Hopsin pleaded guilty Wednesday, September 7, to assaulting a woman in Sydney, Australia.
MusicFeeds reports that the 31-year old Los Angeles rapper, born Marcus Hopson, was sentenced to a two-year good behavior bond.
LegaiAid describes what a good behavior bond is and what could happen if a person violates it.
The court may place you on a good behavior bond. A good behavior bond is a promise that you will not break the law for a period of time.
You will need to sign a document called a recognizance in which you accept that you have an obligation to be of good behavior for a period of time and will list an amount of money you must pay to the court if you break the law while under the good behavior bond.
If you break the law while you are on the good behavior bond you will have to pay an amount money ordered by the court and the court may issue a warrant for you to be arrested and brought back to the court for the original offence and given a different sentence.
Hopsin was also hit with a Apprehended Violence Order (AVO), which is the U.S. equivalent of a restraining order, prohibiting from contacting the alleged victim for 12 months.
The "Ill Mind of Hopsin" rapper was originally arrested Sunday, September 4, after police responded to a disturbance call at a hotel in central Sydney.
The victim is described as a Sydney-based makeup artist. Hopsin's former girlfriend is also an Australian makeup artist, but it's not known if the incident involved her.
As we previously reported, following his arrest Hopsin posted a lengthy Instagram open letter calling his situation "bullshit" and expressed suicidal thoughts.
"I actually wanna literally die. Like literally. My funeral would be a blessing for me right now," he wrote at the time.
Earlier today, he made another Instagram post telling his fans that he was headed back to America and would have plenty to say through his music.
"I'll be releasing a new song in a few days. I'm currently writing it on my flight back home to America. I got a serious story to tell to world and I ain't holding back," he explained. "The media will sabotage the perception of any celebrity just by a title. When ur in my position, the people you loved and trusted the most will be the same ones who stab u and bring u down to your knees with no remorse...which is why I am in this situation im in right now. I've given you guys nothing but realness my whole career so don't expect anything other than that. So just to clear the air, Im still allowed into Australia and have no criminal convictions. The judge read right through the over exaggerated bullshit being thrown at me and worded it as "trivial". Ive done harm to nobody. I'm good. P.S. A nigga be feeling fresh as fuck in these suits haha."

Jerry Heller, who co-founded Ruthless Records with Eazy-E, died Friday, September 2, after suffering a heart attack while driving in Thousand Oaks, California. His vehicle struck the back of a mini-van and he was taken to Los Robles Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Depending on who you talk to, Heller, was either a great guy or a villainous record executive that took advantage of artists, namely N.W.A.
In October 2015, Heller filed a $110 million lawsuit against almost everyone associated with the movie "Straight Outta Compton," including Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E's widow Tomica Woods-Wright, director F. Gary Gray, the film's screenwriters and NBC-Universal.
He claimed that he was falsely portrayed in the film as a "bad guy" and "a sleazy manager who took advantage of Eazy-E, Dr. Dre and Ice Cube."
Heller's lawyer, Mickey Shapiro, says the bad publicity took a toll on the 75-year old's health and contributed to his death.
TMZ caught up with Eazy's daughter E.B. Wright recently to get her thoughts on Shapiro's comments, Heller's passing and his legacy.
"I don't feel [Straight Outta Compton] was 100% true. And I stand behind Jerry Heller to the fullest," E.B. said. "He was like a second father to my dad. So, I'm going to call him a second grandfather to me. I'm very sad about his passing. I'm just hoping to continue on my father's legacy and Jerry's and get out the truth."
E.B. feels like Jerry never got the credit he deserved as a businessman.
"I know people seen the movie and they feel like he ripped everybody off and he was evil. But honestly, how I feel is he's equivalent to what Jimmy Iovine is to Dr. Dre today," she continued. "I think that back then they didn't understand that. I'm riding with Jerry until I die."
Ice Cube's son, O'Shea Jackson Jr., who portrayed his father in "Straight Outta Compton" had a different view of Heller. Check out what he had to say below.
