Alicia Keys and Reebok have launched a partnership to bring a line of sneakers designed by the singer to consumers.
"I'm actually really excited about the shoe because I am really a sneaker girl," Alicia said. "So now here I am and I'm able to do this really cool shoe with Reebok. I was able to design these whole four or five packages of shoes. My favorite sneakers. The 5411, there's another one called the Double Bubble. And there's the other versions. One's called the Princess and one is called the Nylon.. So they're all like the different versions of my favorite sneakers."
Keys was involved in everything from from picking her favorite Reebok Classics silhouettes to selecting materials and colorways.

Vado has been kind of quiet recently, but the Harlem rapper drops off something new with this freestyle over Meek Mill's "Burn."
Chicago police are investigating possible connections between the Tuesday slaying of a teen rapper, a raging Englewood gang conflict and a mocking Tweet on the account of the victim’s rap rival — rising South Side star Chief Keef, sources told the Chicago Sun-Times.
Joseph Coleman, known as “Lil JoJo” in the rap world, was gunned down near 69th and Prairie, about a block from where Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson grew up and where her family was slain in 2008.
Witnesses said Coleman, 18, was riding double on a bike — standing on the back — when a car pulled up and someone fired six or seven shots at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Coleman was hit in the back before running to a nearby home, where he later died outside as witnesses screamed “JoJo!” witnesses said.
A witness said the shots came from an tan, older model, four-door Ford Taurus that was riding low in the back.
After Coleman collapsed, people came to his aid. There was little blood, but Coleman’s eyes were dilated, cold and fixed. “It was the like the look of death,” another witness said.
When asked if he could hear them, Coleman attempted to nod. Paramedics arrived about 10 minutes later, witnesses said, and Coleman was still breathing and gurgling. But he later died.
Hours after the murder, on Chief Keef’s Twitter account, a message was posted saying, “Its Sad Cuz Dat N*gga Jojo Wanted To Be Jus Like Us #LMAO.”
LMAO is slang for “laughing my ass off.”
That Tweet drew angry responses among Chief Keef’s 224,000 Twitter followers.
His account later carried Tweets claiming it had been hacked and saying, “If u dnt talk 2 me or dro my manager … it’s not real.”
The 17-year-old, Chicago-born Chief Keef — whose real name is Keith Cozart — signed a record deal in June with Interscope, the same rap label of superstars including Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Eminem and Diddy.
Keef’s manager, Rovan Manuel, told the Sun-Times he was unaware of the controversy. It wasn’t until being told about the Tweet by the Sun-Times that Manuel realized why his phone rang incessantly Wednesday. His number was posted on Chief Keef’s Twitter page.
But Manuel told the Sun-Times he didn’t believe the message meant “anything personally.” He said Keef had a beef with JoJo only because “that kid made songs like Keef.”
“A lot of the stuff Keef does, that’s just cause he’s a kid,” Manuel said. “People forget that he’s a kid, a teenager … and kids make mistakes. He makes mistakes the hard way.”
Chicago police officers were on the street Wednesday night looking for Coleman’s killer. Police are looking to see if his murder is connected to an ongoing conflict in Englewood between the Gangster Disciples and Black Disciples street gangs that has been playing out in a series of threats on social media sites.
“Two gangs are fighting each other, going at each other all over the Internet and this is all stemming from that,” a police source said.
Police are also looking into whether Coleman had gang affiliations, and whether Keef or any of his associates are connected to the gang conflict or Coleman’s murder, the source said.
Many of Chief Keef’s Tweets include a hashtag notation “#300” — a known reference, police say, to the Black Disciples street gang. And Coleman appears to have been warring online with the Black Disciples for months.
On a YouTube account purporting to belong to Coleman, a video of the rapper and other teens brandishing automatic weapons was posted on May 25. Coleman may have tempted fate, taunting the 300 factions of the Black Disciples gang.
“These n*ggas claim 300 but we BDK,” Coleman raps repeatedly in the video. BDK is street slang for “Black Disciple Killers.”
And just hours before he was killed, a video of a street confrontation between Coleman and another teen was posted on the same YouTube account.
Coleman’s family says the teen arguing with Coleman in the video is a rapper friend of Chief Keef’s.
An earlier video purports to show Coleman chasing the same rapper and another man who Coleman’s family say is also pal of Chief Keef’s.
Coleman’s grieving mom, Robin Russell, said she was aware of the beef between her son, Chief Keef and his allies — but not how serious the dispute had become.
“I want justice for my son,” the stunned mother said as mourners gathered at her Altgeld Gardens public housing complex rowhouse Wednesday night. “It’s a stupid and senseless killing."
Russell said she’d heard there were people willing to pay for her son’s murder.
“It wasn’t a gang thing, it was a rap thing,” she said. “My son was going to get a rap deal like some of them have and they were jealous.”
Russell said her son grew up in Englewood and attended Robeson High School with an ally of Chief Keef’s. He was visiting with friends and was riding on a pal’s bike when he was killed, relatives said.
He’d recently been discussing a record deal with star rapper Waka Flocka and Brick Squad, his mom added. He hoped to earn enough money to take his mom, three sisters and two brothers to live in Florida, she said.
Coleman’s aunt Sonia Mares-DuBose said Coleman had been trying to “do like a Tupac and Biggie thing and get under the skin” of his rivals, but not to provoke violence.
Coleman’s family was well aware of the Tweets on Chief Keef’s account following the slaying. And upset.
“How do you go on Twitter and brag about it?” she said.
In Keef’s responses on his account, Chicago-born rap star Lupe Fiasco was called out, with the Keef account posting: “wen I see him I’ma smack him like da lil b*tch he is #300.”
On his account, Fiasco, who recently told a radio station he was scared of the violence Chief Keef represents, replied “I cant go 4 that @ChiefKeef & i cant let the people i love, including you my n*gga, go 4 that either. We kings not f*cking savages and goons”
Later, Fiasco sounded despondent — and done with rap, Tweeting: “but my heart is broken and i see no comfort further along this path only more pain. I cannot participate any longer in this... My first true love was literature so i will return to that...lupe fiasco ends here...”
Late Wednesday, rapper 50 Cent Tweeted to Chief Keef: “if you still in new York come see me”

