Video After The Jump

Earlier this week President Trump threatened to send federal government agencies to Chicago in an effort to quell violence in the city that claimed the lives of 716 people in 2016, and 46 so far this year.

"If Chicago doesn't fix the horrible "carnage" going on, 228 shootings in 2017 with 42 killings (up 24% from 2016), I will send in the Feds!" Trump tweeted on Tuesday, January 24.

12352511855?profile=original

When TMZ caught up with Chi-town native, Common, he had a much different take on how to fix the problem.

"For me, I feel like to help Chicago we gotta take care of our own," the rapper and actor said. "Within the community we gotta do things. It's a lot of people out there already organizing and doing things. We need our state and local people to do things. We don't need [Trump's] type of mentality. I'm not focused on the president right now. I'm focused on helping the people in the city and how we can do it."

12352512089?profile=original

When he was asked if he believed Trump's idea would basically be declaring martial law and lead to more problems, Common didn't disagree.

"You think?" he responded. "My message is for the people of Chicago, not to the president. I'm not thinking about the president like that. I'm saying we gon' help each other. I'm from Chicago, so I'm telling the people from Chicago we gon' work with the grass roots groups ... the state and the local. And that's how we gon' do it."

What are your thoughts on the violence in Chicago and possible solutions to reverse the current trend? Do you like Common's ideas?

Sitches has run into some legal trouble in Miami.

TMZ reports the 21-year old rapper, born Phillip Nickolas Katsabanis, was arrested Wednesday night, January 25, after cops discovered a gun and marijuana in his Porsche.

Katsabanis was spotted backing out of a handicap parking space at a Whole Foods Market.  He immediately knew he was in trouble and handed police a half smoked joint, but lied to officers when asked if he had a gun in his possession.

When the vehicle was searched a Glock was found, along with two magazines of ammunition. In addition, police discovered one oxycodone and a jar containing 39.2 grams of weed.

Regarding the gun, Katsabanis told police he was confused and thought they were asking if he had a gun on him, not in the car.

Katsabanis was hauled off to jail and charged with felony gun and weed possession.

Stitches has released three mixtapes and two albums, beginning in 2014, but is primarily know for his 2015 beef with The Game and subsequently getting knocked out by the Compton rapper's manager, Wack 100.

Video After The Jump

The federal government may be called in to quell the growing violence that plagues the city of Chicago.

On Tuesday, January 24, President Trump warned that could soon be his solution.

12352183871?profile=original

"If Chicago doesn't fix the horrible "carnage" going on, 228 shootings in 2017 with 42 killings (up 24% from 2016), I will send in the Feds!" Trump tweeted.

12352507653?profile=original

According to the website HeyJackass, which tracks the number of homicides and those injured by violence in the city, there have been 45 murders so far in 2017. A total of 204 citizens have been shot and wounded.

12352507683?profile=original

Chicago finished 2016 with a total of 716 killed and 3,663 shot and wounded.

12352507890?profile=original

The Reverend Jesse Jackson responded to Trump by tweeting that the problem can't be solved by simply locking people up.

"We need a plan, not a threat. We need jobs, not jails," wrote Jackson.

12352508253?profile=original

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said he would welcome help from the federal government, but was critical of the lack of support his city has been given in the past.

12352508496?profile=original

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel

"Over the years the federal government's stepped back their resources, which we have stepped up," Emanuel told WTTW's Chicago Tonight. "The federal government can be a partner, and to be honest they haven't been for decades."

Music legend Michael Jackson died June 25, 2009, at the age of 50. His official cause of death was from acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication.

The drugs were administered by Jackson's personal physician, Conrad Murray, because the singer supposedly suffered from severe sleep deprivation.

12352504285?profile=original

Conrad Murray

Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison. He was released on October 28, 2013.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, 18-year old Paris Jackson says she's convinced her father was murdered.

12352504476?profile=original

Paris with her dad, 2001.

Paris blames Murray for Michael's propofol addiction, but believes greed and a desire to get her father's half of the Sony/ATV music-publishing catalog, was enough motive for someone to want him dead. Sony eventually purchased it from the late singer's estate in 2016 for $750 million.

12351911874?profile=original

"He would drop hints about people being out to get him," Paris told Rolling Stone. "And at some point he was like, 'They're gonna kill me one day.' Because it's obvious. All arrows point to that. It sounds like a total conspiracy theory and it sounds like bullshit, but all real fans and everybody in the family knows it. It was a setup. It was bullshit."

12352504900?profile=original

Paris wants those responsible for her father's death prosecuted ... in due time.

"Of course," she says, of her desire to see justice done. "I definitely do, but it's a chess game. And I am trying to play the chess game the right way. And that's all I can say about that right now."
