The hip-hop community is in mourning after groundbreaking rapper Hurricane G passed away at age 52, it was confirmed Sunday.

“My heart is hardened today. One of my good friends… my oldest daughters mother passed away today,” wrote EPMD’s Erick Sermon on Instagram, describing her as “a legend in her own right in the Hiphop community.”

Hurricane G, born Gloria Rodríguez, rose to fame in the mid-1990s after appearing on Redman’s 1992 hit “Tonight’s da Night.” She followed with another Redman song, “Dare Iz a Darkside,” in 1994 while collaborating with Xzibit on the track “At the Speed of Life” before releasing her debut album, All Woman, in 1997. The artist, who was of Puerto Rican descent, rapped in both English and Spanish.

“She paved the way,” Sermon wrote. “She was in all the Hiphop magazines with all the top females at the time. She will be missed all around the world. I can’t believe this. Pray for us. Beautiful blessings. She was a beautiful person a wonderful mother as real as they come.”

No cause of death has been revealed but in May, Hurricane G’s daughter, Lexus, revealed her mother had lung cancer.

Kanye West is going to need to shell out 10 figures if he wants any chance at owning the rights to 'White Lives Matter' ... so says one of the owners of the phrase.

Ramses Ja, who got the rights to 'WLM' last month along with his radio show co-host Quinton Ward, tells TMZ ... they're not looking to sell the trademark, but any potential buyer would have to come up with a $1 billion offer to even make them consider selling.

For Ramses, the most important thing is helping organizations fighting for Black people's rights ... so a $1 billion dollar offer would make them reconsider their desire not to sell, because they could do so much good with that kind of money.

Kanye's been stirring the pot with his 'White Lives Matter' shirts for a month, but he hasn't been able to sell them in America because he doesn't own the rights.

The trademark was acquired by an anonymous listener of Ramses & Quinton's racial justice radio show, "Civic Cipher" ... filing it the same day Ye wore the controversial look at Paris Fashion Week.

The listener transferred ownership over to Ramses & Quinton a few weeks back & it covers the right to sell clothing with those words displayed.

Ramses says their lawyer would take legal action against Kanye, or anyone else if the shirts are sold & the $1 billion price tag would appear to be an even bigger deterrent.

Kanye's no longer a billionaire after losing tons of business partners over his antisemitic rhetoric & Ramses says Ye has not reached out to him about the trademark rights.

In order for Ramses & Quinton to retain their trademark, they need to use it in commerce, they can't just sit on it & based on what Ramses is telling us here, it seems like they're coming up with a unique way to hang on to the rights.

CHICAGO (AP) — Former NBA guard Ben Gordon has been arrested after a Chicago McDonald’s security guard was punched in the face, police said.

Gordon, 39, was charged with misdemeanor battery causing bodily harm and battery making physical contact, the Chicago Tribune reported Saturday.

Gordon, who played for four teams during his NBA career, was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Friday when police responded to a report of a disturbance by a man who was being escorted from the McDonald’s.

A 29-year-old man was hit in the face & thrown to the ground. A 21-year-old man was pushed & also thrown to the ground. Both men refused medical help.

Police said Gordon was arrested at the scene.

Gordon was charged last month with assault, resisting arrest, contempt & child endangerment in New York for allegedly punching his young son at LaGuardia Airport.

According to the Queens district attorney’s office, witnesses, including an American Airlines employee, saw Gordon yell at his son & punch him several times in the face after the boy dropped a book on the ground.

Gordon later confirmed to police that it was his son. Gordon also allegedly assaulted officers as they attempted to handcuff him & put him in a patrol car.

Joshua Kirshner, an attorney representing Gordon, said the son is 10 or 11 years old.

Gordon, who played collegiately at the University of Connecticut, was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 2004 & played 11 seasons in the NBA with Chicago, Detroit, Charlotte & Orlando, most recently in the 2014-15 season with the Magic.

Aaron Carter has died ... TMZ has learned.

