Two people have been arrested in the shooting death of rapper Slim 400, months after he was gunned down while sitting in a driveway ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources say they arrested a man and a woman Thursday in connection to the December murder, we don't yet know their identities or if they knew Slim 400 personally.

You'll remember, the entire thing was captured on a Ring cam in Inglewood ... you see a suspect walk up a driveway before confronting Slim and firing a series of shots. Slim attempts to go after the suspect, but collapses.

Shortly after the attack, he was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Slim was just 33.

A Texas man who raps about robbing ATMs lived out his own lyrics when he was busted for stealing from a cash machine in Tennessee earlier this week.

Ladesion Riley, 30, was 1 of 4 people charged for allegedly holding up an ATM technician at a Bank of America in Nashville as he serviced the machine on Monday.

Riley, whose rap name is “213 Jugg god,” released a song on YouTube called “Make It Home” last month in which he brags about robbing ATMs.

“Jugging” is slang for following unsuspecting victims to rob them.

The lyrics describe robbing ATMs in different states, having thousands of dollars in the car, and praying that they make it home without getting stopped by police.

The other suspects are Darius Dugas, 27, Sashondre Dugas, 32, and Christopher Alton, 27. All 4 alleged thieves hail from Houston.

2 members of the group approached the technician from behind around 10:40 a.m. & “told him to not do anything stupid & hand over the money.” They took the cash and fled in vehicles.

One of the getaway cars, a Hyundai Elantra, had been rented through Hertz. Using aviation units, police tracked the Hyundai to a Motel 6 in Dickson, Tenn.

Police said they then saw Riley, Sashondre Dugas & Darius Dugas drive off in the vehicle after checking out of the motel.

Police moved in & arrested all 4 with help from the FBI.

Cash was recovered during the arrest.

According to jail records shared on social media by the police union, Riley was out on bond at the time of the robbery for a pending evading arrest in a motor vehicle charge.

Riley & the 3 others are being charged federally. The FBI is looking into whether the group committed robberies in other parts of the country.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — The Michigan police officer who killed Patrick Lyoya, a Black man who was on the ground when he was shot in the back of the head, was charged Thursday with second-degree murder.

Prosecutor Chris Becker announced charges Thursday against Grand Rapids Officer Christopher Schurr, weeks after Lyoya was killed following a chaotic traffic stop on April 4.

The 26-year-old Lyoya was on the ground when he was killed. The shooting was recorded on video by a bystander.

“The death was not justified or excused ... by self defense,” Becker said, referring to an element of second-degree murder.

Schurr, who is white, told Lyoya that he stopped his car because the license plate didn’t match the vehicle. Roughly a minute into the stop, Lyoya began to run after he was asked to produce a driver’s license.

Schurr caught him quickly, and the two struggled across a front lawn. The officer demanded that Lyoya “let go” of Schurr’s Taser before he fired the fatal shot.

Becker said he consulted experts from outside Michigan about the use of force in the case.

The Grand Rapids police chief released video from four different sources on April 13. Attorneys for Lyoya’s family have called the death an “execution.”

PHOENIX (AP) — A Phoenix suburb is reviewing how it handles water rescues as video of 3 police officers standing nearby as a homeless man drowns sparks outcry.

The Tempe Police Department says the officers are on paid administrative leave after last month’s drowning in a city lake.

An uproar arose after Tempe police on Friday released edited footage from officers’ body cameras as well as a transcript of the May 28 incident.

The video shows Sean Bickings, 34, climb over a 4-foot fence along Tempe Town Lake. An officer tells him swimming is not permitted. Bickings then goes into the water & starts swimming. Another officer tells police to watch him while he goes to get a boat.

The video ends there. But the transcript shows two officers repeatedly tell Bickings to swim to a pylon & “hold on.” Bickings continuously says “I can’t” & pleads for help.

At one point, one of the officers says: “I’m not jumping in after you.”

The Tempe Officers Association said the public needs to understand officers are not trained for water rescues. These officers followed their training & went to get a boat.

