Race, religion and politics are three subjects that should be taboo when it comes to conversations on social media, because an argument or misunderstanding is usually the end result.
Take Bow Wow a.k.a. Shad Moss, for instance. On Wednesday, July 27, he was asked by a Twitter user who he would be voting for in the 2016 presidential election, Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump. Somehow, his ethnicity was brought into it and his answers have brought the full wrath of of the internet down on him.
“I don’t really care because after I learned what I learned about politics. I just stay away. Let down," he replied.
Another user told him that it was important to cast a ballot because the right to vote is something his ancestors fought and died for.
“Man, I only believe what the eyes see. I’m mixed. I don’t know what my ancestors was doing. I only know what I see," Moss said.
"Did your eyes see (the civil rights movie) Selma?" the user asked.
"I seen Selma. Was I related to anyone, no. I’m saying my moss side of family is not Black. Heritage different," the rapper responded.
Moss later posted a photo of his light-skinned father on Instagram to prove he was mixed.
That did little or nothing to stem the tidal wave of hate that started being aimed at Moss.
"Police: 'Get on the ground sir.' Bow wow: 'Officer we have a misunderstanding, I'm mixed!, one user joked on the social networking site.
Another questioned why he chose to make money from black culture: "Since bow wow isnt black and he's 'mixed' white X Native American...Why was he's entire career revolved around African American culture?"
"Why do y'all insist on asking Lil Bow Wow for his opinion like his views aren't Raven Symoné adjacent,' quipped Huffington Post Black Voices Associate Editor, Taryn Finley.
Journalist Roland Martin scolded Moss: "Hey Bow Wow @smoss. You being mixed don't have a damn thing to do with not understanding civil rights. You not giving a damn is the answer."
Check out a few more responses below.

Workers gather debris carried by the tide and caught by the "eco-barrier" before entering Guanabara Bay July 20.
Video After The JumpWith the opening ceremony for 2016 Summer Olympics set to begin next week in Rio de Janeiro, health experts are warning athletes about the filthy mess that is Guanabara Bay.
The New York Times reports that marathon swimmers, sailors and windsurfers have been told to swim with their mouths closed because the water is full of human waste that is being pumped into the Bay on a daily basis.
Add to that rats making a home in the filth and dead animal carcasses, creating a cesspool of bacteria. The smell is so bad it makes visitors feel like fainting or throwing up, according to USA Today.
When Rio was awarded the Olympics seven years ago, government officials promised to have the mess cleaned, but experts say the problem is actually worse now than it was then.
According to The Times, athletes face health risks from rotaviruses that can cause diarrhea and vomiting to drug-resistant 'superbacteria' that can be fatal to people with weakened immune systems.
"I see the same thing I saw nine years ago. The water is still very dirty," resident Luiz Goldfeld told USA Today. "At night the waters stinks, but nothing's changed. Still the same thing for nine years here. Unfortunately, they had the opportunity to change and they didn't do anything. The raw (sewage) comes from downtown and they don't have any treatment. It's pure shit."
"(Officials) used the Olympic games to put money in their pockets," Goldfeld continued. "They don't think (about) the Olympic legacy. We had the great opportunity to do things for the city, but wasted this opportunity. It smells like shit because it's full of shit. I don’t believe most of what we hear from the politicians, but I expected something would be done with the Olympics coming.”

Dr. Dre was handcuffed and briefly detained by police in Malibu, California following a bizarre confrontation with another man.
TMZ reports that the music legend arrived at his home Monday, July 25, only to find a car blocking his driveway.
When Dre asked the driver to move things got tense.
The motorist moved his vehicle out of the way, before telling Dre that he had just pulled off of Pacific Coast Highway and ended up in front of the rap mogul's home while he was doing something.
He then started yelling and cursing. prompting Dre to pull out his phone to record video of what was happening.
The driver mistook the phone for a firearm and reportedly said, "Here we go again, another black guy with a gun," before calling the police.
When Los Angeles County Sheriffs arrived on the scene they put Dre in handcuffs while he was searched. No gun was found, so they let him go.
However, the driver wasn't satisfied and insisted on making a citizen's arrest. He filled out a report that will be forwarded to the District Attorney, who will decide if there is a case.
**UPDATE** June 28
TMZ reports that the L.A. County District Attorney has rejected the case citing insufficient evidence.
Sources close to Dre believed this would be the outcome all along because the entire situation was "ridiculous."

Michelle Obama’s speech at the Democratic National Convention on Monday, July 25, was fantastic and will be remembered and referenced for a long time to come.
One passage in particular resonated with a lot of viewers.
“I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves. And I watch my daughters, two beautiful, intelligent black young women, playing with their dogs on the White House lawn," the First Lady said.
It was a reminder of both an ugly period in America's history and how far we've come as a nation.
Bill O'Reilly fact-checked Obama's comments and found them to be true. Slaves did in fact, build the White House.
During a segment on the Fox News show, "The O'Reilly Factor," the controversial host gave his take.
O'Reilly pointed out that "free blacks, whites and immigrants" also helped in the construction, before adding that "slaves that worked there were well fed and had decent lodgings provided by the government."
Twitter users and celebrities ripped O'Reilly a new one Wednesday, July 27.
"I don't care if the slaves who built the White House were paid in gold and housed in mansions, Bill O'Reilly -- THEY WERE SLAVES!!!," Cole Haddon wrote.
"The idiocy never ceases to amaze me. Try slavery, Bill. Let us know how good the food is while you wear chains," Shonda Rhimes chimed in.

— Cole Haddon (@colehaddon) July 27, 2016
O'Reilly responded with a tweet of his own.
"Far left loons distort tip about @FLOTUS statement that slaves built White House. She's correct & I provided facts. More on The Factor -BO'R," he wrote.
Far left loons distort tip about @FLOTUS statement that slaves built White House. She's correct & I provided facts. More on The Factor -BO'R
— Bill O'Reilly (@oreillyfactor) July 27, 2016
The New York Times spoke with journalist Jesse Holland, who said that a good portion of what O'Reilly said wasn't accurate.
According to Holland, slaves were fed pork and bread, but how much couldn't be confirmed. He added that most were housed in barns.
“We know as construction workers they were expected to do hard, grueling, back-breaking work,” Mr. Holland said. “So they had to feed them enough so they could actually get their money’s worth. Were they well fed? That’s not something that, right now, history supports.”
In all likelihood O'Reilly won't face any repercussions from his bosses at Fox News. He's been making offensive comments for years and will probably continue to do so with their blessing.
