Turk has seen the highest of the highs as a member of the Hot Boys when they were at their peak and dealt with low points when he was incarcerated for nine years.
Since he walked out of the gates of Arkansas' Forrest City Prison in October 2012, he hasn't looked back. Turk got back on his feet by starting his own record label, YNT Empire, signing several artists including his wife Emani Da Made Woman and releasing quality music.
Mikey T The Movie Star recently caught up with the New Orleans native to talk about why he didn't sign with Cash Money when he got home, Rap-A-Lot Records CEO, J. Prince helping him when he was locked up and offering him a partnership deal he couldn't pass up, wanting to see B.G. come home soon, overcoming a drug addiction earlier in life, putting artist development first at his label and more.

Mayura Dissanyake is a semi-pro mixed martial artist who also happens to work as a clerk at a Fuel Depot on Houston's southside. When he saw a co-worker being attacked he quickly put his skills on display.
Dissanyake's co-worker had just returned from making a bank run. When he exited his car two men hopped out of an SUV and attempted to rob him of the bank bag he was carrying. Dissanyake realized what was happening and ran outside to help.
"The first guy I saw, I just kicked him in the face," he said. "Then I punched the other guy."
The five-time national MMA champion in his native Sri Lanka was still throwing punches and kicks alongside his co-workers when the would-be robbers decided to flee. During the commotion one of them gets left behind after Dissanyake knocks him flat on his face with a left hook. He continued to kick the man and held him until police arrived.
"I just kicked him until he lays down on the floor," Dissanyake told KPRC-TV. "Until he stopped moving cause I wasn't sure if he had a knife or a gun so I wanted him to stop moving."
The thief was charged with robbery with bodily injury. He was identified as 33-year-old Odell Mathis. The incident happened earlier this month, but police just released the surveillance footage.

Wiz Khalifa's Under The Influence of Music kicked off Thursday in Scranton. One artist noticeably absent was Tyga, who cancelled the gig just weeks before it was set to kick off.
The move didn't sit well with Wiz who appeared on Philadelphia radio station Power 99 to chop it up with host Mina SayWhat about how disappointed he was by Tyga's actions.
"He didn't tell me at all. His people was like, 'Nah we ain't gonna be on the tour," Wiz said. "He said he was filming a movie and finishing up his album, but that's a wack excuse."
Wiz added that he hasn't spoken with Tyga since, although he's not opposed to it.
"I'll talk to him. I’m sure he’ll probably hear interviews of me saying that I thought that it was wack and stuff like that. And he didn’t reach out,” Wiz continued. “I’m the type of person, I talk to people when I want to. He know what it is with me. We cool, that’s the homie, and that was just a wack move. I felt like that was just corny, man. We’re better than that ’cause at the end of the day, you don’t say album and a movie just to sound like you got something to do ’cause I did my album before my tour and I’m shooting a movie as soon as I get home off the tour, and I got a son too. At the end of the day, what do you want to do with your life?”
Even without Tyga the show's lineup is still strong. Young Jeezy, DJ Drama, Rich Homie Quan, Ty Dolla $ign, Sage The Gemini and Mack Wilds are all on the bill.

The third installment of the popular The Expendables movie franchise won't hit theaters until August 15th, but a near perfect copy has already leaked online.
According to TorrentFreak, the movie has been downloaded at least 200,000 times since it hit the internet on Thursday, July 24.
Screen shot from leaked copy of The Expendables 3
It's not a secret that all movies eventually leak. Grainy cam versions, recorded by somone in the audience, usually hit the net a week or so after a new movie is released. Better copies appear in the weeks or months that follow, but a near DVD quality copy like the Expendables 3 is a rarity. Especially when you take into account that there are still several weeks before audiences will see it on the big screen.
In 2009 X-Men Origins: Wolverine leaked two months before its release date. However, it was unfinished and lacked special effects
Lionsgate executives are most likely in a state of panic thinking of the millions of dollars they will lose. The first two Expendables movies made a combined $575 million at the box office worldwide.
The latest version is packed with star power. It stars Antonio Banderas, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes, Kelsey Grammer, Jason Statham, Glen Powell, Ronda Rousey, Victor Ortiz and Terry Crews.
I'm betting the film will still do well at the box office. Pirating will always be an issue, but true movie fanatics love the big screen experience and don't bother with downloading illegal copies.
