YPSILANTI, Mich. (FOX 2) - A boy from Ypsilanti Township is recovering after being threatened with a sledgehammer and then shot as he retrieved his bike from his neighbor's front yard.

Arnold Daniel says his kids were outside on their bikes on Candlewood Lane in Ypsilanti Township when they stopped their bikes and left one of them in front of a neighbor's home.

When Coby went back to get his bike, Daniel said the neighbor came out with a sledgehammer in his hand and said something to the boy. Daniel said he didn't know exactly what was said but knows his son said something back.

After that, the neighbor went back inside and Daniel said he shot a gun through the front window, hitting Coby in the arm.

"He tried hitting me with a sledgehammer but that’s not going to work because I’m too fast. (Then he) got a gun and BOOM shot me right here," Coby said.

The bullet went through the boy's arm and he was rushed to the hospital. Daniel said the doctor told him that had the bullet been an inch in either direction it likely would have killed Coby.

The young boy is home from the hospital and expected to be okay.

According to Daniel, they've had issues with the neighbor in the past including one time where he saw the neighbor trying to throw one of his child's bikes away.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff arrested the neighbor, who was identified as Ryan Le-Nguyen. He was charged with assault with intent to murder.

Three days later, he was released on a $10,000 bond. Daniel is angry and confused.

"I’m trying to figure out he got a bond so low for trying to kill my kid," Daniel said.

ROC FLOWERS (born Pietro Nannucci on November 25th, 1999) is a twenty-one-year-old artist originally from Italy.

Growing up he moved all around the world living from Chicago to Casablanca, Morocco and from Greensboro, North Carolina to Madrid, Spain. Now living in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in Spain.

For this reason, ROC FLOWERS speaks four languages fluently and consequently his music is a multi-cultural mix: soul, hip-hop and modern jazz influence.

Despite his young career as an artist, he has already shared the stage with Fabrizio Bosso, Antonio Farao’, Dirotta su Cuba, Sonny King, Mario Rosini, Riccardo Onori and other well-known musicians.

Earlier this month, we learned that while Donald Trump appeared unhinged as unhinged can be during the years in which he was the leader of the free world, he’s somehow become even more insane since departing the White House in January. And the reason we know this is because, according to multiple reports, he’s told people he‘s going to be “reinstated” as president this summer, several years before Joe Biden’s first term is up. According to the results of a Politico/Morning Consult poll conducted between June 4 and June 7, 3 in 10 Republican voters think that Trump is going to be back in the Oval Office this year. While 61% of GOP voters (and 84% of Democrats and 70% of Independents) dismiss the idea as the ramblings of a deeply disturbed individual who should’ve been put in a straitjacket a long time ago, one third is an unnervingly high percentage, considering, again, that we‘re talking about the prospect of Trump replacing Biden as president with 1,320 days to go in the latter’s term. As the National Review described the scale of the delusion last week:

And yet, one third of Republican voters think it‘s probably going to happen, which is probably a testament to Trump (and Fox News) scrambling their brains.

In other news re: the ex-president’s industrial-sized lies, NPR reports that lawyers who defended him in his second impeachment trial are now going to bat for his supporters who stormed the Capitol on his behalf after being falsely told the election had been stolen.

SEATTLE (AP) — Licensed marijuana stores in Washington state can offer free joints to promote on-site COVID-19 vaccine clinics, officials said Monday.

The state Liquor and Cannabis Board is calling the effort the “Joints for Jabs” program. The board says licensed adult-use marijuana retail shops can give away a single pre-rolled joint to anyone over 21 who gets a shot at an on-site vaccine clinic held by July 12.

The board has already allowed breweries, wineries and restaurants to offer free drinks in exchange for proof of vaccination — though alcohol-serving establishments have not had to host a clinic on-site to give out product.

Other incentives being offered in Washington include free sports tickets and prize money of up to $1 million.

The idea is to persuade more people to become vaccinated, helping to control the deadly virus and helping Washington to fully reopen more quickly. Gov. Jay Inslee intends to lift all COVID-related restrictions at the end of the month or when 70% of those over 16 have received at least their first vaccine dose, whichever comes first.

The board said the marijuana stores must buy any joints they intend to give away from licensed producers or processors and they must keep records of any product given away.

The beauty-queen wife of Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman is set to plead guilty this week to helping him run his sprawling drug-trafficking operation — but she won’t be required to cooperate with the feds, a source familiar with the situation told The Post Tuesday.

Emma Coronel Aispuro, 31, is scheduled to enter the plea as part of an agreement with prosecutors in federal court in Washington, DC, on Thursday, following her arrest in February.

