Superstar singer Whitney Houston has checked into an out-patient rehabilitation program for drug abuse

Rumors of addiction have dogged the 47-year old Houston in recent years.

Her representative Kristin Foster said Houston sought help voluntarily.

"I can confirm that Whitney Houston is currently in an out-patient rehab program for drug and alcohol treatment," Foster told CNN. "Whitney voluntarily entered the program to support her long-standing recovery process."

Police in Las Vegas are still trying to put the pieces together after a "swarm" robbery that took place March 30.

Police say a group of 15 cars pulled up to a convenience store at 3am. That's when 35 people piled into the store and started taking whatever they wanted without paying.

"Beer to jerky to candy bars to soda, whatever hit their fancy… potato chips," owner Jon Athey told 8NewsNow, describing what took place. "It became a feeding frenzy, they were in the store for three minutes and 30 seconds… It's a pretty scary thing."

In total the thieves only got away with $600 worth of goods, but it could have gotten much worse had the store clerk on duty tried to stop the thieves.

"You can't allow this to happen, because it's going to break out into violence. Some cashier is going to decide that he's got to defend the property, and he'll get hurt," Athey said.

Police are looking at the surveillance video in hopes of catching the perpetrators. It shouldn't be too difficult, since their faces are all caught on camera as well as some of their license plate numbers.

Marijuana use is at an all time high in the United States. As more and more states decriminalize the herb, it's not surprising to see those numbers grow.

Of course there has to one city that gets blazed more than the rest, and Coed magazine has crowned a winner with their list of America's 5 Most Stoned Cities.

The vegan to meat eater ratio of this city is like 6 to 1, so it’s no wonder that Portland ranked third on our list. 10% of the population admits to smoking marijuana at least once a day. Portland is also home to The Cannabis Café: the country’s first smoke-in medical marijuana dispensary

2) Boston, Massachusetts
No wonder the residents of Boston can’t pronounce their the letter “r” correctly; they’re stoned outta their minds! An estimated 9% of the population smokes daily (I wonder if Ben Affleck is among them?). Boston is also home to the annual Freedom Rally, where thousands of fellow tokers gather to have their demand for marijuana legalization heard!

1) New York City
It’s no surprise that the Big Apple is also the nation’s most blazed city. It’s estimated that 10% of the city’s population are regular users and half of them smoke pot from time to time. There has also been more than 400,000 arrests made on minor possession charges from 1997 to 2007

The two have landed a reality series on the E! Channel titled 'Ice Loves Coco.'

The eight-episode show will give viewers a glimpse into the lives of the couple, as they show how they keep successful careers going, while maintaining a ten year marriage.

The U.S, just released new footage of Osama bin Laden.

In one of the silent clips we see a frail looking bin Laden rehearsing propaganda speeches. In another video, the dead Al Qaeda leader is seen flipping channels, watching news coverage of himself. His normally dark beard is completely gray.

These latest videos come at a time when many are doubting bin Laden's death.

There military may release additional footage as the U.S. tries to put to rest any doubt bin Laden was killed May 1.

Yesterday it was announced that Warner Music Group was purchased in an all cash transaction for $3.3 Billion by Russian-born billionaire Len Blavatnik's Access Industries.

Warner is home to Asylum, Warner Brothers, Atlantic and Elektra. With a wide variety of acts like Cher, T.I., Gucce Mane, Green Day, Linkin Park, Red Hot Chili Peppers and many more.

In addition to acquiring WB's entire catalog of music, Access will also take control of their music publishing business, Warner/Chappell Music Publishing.

"I am excited to extend my longstanding involvement with Warner Music. It is a great company with a strong heritage and home to many exceptional artists. I look forward to working closely with the many talented people within the company," Blavatnik said

Rolling Stone is reporting that Blavatnik next has his sights on EMI. He wants to merge the two companies. By doing so he would be acquiring a catalog "including the music of the Beatles, Pink Floyd and Radiohead, and drive down overall costs for the company."

Known for his sense of fashion, Kanye West has has commissioned a line of scarves in collaboration with French design partnership M/M (Paris).

A press release announcing the collaboration read:

During the creative process, M/M (Paris) created a series of hand drawn ornamented frames to adorn the Condo paintings. The design team decided to use the most striking combinations of the paintings and the frames, and transform them into silk scarves.

Sugar Shane Mosely and Manny Pacquiao will go to war tonight at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas for the WBO welterweight belt.

Pacquiao, 32, (53-3-2) weighed in at 145 pounds, while Mosely, 39, (46-6-1) weighed in at 147 pounds.

Pac Man is so confident he is going to win he's scheduled a concert with his band on the as Vegas strip.

Both fighters are predicting a win by knockout.

A new Dr Dre joint premiered last night (May 6) on Showtime's Fight Camp 360: Pacquiao vs Mosely.

This will not be the third single off of 'Detox', but it will appear on the album.

J. Cole's time at Roc Nation could be coming to an abrupt close.

HipHopWired is reporting that Jay-Z has told the rapper to deliver the album or get the boot.

Just last week Cole spoke about the album nearing completion.

"I know my fans are frustrated with me, because I won't give a date," Cole said."I only gave a date one time in my career last year, and I smacked myself in the face because it was so unrealistic. Now I say it's coming soon, and it's really true, because we're in the final stages right now."
