"Eminem is Elvis. He's our Elvis and I think we should claim that."
When asked, Nore never gives a definitive answer on who he feels is the King of Hip-Hop, but he does feel "Eminem is a King in his own right," slightly agreeing with both Star and Lord Jamar.
"I've seen him change the game," Nore continued on. Watching the Detroit native go from not being able to sell tickets at an arena in Buffalo to "the whole arena" being sold out, it's easy to understand why he feels Em is one of the "dopest lyricists out there." "He ain't no slouch."
He also gave a reason as to why Eminem's fame surpasses that of folks like Jay Z. "You know how many White people was in Buffalo?" Nore asked. "He was the first White guy that was like 'I'm White," and Nore is quick to remind VladTV that there's nothing wrong with people of the same ethnicity supporting their own, since people in hip-hop listen to artists who they can most relate to all the time. The difference between Eminem and other White artists, however, is the fact that he doesn't try to be anyone he's not and is proud of where he comes from, mentioning his trailer park beginnings whenever he can.
Still, when it comes down to who he feels is the most influential artist of our time, Nore had to give it up to Jay Z at the end of the day.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Associated Press) -- Carolina general manager Dave Gettleman believes Cam Newton can lead the Panthers to "the Promised Land" so he made the fifth-year quarterback the highest-paid player in franchise history.
He'll get no argument from Newton.
"I feel like I can get us there as well," Newton said of leading the Panthers to their first Super Bowl title. "They're not saying anything I don't think myself."
Nearly two years after raising questions about his belief in Newton when he paused seven seconds before answering a question about whether he was a franchise quarterback, Gettleman made a huge commitment to the former No. 1 overall draft pick.
Newton signed a franchise record $103.8 million, five-year contract extension on Tuesday, capping 11 days of negotiations.
He will earn $67.6 million over the first three years, the most money ever paid to an NFL player during the first three years of a contract, said a person familiar with negotiations. The person spoke to The Associated Press Tuesday on condition of anonymity because the financial terms of the extension have not been released.
Newton's contract is the largest ever doled out by Panthers owner Jerry Richardson since the team started in 1995 and will keep the 26-year-old quarterback under contract through the 2020 season.
"I told you guys when I first walked in the door - after my seven-second pregnant pause - that he was a franchise quarterback, and nothing has changed," Gettleman said.
Newton, wearing a Panthers-blue suit with a matching tie and lapel flower, was all smiles on Wednesday. He planned to celebrate his new contract by cracking open a carton of milk, mixing in some Lucky Charms and Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal and "getting ready for practice" on Wednesday.
"Nothing about this contract changes my approach to the game," Newton said.
Several of Newton's teammates took to Twitter on Tuesday night to congratulate him, including tight end Greg Olsen, who wrote: "Very much deserved buddy. Look forward to even bigger things this year!"
Newton said the news hasn't settled in and that he never thought he'd sign a contract in excess of $100 million.
"There were so many times I questioned is this really what I wanted to do, and am I good enough to have everything that I dreamed for?" Newton said. "I can honestly say with hard work and dedication and an unbelievable supporting cast, you can get there."
Newton has been to two Pro Bowls and led Carolina to back-to-back NFC South championships since the Panthers made him the top pick in the 2011 NFL draft.
Newton started immediately as a rookie, taking over a team that went 2-14 in 2010.
It took four seasons, but Newton finally got his first playoff win last year when the Panthers beat Arizona 27-16 in the NFC wild card playoffs. He is 30-31-1 as a starter with a 1-2 mark in the postseason.
Since 2011, Newton has a quarterback rating of 85.4, which ranks 19th in the NFL, according to STATS. Newton's 82 touchdown passes are 14th most in the NFL and he leads all QBs with 33 TDs rushing.
Panthers coach Ron Rivera said he's thrilled to have Newton on board long term and to have the deal out of the way. Newton was set to become a free agent after this season.
"I think we are setting ourselves up to be in a good position where we can limit the distractions when we get to training camp," Rivera said.
The Panthers now need to do a better job of protecting their biggest asset. Newton has been sacked 152 times in the past four seasons, tied with Alex Smith for most in the league.
Newton suffered through an injury-plagued 2014 season.
- He missed most of the offseason workouts and minicamps following ankle surgery.
- After returning Newton fractured two ribs during a preseason game and missed the regular season opener against Tampa Bay.
