ROCKMART, Ga. (AP) — Police have jailed a woman in Georgia accused of pretending to be an FBI agent to score a free fast-food meal, saying she allegedly threatened to arrest restaurant workers if they didn’t serve her a complimentary bite.

Kimberly Ragsdale, 47, of Dallas, was charged Thursday with impersonating a public officer following repeated attempts to get free meals at a Chick-Fil-A, according to a Rockmart Police arrest report obtained by news outlets.

Employees at the restaurant told investigators that Ragsdale showed up at the location multiple times during the week and posed as a federal agent while driving a white minivan, and also threatened to take employees into custody if they didn’t comply, the police report said.

It added that the woman continued the farce as police arrived to arrest her in the restaurant parking lot Thursday, reportedly claiming to officers that she was an FBI agent and that her credentials were electronic. While being handcuffed, she allegedly began to “talk into her shirt like she was talking into a radio telling someone that we were arresting her and to send someone to Rockmart PD,” officers wrote in the arrest report.

“You will not hear a real officer demand a meal anywhere,” Chief Randy Turner told news outlets. “If it is given, we appreciate it. If it is discounted, we appreciate it. We will not ask for it or make threats and demand it.”

Ragsdale was booked into jail Thursday and released on $3,000 bond by Saturday, online jail records showed.

CHICAGO (AP) — A judge on Friday ordered a Chicago man held without bond in the fatal shooting of his girlfriend, her mother and her sister after the girlfriend refused to cook him breakfast and braid his hair.

Authorities say John Matthews fled to Iowa after the June 22 shooting of Shonta Harris, 24, her mother, Frances Neal, 56, and her sister, Jasmine Neal, 27. He was arrested Thursday in Burlington, Iowa, after being identified as a murder suspect.

Prosecutors told Cook County Circuit Judge Charles Beach II that they have a videotaped statement from the girlfriend that points to Matthews, 25, as the shooter. They also say Matthews’ own grandmother told authorities that he was the killer. Beach ordered Matthews held without bail on three counts of first-degree murder.

Assistant State’s Attorney James Murphy said after Harris told Matthews she wasn’t feeling well and wouldn’t cook breakfast or braid his hair, an enraged Matthews punched her. His grandmother tried to defuse the situation by taking Harris outside. But Matthews followed them and was yelling at Harris as she called her mother for help, Murphy said. When Harris’ mother and sister arrived the arguing continued, with Matthews allegedly pulling a gun and shooting all three.

Frances and Jasmine Neal were pronounced dead at the scene. Harris died Sept. 5.

Murphy said Matthews and Harris dated for two years, and had a son, who was 4 months old at the time of the shootings.

Assistant Public Defender Rocio Armendariz told the judge Matthews has no previous criminal history.

Bert Belasco -- famous from BET's "Let's Stay Together" -- has died ... TMZ has learned.

Bert's father, Bert Sr., tells us his son's body was found Sunday inside a hotel room in Richmond, VA -- where we're told he was about to start on a project for a new movie role. Bert Sr. says Bert was required to quarantine at the hotel before he could come on set.

While the circumstances of his death are unclear, we do know Bert's girlfriend couldn't get a hold of him and eventually asked hotel staff to check on him. We're told when he was discovered, there was blood on the sheets -- the family is awaiting autopsy results.

His father tells us he believes his son suffered a fatal aneurysm.

Bert's career was well on the way up -- even at his young age, he's already racked up 23 acting credits and had starred in a bunch of shows and movies. Obviously, he's perhaps most well-known for playing Charles Whitmore on 'LST' for 52 episodes between 2011 and 2014.

He also appeared on several episodes of "Pitch," "I'm Dying Up Here," and has lots of one-off roles in series such as "American Princess," "Superstore," "The Mick," "The Soul Man," "No Names," "The Big Show Show," 'NCIS,' 'Key and Peele,' 'Justified' and others.

Bert had just turned 38.

RIP

Video After The Jump

Former President George W. Bush, the only living Republican ex-president, extended congratulations to President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on Sunday while appealing to the American people to come together in the wake of a bruising political campaign.

In a statement, Mr. Bush revealed he spoke with Mr. Biden and Harris on the phone and said he offered the president-elect "my prayers for his success and my pledge to help in any way I can." The former president also marked Harris's historic election, as she will be the first woman vice president and the first Black vice president.

"Though we have political differences, I know Joe Biden to be a good man, who has won his opportunity to lead and unify our country," Mr. Bush said.