The singer-turned-rapper and actor was found dead Saturday at his house in Lancaster, CA ... multiple sources tell us Aaron's body was found in his bathtub. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they received a 911 call at 11 AM Saturday that a male had drowned in the tub.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... homicide detectives have been dispatched to the scene, but we have no information or evidence of foul play. It's standard operating procedure for homicide detectives to investigate such death scenes.

TMZ obtained a photo of sheriffs' cars and paramedics outside Aaron's home ... and the property is surrounded with caution tape.

Aaron shot to fame back in the late 1990s as a pop singer, releasing four studio albums, starting with his self-titled debut album in 1997 when he was only 9 years old.

After his first album sold a million copies, Aaron's second album, "Aaron's Party," tripled that number ... and from there he became a regular on Nickelodeon.

Aaron also used to tour with the Backstreet Boys during their heyday ... his older brother Nick was part of the hugely popular boy band.

AC transitioned into rap as his music career progressed ... and he also appeared on "Dancing With The Stars" and acted in the Broadway production "Seussical."

Aaron had tons of legal and substance abuse issues over the years ... infamously going on "The Doctors" a couple years ago and talking about all the pills he was taking. He also went to rehab numerous times.

AC is survived by his son, Prince.

He was only 34.

An OnlyFans model who stabbed her boyfriend to death was recorded degrading him weeks before the attack.

In video found on her slain boyfriend Christian Obumseli’s iPhone, 26-year-old Courtney Clenney can be heard having an argument with her partner of two years. Miami prosecutors have charged Ms Clenney, known as Courtney Tailor on social media platforms, in the murder of Mr Obumseli.

The resurfaced video is among mounting evidence of the couple’s volatile relationship and Ms Clenney’s outbursts. Her claims that she acted in self-defense have also been previously contradicted by video from an elevator in her luxury apartment complex that showed her physically attacking Obumseli, months before she stabbed him.

One of the incidents recorded by Obumseli appears to have unfolded after he didn’t tell Ms Clenney that he had greeted a female while on a bicycle ride. Ms Clenney then accused him of “gaslighting” her when he apologized, told him, “Shut up & let me slap you, dumb a**,” & called him the n-word.

Clenney fled to Big Island, Hawaii following the fatal stabbing, where she was arrested. She was later extradited by US Marshals to Florida, where she pled not guilty to murder charges.

An Arkansas woman who was 31 weeks pregnant was found dead in southern Missouri. Her baby also died.

Ashley Bush, 33, was 31 weeks pregnant. The baby's name was Valkyrie Grace Willis.

The bodies of Bush & her daughter were found in separate locations. The baby was found Wednesday & Bush was found Thursday.

Bush had 3 children, ages 8, 7, & 2, & was engaged to be married.

Josh Willis, Bush's fiancé, said he's devastated by the news & trying to stay strong for their daughter.

A married couple, Amber Waterman & Jamie Waterman, both of Jane, Missouri, were arrested on kidnapping charges. They were charged in federal court for their roles in the kidnapping & murder on Friday.

Amber Waterman is being charged with 1 count of kidnapping resulting in death; Jamie Waterman is being charged with 1 count of being an accessory after the fact to kidnapping resulting in death.

Bush appears to have been killed by a gunshot wound, said Nathan Smith, Benton County prosecutor.

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. (AP) — A jury convicted a former New York City police officer on Friday of second-degree murder in the death of his 8-year-old son, who was forced to sleep overnight on the concrete floor of a freezing garage.

Michael Valva was found guilty of 4 counts of child endangerment & faces a maximum potential sentence of 25 years to life. Thomas Valva died in January 2020, the day after sleeping in the garage in the family’s Long Island home in temperatures that dropped under 20 degrees.

Friday’s verdict came on the first day of deliberations after a month’s worth of testimony.

A medical examiner ruled the boy’s death a homicide & found that hypothermia was a major contributing factor. Prosecutors said Thomas & his 10-year-old brother were both on the autism spectrum & were at times forced to sleep in the garage.