Her attorney, Jeffrey Lichtman, declined to comment on the turn of events, which was first reported by the New York Times.

Coronel was arrested by the feds at Dulles International Airport on Feb. 22 on drug-trafficking charges that carry a maximum of life in prison.

She’s accused of acting as a go-between for her famous drug kingpin hubby and his alleged Sinaloa Cartel cohorts while he hid from US & Mexican law enforcement for years.

Aispuro, who regularly attended her husband’s 2019 narcotics trafficking trial in Brooklyn federal court, is also accused of helping him bust out of Mexican prison in an elaborate plan that included an underground tunnel.

El Chapo, who trafficked vast amounts of cocaine, meth & other drugs as the notorious head of the murderous cartel, was sentenced to life in prison & is currently serving his time at federal supermax lockup in Colorado.

A source previously told Vice News that Coronel voluntarily turned herself into the feds during her arrest at Dulles, suggesting she might cooperate with authorities.

But the source told The Post on Tuesday that her plea deal would not require her to do so.

GIFFORD, Fla. (WFLA) — New video shows a deputy holding a baby that had been tossed at him by a father who led deputies on a high-speed chase in Indian River County.

It all happened around 6:30 p.m. on May 26.

The incident started on State Road 60 in Vero Beach when deputies attempted a traffic stop for failure to maintain the lane. Instead of stopping, 32-year-old John Henry James III drove off.

The sheriff’s office said units tried to pull James over, but he ignored the sirens & kept driving towards Gifford.

During the course of the pursuit, James struck the front end of a detective’s vehicle. He also dodged roadblocks & at least one attempted stop-stick deployment. James’ car then crashed into an unmarked patrol car and deputies attempted to use stop sticks to disable the car as James led deputies into an apartment complex.

As he bailed out of his car, James grabbed a 2-month-old boy who had been in the car with him & threw the child in the direction of a deputy who thankfully caught the boy.

Following the throw, the sheriff’s office said James fled on foot through trees & between buildings.

Deputies eventually captured James in a parking lot & took him to a local hospital due to cuts to his face & James’ claims that he couldn’t breathe due to his asthma.

Deputies say James continued resisting, even while being placed on the stretcher to be loaded into an ambulance.

“You can’t throw a baby at us & expect us to treat you with kid gloves,” Sheriff Eric Flowers said.

James was medically cleared from the hospital on June 1 & faces multiple counts of aggravated child abuse, reckless driving, resisting arrest with violence, aggravated battery on an officer & fleeing & eluding. He is currently being held without bond.

Rapper Pooh Shiesty surrendered Tuesday to face criminal charges from a shooting that allegedly happened over the Memorial Day weekend at a strip club in Northwest Miami-Dade.

The rapper, whose real name is Lontrell Williams, 21, was booked into a Miami-Dade jail on an aggravated battery charge, jail records show.

According to an arrest warrant obtained by the Miami Herald, Williams shot a security guard in the leg. The incident happened on May 30 at the King of Diamonds strip club in Northwest Miami-Dade during the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Video surfaced on Instagram of him walking out of a show at the club with a weapon.

Williams is from Memphis, Tennessee, and had a hit song called “Back in Blood.”

Mariah Carey's looking to downsize and try something new -- that's the real reason she's parted ways with Jay-Z's Roc Nation, not any personal feud ... TMZ has learned.

Sources close to the situation tell us ... Mariah prefers to work with a smaller team where she has more personal time with managers, and Jay's powerhouse agency has a more wide-ranging business model.

We're told at Roc, artists like Mariah could have 20 or more people working on her team in various departments -- marketing, social media, music, merchandise, etc. -- and she simply felt it was time to pare down to a more intimate team.

Our sources say there was no "explosive argument" between the 2 music legends as reported by some outlets -- something Mariah shot down on Twitter. We're told they actually decided a couple months ago to amicably end the business relationship that started in 2017.

Carey's joining Range Media Partners, a move we're told also coincides with her manager Melissa Ruderman doing the same thing. Ruderman left Roc in early 2021 to become a partner in the music division at Range, and we're told she's still going to be working with Mariah.

Range is no small agency, but our sources say it uses smaller teams of skilled managers for clients ... which is exactly what Mariah wants these days.

Some of Range's other clients include Anna Kendrick, Bradley Cooper, Naomi Ackie, Michael Bay, Emilia Clarke, Johnny Depp, Taron Egerton, Michael Fassbender, Tom Hardy and Keira Knightley -- all big names in TV and film, but now they've got a music icon too.
