The anticipation for J. Cole's debut cd may has just been amped up a bit more.

Cole's Roc Nation boss, Jay-Z, is calling 'Cole World: The Sideline Story' a classic. Of course you would expect some type of hype from Hov since Cole is is artist, so we'll just have to see for ourselves when the album drops September 27.

Cole recently spoke with Rap-Up to give his take about the co-sign.

When I played him the album, I could gauge his response not on what he said, but what his vibe was,” Cole said. “I linked up with [Roc Nation executive] Rich Kleiman and he said he was with Jay-Z later that night. Out of nowhere, Jay said, ‘So Cole got a classic. That motherf*cker.’

Cole said he still hasn't gotten a verse from Jay for the album, but he'll be ok without it, if it doesn't happen.

The whole world knows that J. Cole is waiting on a Jay-Z verse, but if it don’t happen, it don’t happen. But how ill is it that the album is called The Sideline Story, which is a metaphor for me trying to get off the bench, and I’m waiting for the nod from the coach?

In other J. Cole news, the rapper just released the dates for his world tour. Check them out below.

Video After The Jump

A fan upset he didn't get an autograph from NFL free agent Terrell Owens, tried to bait the football player into a fight by hurling racial insults at him.

This all went down in Miami last month, but the footage is just now surfacing.

According to TMZ, T.O. was posing with some female fans when this dude got his feelings hurt and started going off.

The guy is lucky T.O. didn't bust his grill, but then again that could be what he wanted so he could sue.

Either way T.O. proved to be the smarter man that day.

NBA superstar Kobe Bryant finds himself in the middle of a controversial situation following a confrontation with a man during church services.

An unidentified man has told police that Bryant injured his wrist when trying to take a cell phone away from him. Bryant thought the man was taking pictures of him and his wife. When he found no pictures he returned the phone, then left before church services ended.

According to the LA Times, the other male then went to a hospital with a minor wrist sprain.

This all took place at St. Therese of Carmel Church in Carmel Valley, CA.

Police are now looking into the incident.

"We're attempting to interview all the [participants]," said a San Diego police spokesman.

Back in July 50 Cent was asked about the possibility of Lloyd Banks signing to Def Jam. Fif responded by saying he didn't think it could happen because the company was having financial problems.

"Well, Def Jam, I'm not even sure what that system — that system is not in a good space right now. They're like $80 million in the hole...Don't tell them I told you," Fif said at the time.

Later that month The Wrap published an article detailing problems at both Motown and Def Jam. They indicated big changes were coming for both labels, and that Ethiopia Habtemariam would be tapped to run Motown.

Habtemariam (pictured below) was named Sr. Vice President of Motown last week.

Despite the rumors of financial problems, Island Def Jam CEO Barry Weiss, released a statement last month denying any such issues.

"I don't know what the f*ck they're talking about. Def Jam is not broke, it's on fire!," Weis said in an interview. "We just did a deal with Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music and Big Sean's album is a great success and will continue to garner a lot of attention. Kanye and Jay-Z's Watch The Throne has the whole world buzzing. Jeezy's got an album coming out and his show last night in NYC has the whole industry excited. Rihanna just ended her amazing tour of her amazing album. Frank Ocean is on the verge of super stardom. Rick Ross and so many other great artists are part of our incredible roster. Of course we are looking to maximize our potential and are in search of additional African-American leadership to take us to the next level. But, let me be clear, Def Jam is on fire."

That fire appears to be flickering right now as Def Jam just laid off over 20 staffers, along with industry executives Jonathan McHugh and Chris Hicks according to AllHipHop.

As further proof of a shake up Brandon Creed, has been named A&R consultant for both Island Def Jam and Universal Republic.

In a statement released today Weis, welcomed Creed to the team.

"As we continue to expand our creative investments, Brandon is a perfect fit. Besides being a great artists' manager, he is also a talented A&R and creative executive. We plan to get him very involved across our labels at Island Def Jam Motown and Universal Republic," Weis said.

Video After The Jump

Last month's announcement from Waka Flocka, that he was retiring from rap after just one album surprised many. Since then the 1017 Brick Squad member has released a new album with Gucci Mane, and is still making music, so what gives?

Waka sat down with Sway of MTV recently and clarified his statement, saying he was going to do things his way from now on and not be an "industry" rapper.

"Nah, I am gonna retire. I'm gonna retire from the industry," Waka said. "I'm not gonna kick it in the industry no more. I'm gonna do what I wanna do, how I started like from the beginning. I'm gonna do exactly what I wanna do. I don't expect to win awards, I don't expect to go to big venues. I'm gonna really help the youth — this is what I started doin' it for, so I'm gonna finish doin' it," he said. "Yeah, I'm gonna retire — from the industry."

Waka has shown in the past that he loves helping the youth. The rapper bought a group of skateboarders he met on the street new boards recently and participated in a charity event for kids in Queens last year.

Those kinds of acts set a really good example for young kids. Good to see Waka's commitment to giving back.