- And when the Panthers were in the midst of a late playoff push, Newton flipped his truck in an automobile accident near the team's stadium resulting in two fractured bones in his lower back.
The Panthers finished 7-8-1 last season but still won the NFC South. Gettleman felt Newton's effort last season spoke volumes about him as a player.
"If you think of all of the things he went through, and the team went through, it just cemented the way I felt about him," Gettleman said. "He's gifted and he's a worker and (the game) is important to him. That's why we did this deal. We believe he will take us to the Promised Land."

JIANLI, China (Associated Press) — Divers on Tuesday pulled three people alive from inside a capsized cruise ship and searched for other survivors, state media said, giving some small hope to an apparently massive tragedy with well over 400 people still missing on the Yangtze River.
The tally of those brought to safety stood at 15 and at least five people were confirmed dead after the ship capsized during a storm Monday night with 458 people aboard, the official Xinhua News Agency said. The cruise was from Nanjing to the southwestern city of Chongqing, and many of those aboard were elderly.
Some of the survivors swam ashore, but others were rescued more than 12 hours after the ship went down, after search teams climbed aboard the upside-down hull and heard people calling out from within.
Footage from state broadcaster CCTV showed rescuers in orange life vests climbing on the upside-down hull, with one of them lying down tapping a hammer and listening for a response, then gesturing downward.
Divers pulled out a 65-year-old woman and, later, two men who had been trapped, CCTV said. It said additional people had been found and were being rescued, but did not say whether they were still inside the overturned hull.
Other survivors include the ship's captain and the chief engineer.
The overturned ship had drifted about 3 kilometers (almost 2 miles) downstream before coming to rest close to the river shore, where choppy waters made the rescue difficult. The location is about 180 kilometers (110 miles) west of the Hubei provincial capital of Wuhan.
The fact that the capsized ship drifted downstream was a good sign for rescuers because it meant there was enough air inside to give it buoyancy, and could mean there are enough air pockets for survivors to breathe, said Chi-Mo Park, a professor of naval architecture and ocean engineering at South Korea's Ulsan University.
"It all depends how much space there is inside the vessel," Park said.
Xinhua cited the captain and the chief engineer as saying the ship sank quickly after being caught in a cyclone. CCTV said the two were under police custody. The Communist Party-run People's Daily said the ship sank within two minutes.
CCTV said the four-level ship had been carrying 406 Chinese passengers, five travel agency employees and 47 crew members. The broadcaster said most of the passengers were 50 to 80 years of age.
Many of the ship's passengers started out in Shanghai, taking a bus to Nanjing for the departure to Chongqing. Relatives of passengers gathered in Shanghai at a travel agency that had booked many of the trips, and they later headed to a government office to try to get more information about the accident.
Huang Yan, 49, an accountant in Shanghai, wept as she told a reporter that she believes that her husband, 49, and his father, who is in his 70s, were aboard the boat. But she said she couldn't be sure because she hadn't seen an official passenger list yet.
"Why did the captain leave the ship while the passengers were still missing?" Huang shouted. "We want the government to release the name list to see who was on the boat."
A group of about a dozen retirees from a Shanghai bus company were on the trip, said a woman who identified herself only by her surname, Chen. Among them, she said, were her elder sister and her elder sister's husband, both 60, and their 6-year-old granddaughter.
"This group has traveled together a lot, but only on short trips. This is the first time they traveled for a long trip," Chen said.
The ship sank in the Damazhou waterway section, where the river is 15 meters (50 feet) deep. The Yangtze is the world's third-longest river and sometimes floods during the summer monsoon season.
Several rescue ships were searching the waters, and divers had been deployed. The broadcaster said rescue personnel were trying to determine whether they could right the sunken ship.
More than 50 boats and 3,000 people were involved in search efforts.
The Eastern Star measured 251 feet long (76.5 meters) and 36 feet wide (11 meters) and was capable of carrying a maximum of 534 people, CCTV reported. It is owned by the Chongqing Eastern Shipping Corp., which focuses on tourism routes in the popular Three Gorges river canyon region. The company could not be reached for comment.
CCTV reported that 6 inches (150 millimeters) of rain had fallen in the region over the past 24 hours. Local media reported winds reached 80 mph (130 kph) during the accident.
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang is reported to be traveling to the accident site. Xinhua reported that President Xi Jinping had ordered a work team of the State Council, the country's Cabinet, to rush to the site to guide the rescue work.