City said officials will reevaluate the protocols around water rescues. They will also look at where rescue equipment like life preservers should be placed relative to the lake or any body of water.

Firefighters recovered Bickings’ body & pronounced him dead.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety & police in the neighboring suburb of Scottsdale are investigating the police response.

NEW YORK (AP) — R. Kelly, the R&B superstar known for his anthem “I Believe I Can Fly,” deserves at least 25 years behind bars for sexually abusing women and girls, prosecutors said in a memo filed Wednesday in advance of his sentencing later this month.

A New York City jury found Kelly guilty of racketeering and multiple other counts last year at a sex-trafficking trial that was seen as a signature moment in the #MeToo movement. Prosecutors alleged that the entourage of managers and aides who helped Kelly meet girls — and keep them obedient — amounted to a criminal enterprise.

Several accusers testified in lurid detail during the trial, alleging that Kelly subjected his victims to perverse and sadistic whims when they were underage.

Kelly used his “fame, money and popularity” to systematically “prey upon children and young women for his own sexual gratification,” prosecutors wrote in the filing.

“He continued his crimes and avoided punishment for them for almost 30 years and must now be held to account,” prosecutors wrote.

Kelly’s lawyers have argued that he deserves only a maximum of about 17 years in prison under federal sentencing guidelines.

Among multiple sordid allegations, jurors heard testimony about a fraudulent marriage scheme hatched to protect Kelly after he feared he had impregnated R&B phenom Aaliyah in 1994 when she was just 15. Witnesses said they were married in matching jogging suits using a license falsely listing her age as 18; he was 27 at the time.

Aaliyah worked with Kelly, who wrote and produced her 1994 debut album, “Age Ain’t Nothing But A Number.” She died in a plane crash in 2001 at age 22.

The competing defense memo suggested prosecutors’ arguments for a higher sentence overreached by falsely claiming Kelly participated in the bribery of “a public aid officer to produce an identification card” that allowed the sham marriage to go forward.

Kelly’s lawyers also said it was wrong to assert he should get more time because he sexually abused one of his victims — referred to in court as “Jane” — after her parents innocently entrusted him to help her with her musical career.

“The record shows that Jane’s parents directed Jane to lie to the defendant about her age and then encouraged her to seduce him,” the papers say.

Kelly, 55, is set to be sentenced on June 29.

MIAMI (CBS News) – A South Florida mother is facing first-degree murder charges in the death of her 7-month-old baby.

Alyssa Jimmie faced a judge Thursday morning.

According to the arrest report, the 22-year-old told police that she left the baby with his 3-year-old brother in the bathtub with the water running in their southwest Miami-Dade home.

She said she went to get her nails done nearby at an "in-home" salon, and because there was no "drain plug," she felt it was safe to leave them alone.

When she came back, police said, the baby was unconscious and the drain had been stopped with a small face towel.

The baby was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead.

A judge set her bond at $10,000.

A 39-year-old worker died after falling into a molten iron vat of 2,600 degrees Fahrenheit molten – leaving half of his body lying on the floor.

Steven Dierkes, of Peoria, Illinois, died instantly after he was presumably working alongside a crucible when he fell in, according to Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood.

Harwood said the Thursday incident – which took place at the Caterpillar Mapleton Foundry – was accidental & no foul play is suspected.

Deputies were called to the facility around 10 a.m. on Thursday morning in regards to an “occupational accident.”

Dierkes’ death remains under investigation by the Peoria County Coroner’s office, the Sheriff’s Office, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

A veteran Caterpillar worker, who wishes to remain anonymous, told the World Socialist Web Site (WSWS), that Dierkes “was taking a sample of iron for the met lab & apparently just tripped.”

The unidentified worker explained: “He died instantly, but not all of him went in. Part of his body remained on the deck for the coroner to retrieve.

“It must have been ghastly for those folks that witnessed it and to wait for the coroner with half of their coworker lying on the floor.”