The boys spent 16 consecutive hours in the freezing garage leading up to the 8-year-old’s death. Prosecutors also alleged Michael Valva did nothing to help him as the boy died in front of him & then lied to police & first responders.

The child endangerment counts stemmed from the beating & starving of both boys. Their teachers testified the boys came to school with bruises & often were so hungry they ate crumbs off the floor.

“While there is nothing that we can do to bring Thomas back, we are satisfied with the jury’s decision,” Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney said. “Michael Valva subjected his sons to horrific abuse, neglect & cruelty. He will now pay for cutting short the life of a young, innocent, defenseless boy who had a lifetime ahead of him.”

Valva’s then-fiancee, Angela Pollina, also faces child endangerment & second-degree murder counts & is awaiting trial. She has pleaded not guilty.

Nike has parted ways with Kyrie Irving.

The shoe giant announced Friday night that it will halt its relationship with the Brooklyn guard, who has been suspended by the Nets for what the team called a repeated failure to “unequivocally say he has no antisemitic beliefs.”

“At Nike, we believe there is no place for hate speech & we condemn any form of antisemitism,” the company said. “To that end, we’ve made the decision to suspend our relationship with Kyrie Irving effective immediately & will no longer launch the Kyrie 8.”

Irving signed with Nike in 2011, shortly after becoming the No. 1 pick in that year’s NBA draft. Irving’s first signature shoe was released 3 years later & the popularity of the Kyrie line led to him making a reported $11 million annually just from the Nike endorsement.

Nike’s decision came a day after the Nets handed down their suspension, which will last at least 5 games & after NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said he wanted an apology from Irving over his decision to post a link to the documentary “Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America” — a film that contains antisemitic material.

Irving defended his right to post what he wants, then refused to give a direct answer when asked Thursday if he has antisemitic beliefs. Later, hours after the Nets issued their suspension, Irving posted an apology on Instagram.

“To All Jewish families & Communities that are hurt and affected from my post, I am deeply sorry to have caused you pain & I apologize,” Irving wrote. “I initially reacted out of emotion to being unjustly labeled Anti-Semitic, instead of focusing on the healing process of my Jewish Brothers & Sisters that were hurt from the hateful remarks made in the Documentary.”

An off-duty Miami-Dade Police officer was critically injured after he was shot in a domestic-related incident in a Hialeah neighborhood Friday morning, officials said.

Hialeah Police spokesman Sgt. Jose Torres said the officer was shot in the 1200 block of W. 79th Street.

The officer was transported in "extremely" critical condition to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, Torres said.

"Please keep the family of this officer as well as the Miami-Dade Police Department and the police community, keep them in your prayers," Torres said. "Very sad morning, very sad morning."

Officials didn't release the officer's identity but NBC 6 has learned he's Damian Colon, a veteran member of the department.

Torres said the shooter, a former Miami-Dade Schools Police officer, was taken into custody.

A source told NBC 6 the shooter was the officer's estranged girlfriend, identified as Yessenia Sanchez. Sanchez had resigned from her job as an officer last year rather than be fired following her arrest on domestic violence charges.

Cops are trying to piece together the argument that escalated to the point of gunfire in the fatal shooting of Takeoff, and the triviality of the whole thing is just mind-boggling.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... angry words were exchanged between Quavo and others after he lost in a dice game at the bowling alley. We're told they took the argument outside, and somehow they begin jawboning over who could beat who at basketball.

That lines up with video obtained by TMZ, in which you hear Quavo become increasingly frustrated ... talking about basketball and assuring the group he'd win.

From there is when things hit a breaking point ... Quavo begins to walk away and then, our sources say, a punch was thrown. Suddenly, at least 10 shots ring out. It appears multiple weapons were fired, striking 3 people -- Takeoff fatally.

No arrests have been made, and cops haven't publicly named a suspect. However, in another video obtained by TMZ, you see one man in the group holding and then raising his gun. Cops tell us he's currently a person of interest.

Takeoff's Migos groupmates have not yet made public statements about his death.
