There may be more minority babies born this year in the U.S. than white babies for first time ever.
It could be a "tipping point" that propels our population toward minorities becoming the U.S. majority over the next 40 years.
In 1990, 37% of children born in the U.S. were minorities, but by 2008 it was 48%. This means the country is on track to become a minority-majority country by the middle of the century, according to Kenneth Johnson, of the University of New Hampshire. He researched many of the racial trends in a paper being released Wednesday, the week before the 2010 population count, which begins in earnest next week when more than 120 million U.S. households receive census forms in the mail.
The baby trend doesn't hold true everywhere, however. In New York City, Manhattan and Brooklyn kids are more likely to be white, he said.
In 1990, Manhattan's youth population of kids under 20 was 25% white. But by 2008, census data estimates 37 percent of the borough's kids were white.
It's a similar story in Brooklyn: In 1990, 29 percent of the borough's kids were white. But 2008, it went up to 33 percent.
"The number of white children went up, while the number of black and Hispanic children went down," Johnson said, noting that it's hard to say why because there are so many competing demographic factors within New York City.
But the one other main place in the U.S. that's becoming more white is Fayette County, Tennessee, in suburban Memphis. The change there is because of suburban sprawl, Johnson said.

On her new album due this year on Universal Motown, Kelly will shed her girl next door image.
“I’ve always been a bit shy at times with my sensuality and I’ve come more into that this record. Just fun, a freaky side. We all have one.”
Sounds good to me Kelly..

DMX appeared in court for the gazillionth time yesterday -- and went absolutely ballistic after the judge left the courtroom.
Visibly and audibly ticked that a photog was allowed in court, a fidgety DMX waited for his hearing to begin -- and after it was over, he went off.
Looking right at the camera, DMX starting raving "I'm the only one got arrested today ... f**king c**ksuckers do it every time man ... I get my rights violated but I gotta be quiet about it ... f**king bitch man."
The rapper is currently being held on no bond -- he'll be back in court March 16.

G-Unit's Tony Yayo has released just one major label album in 2005's 'Thoughts Of A Predicate Felon', but that hasn't stopped him from making money. He talks to VladTV about some of the keys to his success..
Besides the show money he receives from touring with 50 Cent. Yayo has his hands involved in several other business ventures.
He's working on his website, RockstarGroupie and his new production company with Doe Pesci who produced all of 'GunPowder Guru'.
He also has a clothing coming out coming out called 'Purple Rock'.
Tony finds it hard to believe that artists like Jay-Z and Fat Joe let their artists basically starve by not paying them fair tour money. He cited Remy Ma and Young Gunz as examples.

With the addition of Cory Gunz to the stable, it has been reported that rapper B.G. has returned home and signed back with Cash Money Records.
Although money troubles in the past caused a rift in the business and personal relationship between the rapper and Birdman, it looks like the time away has allowed B.G. to get his business mentality up to par to ensure that what happened to him before won't happen again.
It feels like the Hot Boyz reunion is coming a lot closer as days progress.
Already building his relationship back with Mannie Fresh, Juvenile and Lil Wayne, the vintage Cash Money army is starting to make their return.
Speaking with HipHopWired, B.G. spoke on becoming a free agent after the release of Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood and what it would take to be back with Cash Money and Birdman.
“If the numbers right, if it makes sense.”
He also spoke on how Baby attempted to help B.G. be released from Atlantic Records.
“E1 called Atlantic and asked them what they doing with me. What's the hold up on B.G's album? He offered them a deal, baby offered them a deal to and they turned him down. I guess, they don't want to see me win or not. Everything worked out perfect, it couldn't be better.”
Similar to the possibility of L.O.X. doing business with Diddy again, let's hope that B.G. has smartened up since then and won't make the same mistake.

A black market butt enhancement practitioner in New Jersey is reportedly injecting women's backsides with household caulk.
In the last two months, six women have been hospitalized after being injected with the silicone, commonly used around the bathtub.
Hospital workers say instead of resembling Kim Kardashian or J-Lo, the women's derrieres looked like they were filled with lumps and craters.
The women underwent surgery and were treated with antibiotics.
The treatments reportedly occurred in hotels around the Newark area. Doctors are now on the lookout for other potential victims.

An American woman who called herself Jihad Jane has been charged over an alleged plot to murder a Swedish man.
Colleen Renee LaRose, 46, from Phildadelphia, is also accused of conspiracy to provide support to terrorists, making false statements and attempted identity theft.
Irish police yesterday arrested seven people over an apparent plot to kill Lars Vilks, a Swedish cartoonist who had a bounty put on his head after depicting the prophet Mohammed with the body of a dog – though Vilks has not been named as LaRose's alleged target.
Garda sources said the four men and three women were in their mid-20s to late-40s. Some of them arrested hold Irish citizenship and some are from the Middle East. Converts to Islam were among them, the Irish police said.
Vilks's cartoon, drawn in 2007, prompted al-Qaida to place a $100,000 (£67,000) bounty on his head and offer a 50% bonus to anyone who slit his throat to ensure he was "slaughtered like a lamb".
At least three Swedish newspapers – Dagens Nyheter, Expressen and Sydsvenska Dagbladet – published the cartoon today.
The US justice department declined to comment on whether the two cases were connected.
David Kris, the head of the department's national security division, said: "The indictment, which alleges that a woman from suburban America agreed to carry out murder overseas and to provide material support to terrorists, underscores the evolving nature of the threat we face."
LaRose, who also called herself Fatima LaRose online, allegedly posted a comment on YouTube in June 2008 saying she wanted to help "the suffering Muslim people".
Colleen Renee LaRose aka Jihad Jane
According to the indictment filed in a federal court in Pennsylvania she sent emails to unnamed co-conspirators offering to become a martyr as well as to use her American background to avoid detection.
The indictment accuses LaRose of agreeing in March 2009 to marry a co-conspirator from a south Asian country who was trying to obtain residency in Europe. He is alleged to have urged her to go to Sweden, find the unnamed Swedish man "and kill him". The indictment claims she tried to raise money over the internet, lure others to her cause and lied to FBI investigators.
LaRose was arrested after returning to the US in October 2009 on a charge related to the theft of a US passport, according to court documents.
If convicted on the four counts in the indictment, which was dated 4 March 2010, LaRose could face a sentence of life in prison and a fine of $1m (£670,000).
Michael Levy, the US attorney in Pennsylvania, said the case showed that terrorists were looking for Americans to join their cause. "It shatters any lingering thought that we can spot a terrorist based on appearance."
The Obama administration has grown increasingly worried about Americans and foreigners living in the US taking up the cause of anti-American militants.
Two recent cases have fuelled those concerns: the arrest of a Chicago man accused of helping plot the 2008 Mumbai attacks and an Afghan immigrant living in Colorado who pleaded guilty to plotting a bomb attack on the New York subway system.
