Former Baltimore drug dealer Carl sits down with VladTV to share his remarkable journey from the streets to recovery advocacy. Growing up in Baltimore during the height of the drug epidemic, Carl witnessed addiction firsthand within his own family, including his mother’s fatal heroin overdose and his father’s struggles with crack cocaine addiction.
Carl explains how those early experiences shaped his outlook and ultimately led him into the drug trade at just 17 years old. He details his rise through Baltimore’s street economy, his connections to various criminal organizations, and the realities of surviving in one of America’s most notorious drug markets. Along the way, Carl reflects on multiple arrests, including a major federal case involving possession of large quantities of crack cocaine that dramatically altered the course of his life.
The conversation also explores Baltimore’s unique place in American culture, including the influence of the iconic TV series The Wire and how closely parts of the show mirrored the realities of life in the city. Carl discusses systemic issues, poverty, addiction, and the challenges many Baltimore residents continue to face.
After leaving the drug world behind, Carl transitioned into recovery work and eventually became a drug counselor. He explains why professional treatment and therapy are critical components of recovery, emphasizing that addiction is far more complex than simply making better choices. Carl and Vlad discuss the benefits of therapy, mental health treatment, and the importance of addressing underlying trauma.
Carl also talks about founding the Baltimore Recovery Alliance, an organization dedicated to helping individuals and families connect with treatment resources and support systems. He shares stories of assisting people from across the country and highlights the importance of community-based recovery programs. His wife, an integrated mental health therapist, also plays an important role in their efforts to help those struggling with addiction and mental health challenges.
The interview concludes with Carl discussing upcoming projects, including a book and a film based on his life experiences, while celebrating the resilience, talent, and potential that continue to emerge from Baltimore.

New York Post - A Georgia high school science teacher who was allegedly moonlighting on OnlyFans is facing 27 charges for allegedly having sex with at least 7 students.
Maris Nichols, 25, sported beige jail overalls & glasses as she appeared in court for the first time Thursday after being indicted by a grand jury over the string of alleged offenses.
The now-suspended Alexander High teacher was arrested twice last month as fresh accusers came forward after the initial complaint.
She surrendered on Wednesday after prosecutors called for her bond to be revoked, citing 85 bond violations within a month — with her charges now upgraded to 27 counts involving 7 different accusers.
Eight of Nichols’ 27 charges relate to sexual contact — but she now faces accusations including the sexual exploitation of children.
She’s also accused of child cruelty, grooming, molestation, evidence tampering & creating obscene material for children.
The biology teacher — who was allegedly blackmailed over her OnlyFans account by students so they could get better grades — allegedly helped create explicit content that featured children.
Her next hearing will take place on Monday, with her arraignment scheduled for August 4.
She will also remain behind bars after prosecutors claimed she posed a “significant threat to the community,” according to court documents seen by The Post.
Nichols taught science at Alexander High School. Douglas County Schools
Nichols was first arrested on May 8, accused of having sex with the same student twice — once in a closet & then in a Hummer parked on a driveway.
She allegedly had sex with another boy in his car at a golf course & sexted other teens — sending nudes to 1 girl & asking her to discuss the raunchy “Fifty Shades of Grey” franchise.
She allegedly also had sex with 1 of her victims while wearing a “Jesus Loves You” sweater.
The ages of her victims have not been revealed, but at least 2 were younger than 16, WSB reported.
Nichols had been out on a $74,000 bond but racked up a slew of house arrest violations — including alleged visits to locations where children had been present.

In a revealing interview, Daz Dillinger shared stories from the turbulent mid-90s era at Death Row Records. He confirmed that aspiring rappers seeking to join the label often faced brutal beatings as a harsh form of initiation. “Anybody trying to get on Death Row was getting beat up,” Daz recalled, describing violent confrontations to test newcomers’ toughness—a “Death Row penitentiary school.”
Daz also discussed the infamous 1995 Source Awards moment when Suge Knight publicly disparaged East Coast artists, a move many credit as the start of the East Coast-West Coast beef. Suge was reportedly driven by his ambitions to become the “$700 million man.” At the time, Tupac was imprisoned but already aligned with Suge and Death Row, with efforts underway to secure his release.
This candid account sheds light on the intense environment behind Death Row’s rise and the origins of one of hip-hop’s most infamous rivalries.
