Video After The Jump

Pitbull proved he could take a joke recently when an internet prankster figured out a way to get him to appear at a Walmart in Kodiak, Alaska.

Walmart held a contest where the location with the most Facebook "likes" would win a visit from the Miami rapper. When David Thorpe, writer for Something Awful and the Boston Phoenix found out about the contest he hatched a plot to get Pitbull to visit a Walmart in Kodiak, Alaska -- population 6100.

According to Buzzfeed, Thorpe started spreading the word on Twitter using the hashtag #ExilePitbull. Soon the location had over 60,000 new likes making it the winner of the contest.

Not only did Pitbull show he was a good sport by showing up at the event, but he made a video talking about it and paid Thorpe's way so he could also attend.

I heard that Kodiak, Alaska, has the most likes due to someone who thinks he was playing a prank,” Pitbull said in the video. “I said, ‘Okay, great, this sounds really good.’ You have to understand I will go anywhere in the world for my fans. So I wanna thank Walmart for the opportunity. And with that said I wanna invite that someone who thinks that it's a joke to Kodiak, Alaska with me."

During his Kodiak visit on Monday, Pitbull received a key to the city from Kodiak Mayor Pat Branson, who donned a pair of the sunglasses similar to the rapper's trademark shades, according to the New York Daily News.

He also performed and took pictures with fans.

Keyshia Cole recruits Young Money boss Lil Wayne for her new single "Enough Of No Love." The song is the lead single off of Keyshia's upcoming album Woman to Woman.

Conceptually I wanted to do something that was strictly fashion and beauty and just a little of narrative,” explained director Benny Boom. “I just wanted people to see her come back, just performing crazy. So I came up with this idea of her sort of being in this padded room as if she had lost hermind over love.”

The man who discovered Drake is suing his management company, claiming that he is being cheated out of his share of royalties. In addition the lawsuit claims that Drake is also being screwed out of money he has earned.

James "Jas" Prince, the son of Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J. Prince, filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court against Cortez Bryant, Gerald Roberson, Derrick Lawrence and their firms, including Aspire Music Group LLC, Laurant Management and Three Kings. Prince says they have refused to provide an accounting of what he is owed.

The lawsuit states that in or around 2007/2008 Prince discovered Drake on Myspace and introduced him to Lil Wayne, Bryant, Young Money Entertainment and Cash Money Records, Inc. Prince claims that despite an agreement to split the profits associated with Drake's success, he hasn't been paid a dime.

The suit also alleges that Drake hasn't been paid either.

He hasn’t been paid, and we haven’t been paid,” Prince’s lawyer, James McMillan told the New York Post.

McMillan told the New York Daily News that the companies are hiding behind one man, Ronald Sweeney, who represents both Drake's managers and the record company that pays the royalties.

McMillan says the companies are controlled by Lil Wayne and have sold over 5 million copies of Drake's albums.

"It's one big shell game," McMillan said.

Julia Beverly of Ozone Magazine points out that on page 2 of exhibit F of the lawsuit, Drake's lawyers appear to be attempting to get Drake out of his YMCMB contract.

Via CBS News

(CBS/AP) CENTENNIAL, Colo. - Colorado prosecutors filed 24 counts of murder charges Monday against James Eagan Holmes, the former neuroscience student accused of killing 12 people and injuring 58 others at an Aurora movie theater.

For each victim who died in the rampage, Holmes, 24, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one for allegedly intending to cause harm and another for allegedly acting with extreme indifference to human life, according to court documents.

Prosecutors also filed 116 counts of attempted murder against Holmes, who Aurora police said booby trapped his apartment with the intent to kill any officers responding there the night of the theater attack. Among the charges Monday was one count of possession of explosives and one count of committing a crime of violence.

Holmes appeared just as dazed as he did in his first court appearance last week, but at one point exchanged a few words with one of his attorneys in the packed courtroom. He was not expected to enter pleas on Monday. He ultimately could verbally enter a plea, or his attorneys could enter it for him.

Unlike Holmes' first court appearance July 23, Monday's hearing was not televised. At the request of the defense, District Chief Judge William Sylvester barred video and still cameras from the hearing, saying expanded coverage could interfere with Holmes' right to a fair trial.

Last week, Sylvester allowed a live video feed that permitted the world its first glimpse of the shooting suspect. With an unruly mop of orange hair, Holmes appeared bleary-eyed and distracted. He did not speak.

12349402269?profile=original

Investigators said Holmes began stockpiling gear for his assault four months ago and bought his weapons in May and June, well before the shooting spree just after midnight during a showing of the Batman film "The Dark Knight Rises."

The four guns retrieved from the shooting were purchased legally at three Colorado gun stores between May 22 and July 6, CBS News correspondent Bob Orr reports. A federal law enforcement source told CBS News that Holmes spent $15,000 fortifying his arsenal online. Authorities found a shipping label from BulkAmmo.com in a dumpster near Holmes' apartment, the source said. EBay was the vendor Holmes used to purchase some body armor, the source said.

Holmes was arrested by police outside the theater. Analysts said that means it's likely there's only one main point of legal dispute between prosecutors and the defense.

"I don't think it's too hard to predict the path of this proceeding," said Craig Silverman, a former chief deputy district attorney in Denver. "This is not a whodunit. ... The only possible defense is insanity."

One development over the weekend brought more grief. A woman who was critically wounded and whose 6-year-old daughter was killed suffered a miscarriage because of the trauma, her family said Saturday. Ashley Moser's daughter, Veronica Moser-Sullivan, was the youngest person killed in the attack.
