES as black men.  How can a comparison be made between the gateway ofLIFEto the BRUTALITY andPUNISHMENT of DEATH? Have they no pride and dignity as black men?  They are diminishing there own existence in a society controlled by a system that criminalizes black men at every opportunity.

The name Emmett Till has resonated over 57 years in effort to educate, in tributes to his life, to demonstrate the existence of modern hate crimes, and to continue the legacy of our rich cultural history. Numerous ballads and songs HONOR his memory and the brutal torcher he endured at the tender age of 14-years-old; during a time when black people weren't even considered humans beings.

It is disappointing, dishonorable, and outright disrespectul to Emmett Till's family and our community at large. The name Emmett Till represents the eruption of a great movement in our hearts as black people and in our country. Out of respect to the family please remove that portion of your lyrics. His mother Mamie Till Mobley is doing cartwheels in her tomb!!!!!!

Until the lyrics are removed we request everyone boycott "Karate Chop" remix! I also emplore the veterans of the rap and hip hop to mentor and sensor the newborns!

#BOYCOTTKARATECHOPREMIX

Lets unite in solidarity!

Dr. Boyce Watkins is also taking Wayne to task for the lyrics.

Video After The Jump

Rap-Up recently caught up with Young Money president/artist Mack Maine to get the inside scoop on some upcoming projects.

Mack said that Mystikal, Busta Rhymes, Bow Wow and Jay Sean are all working on projects. Drake's next album doesn't have a release date yet, but Mack said what he's heard so far is impressive.

Mack is hopeful that another Young Money compilation album can be put together and is looking forward to Lil Wayne releasing I Am Not a Human Being II on March 26.

When he does the I Am Not a Human Being, he actually taps into a different part of his brain where he just talks out of his mind and out of this world. Just expect him being Wayne, but more edgy, saying what he wants, a lot of fun, a lot of high energy," Mack explained.

Mack also talks about the decision to have Kanye West design the cover art for Wayne's album.

12349865499?profile=original

We don’t have a Kanye track on there, so we improvised and we got a cover from him,” he said. “He did 2 Chainz’ cover [Based on a T.R.U. Story], and we liked 2 Chainz’ cover… Kanye’s great, he’s brilliant.

DMX was arrested this morning in Spartanburg, South Carolina after a routine traffic stop revealed he was driving without a license.

Fox Carolina reports that the 42-year old rapper, real name Earl Simmons, was booked into into the Spartanburg County jail around 2 a.m.

Dark Man appeared before a judge at 6 a.m., paid his fine and was released a short time later.

"[Police] watched me at the gas station get in the car. Then he followed me around the corner," X said after being released. "Pulled me over. First of all he could have pulled me over at the gas station as soon as I got in the car. He didn't do that. He followed me around the corner. Pulled me over, knew I didn't have a license, put the cuffs on me. Brought me here, I paid money, when I could have just paid the money right there on the spot. Basically it was just five hours wasted for nothing. I don't have a court date. I don't have a court appearance. And I had my 5-month old daughter in the car."

 — SK Energy Shots, was recognized as #1 in Energy for 2013 by Product of the Year USA. Product of the Year is the world’s largest consumer-voted program that recognizes innovation in consumer packaged goods.

Clean energy is all the rage – and that goes for energy shots too. SK Energy Shots have challenged the status quo with a clean, and socially responsible product that has earned SK Energy Shots the coveted “#1 in Energy” title from Product of the Year USA, 2013.

In a category where customers seemed long resigned to the belief that “energy that works” equates to “energy that hurts,” SK Energy Shots saw an opportunity to offer consumers a “better for you,” tastier source of energy. SK Energy is made with premium ingredients like antioxidants, caffeine from coffee beans, 100% natural flavors, and vitamins A, B6, B8, B12, C and E – and it shuns controversial ingredients that have flooded recent headlines, like taurine, guarana and artificial caffeine. Striking the long-needed balance between potency and purity is a key reason SK Energy was awarded this year’s Energy Product of the Year.

SK Energy has brought new, health-conscious consumers into the energy category and converted existing users who are looking for that better source of energy. Athletes and performers, like five-time Pro Bowl and NFL superstar Wes Welker and wide receiver Miles Austin are among SK’s greatest advocates. Genevieve Boulanger, fitness trainer to the stars, gives SK to her clients so that they can power through two-a-day workouts that get them red carpet ready.

“We all need energy and we all love the way energy makes us feel, but the reality is there were no options for people like us – people who care about what they put into their bodies,” said SK Energy CEO Chris Clarke. “We were driven to create a product that gives consumers the energy boost they are looking for without the compromise and winning 2013 energy product of the year is confirmation of everything we’ve been doing and everything we believe in.”

The SK Energy team members are honored to win this award but their greatest victory is their success in their mission to fight world hunger. Every SK Energy shot sold provides a meal to a hungry child through the United Nations World Food Programme and millions of meals have been already been provided thanks to SK Energy and its consumers.

SK Energy was inspired by such do-good ventures as Tom’s Shoes and FEED, and the company hopes to inspire others to pay it forward.

“Social responsibility is in our DNA and we hope to see a surge in companies and brands giving back to noteworthy causes. The more we promote and motivate organizations to give back, the better the world we all create through business,” said Clarke. “SK’s 2013 Product of the Year Award confirms that consumers value what we value: being the best and being good. We are very proud to provide consumers with clean, world-class energy, and to help children in need while doing it.”