The two-term 43rd president, who has seldom waded into partisan politics since leaving office in 2009, also extended congratulations to President Trump and his supporters, calling the more than 70 million votes he received "an extraordinary political achievement."

Marking the high number of voters who cast ballots in the general election, Mr. Bush said the voter turnout is a "positive sign of the health of our democracy and a reminder to the world of its strength."

"No matter how you voted, your vote counted," he said. "President Trump has the right to request recounts and pursue legal challenges, and any unresolved issues will be properly adjudicated. The American people can have confidence that this election was fundamentally fair, its integrity will be upheld and its outcome is clear."

Mr. Bush said the nation faces difficult challenges that "will demand the best of President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris — and the best of us all" and urged the American people to unite.

"We must come together for the sake of our families and neighbors, and for our nation and its future," he said. "There is no problem that will not yield to the gathered will of a free people."

Bush urged the country to "join us in wishing our next president and vice president well as they prepare to take up their important duties."

At last!!! It looks like a COVID vaccine is on the horizon that will change the world.

Pfizer just released incredible data -- preliminary though it is -- showing they've developed a vaccine that is MORE THAN 90% EFFECTIVE IN PREVENTING CORONAVIRUS INFECTIONS. That level of protection matches the effectiveness of the measles vaccine, which has effectively wiped out that disease.

Scientists were warning a vaccine might only be 55% effective ... maybe slightly higher, but we hadn't heard percentages like this before in the various trials.

The stock market reacted in spectacular fashion ... futures are up 1500 points, and it makes sense -- the pandemic has wiped out our economy, and this is the light at the end of the tunnel.

Dr. Albert Bourla, Pfizer's CEO, called the results a "great day for science and humanity."

The vaccine requires 2 doses, and the protection kicks in 28 days after the initial dose.

As for the size of the trial ... pretty impressive. There were 43,538 participants, and of those, there were 94 confirmed COVID infections.

Pfizer says by year's end it should have enough doses to immunize 15 million to 20 million people.

The Operation Warp Speed folks have promised Pfizer nearly $2 billion to deliver 100 million doses to Americans free of charge.

The news can't come fast enough -- 1.2 million people worldwide have died from COVID -- 240,000 in the U.S. alone.

Video After The Jump

In this episode of "People's Party With Talib Kweli," Kweli and Jasmin Leigh sit down with legendary rapper, writer, actor, and one of hip-hop's most respected lyricists and distinctive voices.

The emcee with unmatched intensity --

An "unstoppable force" --

D - M - X

In this interview, X truly doesn't hold anything back -- offering us a rare glimpse into the life of one of the most uncompromising and authentic figures in the culture. Things start off with DMX reflecting on his success, almost a decade in the making. They discuss X's trauma growing up with bronchial asthma, often waking up out of breath, and how that contributed to his signature voice. X speaks his early days of slanging mixtapes, and rap battles while locked up. DMX's pain is palpable as he shares the now-viral story of being tricked into smoking crack by his rap mentor, which segues into talking about blind trust, and emotional honesty.

Later, the trio discusses a decades-old rap battle when X and his Harlem Nights crew were pitted against Jay-Z and Original Flavor, ending in guns being drawn. They discuss X's book 'E.A.R.L.: The Autobiography of DMX', as well as X having to audition for Def Jam's Lyor Cohen while his jaw was wired shut.

X shares what happened to the would-be group of Jay-Z, Ja-Rule, and himself that Irv Gotti assembled but never came to fruition after recording six songs collectively. He also talks about why he didn't want to record 'Ruff Ryder's Anthem' at first, claiming it sounded "elementary." They explore X's persona of the conscious emcee packed as a gangster rapper, and X speaks about the iconic clip of his birthday roundtable freestyle session with Big Pun, Canibus, DMX, Mos Def, Mic Geronimo & John Forte. He also touches on his life-long connection with canines, as he tells about stealing his first dog and how he earned its trust. X then goes into the 90 days of solitary confinement he did while incarcerated, some of the craziest things he saw in the pen, X's deep-rooted faith, and how it guides his life decisions. Late in the episode, X talks about witnessing the beautiful, warm spirit of Aaliyah when he worked with her on the movie 'Romeo Must Die'. He then speaks on his upcoming album with contributions from some of the biggest names in the industry, and the interview concludes with X giving us some powerful bars, straight from the heart.

TIME STAMPS:

2:20 -- DMX reflects on how grateful he is for his gradual road to success. Talib speaks on X bringing crabs to cook at their meet up the night before taping the episode. They also discuss why for X breaking bread was so important, and his enjoyment of cooking and sharing with his friends. Talib also brings up X serenading the crew the night before singing to Bobby Caldwell's 'What You Won't Do For Love', as well as 'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer'. He's asked if wishes people and fans saw that fun loving side of him more often.