Nicki Minaj angered quite a few Democrats who let her have it on social media outlets after she said she would be voting for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Well, as it turns out Nicki won't be voting after all because she isn't registered. According to Perez Hilton the Young Money rapper has been eligible to vote in New York, Georgia and California at various points in her life, but has never registered.
So it looks like that extra security Nicki might have hired won't be needed after all.

Chicago has been having a very bad summer. Between the first day of June and the last day of August, 152 people were killed. Of those 152 murders, 38 were teenagers. With bloodshed in the city's neighborhoods gaining national attention, the city's hard-edged drill scene—which has produced rising rap stars like Chief Keef, Lil Reese, and King L—has reflected this climate of violence. And the killing continues.
Last night, Joseph Coleman, an 18-year-old rapper known as JoJo, was gunned down on the city's South Side while riding a bike. JoJo was found unresponsive around 9 p.m. with a gunshot wound and later pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center. His murder remains unsolved but speculation on Twitter has been running rampant.
Back in April, the rapper released a diss song aimed at Chief Keef and Lil Durk. In the video, JoJo and his friends show off an extensive collection of guns. Yesterday, JoJo uploaded a video of himself and a friend driving by Lil Reese and taunting him. After JoJo was found dead last night, Keef and Reese took to Twitter, as did an associate of JoJo's.
Complex looked into the incident and put together this timeline of what's happened during the last 24 hours in Chicago.

