Video After The Jump

It was a Drake love fest this morning on "The Realness" as Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg spoke about Drizzy's new song "Hold On, We're Going Home."

Peter talked about Drake's ability to make hit records with great melodies and declared that the Young Money superstar will go down as one of the greats.

"Drake dropped a new song that is fire. You cannot hate on Drake, but you have to recognize this is nothing but pure hate," Peter said. "I can't even front on how dope these moist, soaking wet tunes that Drake drops are. Drake's melody game is incredible. He's gonna go down as one of the all time greats when it comes to making melodies."

What do you think of Peter's comments?

Video After The Jump

Mac Miller a.k.a. Larry Fisherman recently sat down with Hard Knock TV to discuss several topics

Mac shares where he is at in his life musically and personally. Mac explains that he went through a dark period during the Macadelic tour where he hated everything because he loved the mixtape but fans didn't embrace it the way he hoped. Mac is in a better place now and has received critical acclaim and fan support for his new album which has no songs on it aimed for radio. Mac goes on to explain his alter ego's Larry Fisherman and Larry Lovestein and how each allow him to tap into other aspects that might not fit into the "Mac Miller" brand. Though Mac states "I don't even know who "Mac Miller" the artist is". As the interview continues Mac talks about working with Ariana Grande and their controversial kiss in her music video which features Mac called The Way. Part 1 of this interview ends with Mac talking about Celebrity Culture and the false idea that people have a simple identity. Although it might be easier to put people in a box Mac states that we all go through the same basic feelings.

Considered radio pioneers by many, the Star & Buc Wild show has set precedents on the urban landscape and was recently inducted into News One's "Top 20 Black Radio Jockeys Of All Time."

Star & Buc Wild made the national stage on MTV (1999) but it was their radio show on New York's Hot 97 (2000 - 2003) that secured their place in Hip-Hop history.

Star & Buc Wild's resume includes The Source magazine, MTV Networks, Hot 97, Power 104.1, Power 105.1, Pulse 87, Hip-Hop Weekly magazine, Vladtv, Thisis50, 100.3 The Beat and shot97.com and VH1 (Reality Television).

Video After The Jump

An Iowa woman is contemplating filing a civil suit against a Davenport police officer for beating her while she was being questioned for shoplifting.

Brandie Redell was caught stealing $300 worth of clothes from Von Maur Department Store on February 18. She and her 1-year old daughter were brought into a security office at the store where they were met by Officer Steve Crow and his partner.

12350305267?profile=original

While Redell was on the phone, Crow attacks her. He punches her several times in the face, leaving her with a swollen eye. She later had to be taken to a hospital for treatment.

In the just released surveillance video of the incident it's clear that the officer was the aggressor, but Crow wrote in his report that Redell "appeared willing to fight" and that "Brandie was biting my finger."

"I bit down because nothing else that I tried had worked," Redell told NBC Chicago.

12350306062?profile=original

Redell admits to stealing the clothes and has since pleaded guilty, however she feels strongly that the beating was a case of police brutality.

"[Shoplifting is] wrong, there's no reason for it. Whatever reason I give doesn't justify it," she said. "I just don't think that even though I did something wrong I deserve to be beat."

Crow and the other officer on the scene were disciplined but remain on the job. Andy Shaw of the Better Government Association wants further action taken against Crow.

"He has some kind of sanction, but he's still on the job. And I think it's really important to demand the same kind of accountability for him that she's facing for shoplifting accusations," Shaw said.

Redell is working with former Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica's law firm and the civil rights group, Living and Driving While Black Foundation, on her possible lawsuit.

David Lowery

"Our position is no matter what Ms. Redell's criminal record states, no human being should be assaulted by Davenport Police, who are to serve and protect," David Lowery of L.D.W.P. told NBC Chicago.

Redell is scheduled to be sentenced August 23 in Scott County (Iowa) Court on a charge of misdemeanor shoplifting. She has two previous shoplifting convictions.

What do you think Officer Crow's punishment should be?

Video After The Jump

Andre 3000 is one of the best emcees in the game today. Although, he's been doing a few features here and there, he's rarely seen out in public and hasn't performed a live show in a long time.

Cee Lo Green of Goodie Mob is one of Three Stacks' best friends. During a visit to MTV's RapFix Live on Wednesday (August 7) Cee Lo revealed the reason why Andre rarely performs anymore.

12350303662?profile=original

"He just said he had a severe case of stage fright and just kind of been away from the game and didn't know if he could truly live up — ah, I just feel like I'm talking to much personal stuff. I hope he don't mind. But he said he was bothered by this bar that had been set and maybe he'd want to do something different. And he'll always be his worst competition, worst critic. And maybe he don't wanna live up to what people think he should do," Cee Lo told MTV.

While a solo project and Outkast album may be on hold, we will get to see Andre soon in the movie All By My Side, In it he portrays guitar legend Jimi Hendrix.

Video After The Jump

"Before Nicki was wearing those crazy wigs/I was doing verses for her just hoping she made it big" - Ransom "Man Alone."

In a new song by New Jersey rapper Ransom titled "Man Alone," he references working with Nicki Minaj before she blew up. Some took the line as meaning he recorded songs with her, while others assumed he meant that he had ghostwritten for her.

12350285498?profile=original

TMZ caught up with Nicki on Tuesday (August 6) and asked her about Ransom possibly writing songs for her. The YMCMB emcee was not at all happy about it and took shots at Duffle Bag Ran.

"I rap better than him. Who the f*ck is he crazy?" Nicki said. "I'm not even a man and n*ggas got my d*ck in their mouths. Are you f*cking serious? I'm undisputed because I'm the only female rapper that day one, I don't need no motherf*cking ghostwriter. So if you're telling that lie you must be really f*cking desperate and you still ain't gonna pop. How a wack n*gga gonna write my sh*t? I haven't even heard about that n*gga in the last five years. I slaughter these n*ggas."

**UPDATE** August 8

Ransom has responded via Twitter to Nicki dissing him.

"I was there when you wasn't hot.. Never asked you for anything when you got hot. Now I get this disrespect," he wrote on the social networking site.

The marriage proposal was an obvious joke referring to DJ Khaled recently asking Nicki to get hitched.

Ran further clarified his lyrics in an interview with TMZ.

"What I meant was, she used to call me to get on her songs. Never once did I not pick the phone for this woman. I did the verses, it was all love, and now this," Ransom says. "I meant that we did verses together. I did verses for her records. I always helped her."

Ran added that you shouldn't expect any diss records from him aimed at Nicki.

"She's a woman. I ain't got no beef with her. That would make me less of a man."