7:46 -- Jasmin asks X about his growing up with bronchial asthma as a child, that being part of the reason for his signature gruff voice. She relates his music to that of someone struggling to breathe literally and figuratively, referencing lyrics from his first album. X goes on to illustrate the trauma he experienced grappling with the condition, waking up not being able choking for air. All this leads into talk about why he wanted to be a firefighter when he grew up.

10:18 -- DMX is asked about his early days of selling mix tapes on the streets, battle rapping while incarcerated, and how these experiences shaped him as an artist. X touches on how for him hip hop truly was a lifestyle, with beat boxing being his point of induction. X then gets raw, as he allows himself to be completely vulnerable talking about getting tricked into smoking crack at age 14 by his rap mentor, Ready Ron. X states that at that point "the monster was born". Then the conversation widens to discuss the importance of emotional honesty, particularly amongst young, Black men.

20:33 -- DMX is asked about a battle in the Bronx he participated in with his Harlem Nights crew versus Jay-Z and Original Flavor, the bout ending with guns being drawn. Talib goes on to speak about the book 'E.A.R.L.: The Autobiography of DMX', in his view being one of the first truly authentic hip hop biographies written, as it's from an insider's perspective. He asks X to expand on an excerpt from the book that told how he had to rap for Def Jam executive Lyor Cohen, while his jaw was wired shut. He also gives Snoop some due credit for the title of what would become his breakout single.

30:13 -- Talib brings up a period during the mid-nineties when Irv Gotti was looking to assemble a group, with sights set on DMX, Jay-Z and Ja-Rule. X tells why it never came to fruition even after recording at least 6 songs together. Jas raises a quote from X stating that he didn't want to record 'Ruff Ryders Anthem' at first because the sound was "elementary and not gangster". They also discuss the idea of X being the conscious rapper packaged as a gangster rapper, and X is asked if the depth of his lyrics is often overlooked due to his persona.

35:37 -- DMX speaks on the clip of a legendary roundtable freestyle session on X's birthday in '97 with Big Pun, Canibus, DMX, Mos Def, Mic Geronimo & John Forte. X notes the inescapable competitive nature of an emcee, he's asked for his take on expectations of professionalism as an artist, and X speaks to his life-long connection and affection for dogs. He outlines a story of stealing his first dog, and everything he went through to eventually earn his trust. They also explore people's varying views of dog ownership as property vs. family.

51:04 -- DMX speaks on doing 90 days in solitary confinement during his most recent prison bid. He's asked about one of his quotes stating prison used to be fun on some levels before fame hit. He also notes some of the wildest things he saw while locked up and Talib goes on to ask how X his thoughts on prison failing society, black men in particular. He speaks on profits from prison labor being modern day slavery, rehabiliation not even in the equation. Then X is asked about his ordainment as a Christian Deacon, what faith means to him and how it affects his process.

1:01:43 -- DMX goes into how he navigates positive and negative criticism. Talib then asks X about his time working with singer Aaliyah on the movie 'Romeo Must Die'. X tells how it came together with him being written into an already finished script, and he reflects on Aaliyah's warm personality, her beautiful spirit, as well as the moment she asked him if he wanted to do a song with her. X then speaks on his upcoming album with contributions from some of the biggest names in the industry, and the interview concludes with X giving us some powerful and prayerful bars from the heart.

A hotline set up by President Donald Trump’s campaign to gather any dirt on baseless charges of voter fraud has been flooded with prank calls by people making up tall tales or laughing uproariously, ABC News reported Saturday.

Alex Hirsch, creator of the “Gravity Falls” cartoon, called Friday to report a suspicious character sounding very much like McDonald’s Hamburglar stealing votes. Or maybe it was “antifa,” Hirsch suggested. He asked to speak to Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, before the staffer who took the call hung up on him.

The voter fraud hotline was intended to unearth a mountain of cases Trump hoped to take to court to reverse President-elect Joe Biden’s win. Instead, the hotline has become a “nightmare” for many staffers, including several whose contracts are up in a few days with the election over, sources told ABC.

Prank-calling the hotline has become a trend on TikTok.

Hirsch also called in the voice of one of his own characters, Grunkle Stan Pines, boasting that he stole a sack of votes. He demanded that “Rudy” give him a medal.

Hirsch passed on the hotline number for anyone else who wanted to get in on the action.