Chicago rapper JoJo claimed affiliation with Chicago's Bricksquad crew—not to be confused with Waka Flocka's Brick Squad Monopoly. In response to Lil Durk's"Bricksquad, I say fuck 'em" lyric on the song "L's Anthem," JoJo made his beef with Durk and his associates (Chief Keef, Lil Reese) well known.
On April 27 Jojo dropped the song "3hunnak" (using the beat and cadence from Chief Keef's song "Everyday"), in which he raps "This ain't a diss song, this is just a message." The video shows JoJo and others flaunting guns and saying "BDK," a reference to the Chicago gang, Black Disciples—and BDK being a "Black Disciple Killer."

JoJo followed up "3hunnak" with a take on Yo Gotti's "I Got Dat Sack" making his own diss version of the track. The song was released on August 30.
Jojo Confronts Lil Reese in Traffic and Films It
Yesterday, a video was posted on YouTube showing JoJo driving past Lil Reese with the two arguing from their respective cars. JoJo can be heard screaming "Bricksquad" and hurling insults. At the end of the clip, someone can be heard saying, “I'ma kill you.”
This wasn't the first exchange between JoJo and Lil Reese. Back on August 14, JoJo uploaded a similar video of himself supposedly chasing Lil Reese and Durk. The video quality is poor, but JoJo's voice can be heard throughout the entire clip.

JoJo tweeted the September video twice and a Twitter user with the handle OsoArrogant$wagg referenced the incident as well. These tweets began around 4pm.

Chicago Tribune Reports JoJo's Death
According to the Chicago Tribune, JoJo was one of two teenagers killed in separate shootings on the South Side of Chicago last night. The report says JoJo—real name Joseph Coleman—was killed around 9 p.m. on the 6900 block of South Princeton Avenue in the Englewood neighborhood. That would be about 5 hours after he began tweeting about Lil Reese.
The 18-year-old was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound. According to witnesses, JoJo was riding on a bicycle when a tan or grey vehicle approached him and someone inside the car opened fire, striking JoJo at least once. He was pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
Police are looking into whether the shooting was gang related.
Chief Keef Tweets About JoJo's Death
Around 2:24 a.m. EST on September 5, Chief Keef tweets about JoJo's death.
First, Keef says JoJo wanted to be just like him and his squad and hashtags the abbreviation for "laughing my ass off."
Another tweet was sent and referenced "Brickboyz," which JoJo was screaming throughout the YouTube clip of him driving up on Lil Reese.

Yesterday afternoon, Lil Reese retweeted a Twitter user who mentioned the incident and criticized JoJo for staying in the car the entire time.
This morning, Reese tweeted about JoJo's death. The tweet has since been deleted.

Hip Hop mogul Chris Lighty was laid to rest today in New York City. His funeral was attended by some of the biggest names in the business.
50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliot, Lauryn Hill, LL Cool J, Russell Simmons, Maino, Grandmaster Flash, Nick Cannon, Rev. Run, Michael Bivens, Gayle King, Q-Tip, Lyor Cohen, Mary J. Blige and more paid their respects at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel.
“He was somebody that gave me advice,” Brooklyn rapper Maino told the New York Daily News. “I don't like to see this. I don't like to see families like this. We're talking about a legend. He helped artists become superstars and moguls."
Lighty was laid to rest in a dark suit, surrounded by arrangements of white flowers. A slide show depicting his life appeared on a screen.
According to MTV, Warner Music executive and close friend Lyor Cohen shared some touching words on Lighty during the funeral. Busta Rhymes and Q-Tip also added their personal memories of the man who helped shape their careers.
Lighty was 44-years old at the time of his death. He leaves behind a wife, 17-year old daughter and 5-year old son.

Despite the fact that his estranged wife Evelyn Lazada is telling anyone who will listen that she isn't going to give Chad Johnson a second chance, he isn't giving up.
As we reported yesterday, Chad tattooed her face on his right leg with the name "Eve" under it. The tat had a few people wondering what the former football player was thinking.
Last night he engaged in conversations with several Twitter users and let them know he could care less what people think about the tattoo.
Evelyn filed for divorce from Chad last month, several days after she accused him of head butting her during an argument that was sparked after she found a receipt for a box of condoms.
The couple was married on July 4th in St. Maarten.
