Video After The Jump

STAR talks the UW battle rap event "High Stakes" Loaded Lux vs. Hollow Da Don (callers debate), top Grammy award performances, Carmelo Anthony scoring 62 points in a NBA game, Usain Bolt dressed in drag in a TV commercial, Madonna struggling to sing at the Grammy's, Busta Rhymes growing his dreads back and Stevie Wonder needing a makeover

Radio legend Troi Torain (STAR) always delivers hard-hitting objective truth. As a culture critic he is vicious, as a businessman he is relentless, as a luminary he is un-matched.

12349990084?profile=original

Considered a radio pioneer by many, STAR has set precedents on the urban landscape and was recently inducted into News One's "Top 20 Black Radio Jockeys Of All Time."

STAR & BUC WILD made the national stage on MTV (1999) but it was their radio show on New York's Hot 97 and Power 105 (2000 - 2006) that secured their place in Hip-Hop history.

Torain's resume includes The Source magazine, MTV Networks, Hot 97, Power 104.1, Power 105.1, Pulse 87, Hip-Hop Weekly magazine, Vladtv, Thisis50, 100.3 The Beat, shot97.com and VH1 (The Gossip Game).

This clip is from STAR's LIVE show (12noon -- 2pm) on http://shot97.com.

Video After The Jump

Macklemore had one day to enjoy his Grammy trophies before someone dug up an old tweet from 2009 where the rapper expressed his opinion that 9/11 was an inside. Specifically, he blamed former President George Bush for the tragedy that killed nearly 3000 people and shook America to it's core.

A 2005 track entitled "Bush Song" by the Seattle rapper has also emerged. It it Macklemore expressed similar beliefs.

"Where's Dick Cheney at? Probably off in Iraq finding some oil to tap, tell 'em I got up on that and y'all still think it was Bin Laden. When it was us and the Masons, plotting on oil profits," Macklemore raps.

12350584488?profile=original

The song is off of Macklemore's 2005 debut album The Language of My World. People are now questioning if the rapper is a 9/11 truther.

Twitter is fired up about the topic. Here's a sample of what people are saying.

Video After The Jump

Some lucky football fan is going to have one of the best DJ's in the world spinning records at their party this Super Bowl weekend for a bargain basement price, because Whoo Kid told TMZ all he needs is a red velvet cake and he's there.

"All I want is red velvet cake. If they got red velvet cake, since I'm an n-word. Red velvet cake and I'm DJing for free," Whoo Kid said.

12350585264?profile=original

This sparked a hilarious debate in the TMZ newsroom between Van and Harvey Levin over which race loves the delicious cake more... African Americans or whites?

12350585668?profile=original

I think it's a tie, so everyone should just eat up.

12350585857?profile=original

**UPDATE** January 30th

When Minnesota Vikings superstar running back Adrian Peterson saw the video about DJ Whoo Kid's love for red velvet cake he decided he had to hook him up.

12350585298?profile=original

The TMZ cameras were rolling when A.P. hand delivered a cake with the words "n-word we made it" written on it to the DJ at W.i.P. nightclub in New York City last night

That was very cool of Peterson. Check out the video below.

Video After The Jump

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is one of the best boxers in the history of the sport. At 36-years old, with a record of 45-0, it's very likely that Floyd will retire undefeated whenever he decides to hang up the gloves for good.

12350595457?profile=original

Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White was a guest on the Arsenio Hall Show Monday (January 27). When asked how Floyd would do in the UFC, White was blunt and to the point as usual.

"He'd get murdered in the UFC," White said. "Here's the thing, these guys always talk about this crossover stuff. Floyd's gonna go crazy 'cause I said that too now. But bottom line the disrespect that these guys show for each other's sport... My guy's thinking they could go over and box and Floyd thinking he could come over here in the UFC. It's like you go to a knife fight with a guy and the other guy's got guns and chains and crowbars. There's so many more weapons in the UFC than there are in boxing. It just makes no sense."

What do you think of White's comments? Do you believe there will ever be a boxer that will successfully crossover to the UFC or vice versa?

Macklemore was a big winner, Taylor Swift's hair almost stole the show, but nobody managed to draw as much attention as Pharrell Williams' hat at the 56th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday (January 26).

The super producer won four awards on the night, however it was his big brown hat that got it's own Twitter account and was the inspiration for thousands of memes.

Pharrell Williams 'Just Liked' GRAMMY Hat, Designed by Vivienne Westwood

“It’s Vivienne Westwood,” Pharrell said. “It’s a Buffalo hat. This gentleman by the name of Malcolm McLaren [designed it]. [He has a] huge history. And I just liked it.

JustWhooKid.com found the entire thing to be hilarious and so did we. Let's take a look at some classic pics thanks to the internet.

Audio After The Jump

Power 105.1 radio personality Charlamagne Tha God handed the "Donkey of the Day" to the Grammys for giving Macklemore's The Heist the award for Rap Album of the Year over Kendrick Lamar's Good Kid, M.A.A.D City.

Charlamagne said that the Grammys have a history of ignoring great hip hop albums. He noted that artists like Nas, Snoop Dogg and Public Enemy have never won one.

Macklemore even recognized that Kendrick had been snubbed. Check out what Charlamagne had to say below.
