A Lyft driver is facing charges, including sexual battery on an incapacitated person and grand theft, after a woman told officers that he raped her and stole her money inside her Eden Roc Miami Beach hotel room.
Samuel Bucevschi, 35, of Coconut Creek, was being held Tuesday in Miami-Dade County’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $520,000 bond.
In the case involving Bucevschi, police say the woman, who was not identified, reported that she was raped on Feb. 10 in her hotel room.
She told police that she remembered taking a Lyft ride to a bar about 1 a.m. & remembered the driver giving her his cell phone number, according to a police report. Drinking at the bar was her “last memory,” before she woke up alone & naked in her hotel room at about 10 a.m.
She then noticed that her cell phone & $500 in cash were missing & went to the lobby for help.
She handed over her Lyft records & cell phone information to police, according to the report. Her Lyft history showed that there were several ride requests that she never authorized, with charges totaling nearly $300.
Police then obtained surveillance video, which showed Bucevschi carrying the woman in to the hotel at about 4:30 a.m., the report said. He also went to the front desk with her to get a new key.
The video then shows him going into the elevator with her & then enter her room. Bucevschi leaves the room at around 5:30 a.m. alone.
Bucevschi was spotted driving in Miami Beach on Monday & was stopped by officers.
He told police that the woman accusing him was “acting strange” & that she made sexual advances toward him. After being told that a video exists, Bucevschi told police that he carried her, got the key from the front desk & brought her to her room but that “nothing happened,” the report said. He refused to give a DNA sample.
“Surveillance video was a critical component to this investigation,” said Ernesto Rodriguez, a spokesman for Miami Beach police.
Rodriguez added, “Unfortunately, you need to always have in the back of your mind that there are always predators out there who are looking for their next victim.”

Chris Brown is firing back at the woman who accused him of rape and sued him for $20 million -- insisting voicemails and texts she sent after their encounter prove it was consensual, and now the woman's lawyer is dropping her.
The string of texts began very shortly after he and the anonymous accuser hooked up on a yacht in Miami back in December 2020, and continued for several months. In the texts, Chris tells the woman she should take a Plan B pill after their encounter, and she responds that she will, and adds ... "I wanna f**k u tonight at midnight lol."
Months later, after she and Chris apparently talked about meeting up again, but never did, the woman sends a nude selfie and says "U were honestly the best d**k I've had lol i just want it again."
When Chris didn't respond, she seemed to get peeved, texting ... "U knew full well I wasn't pressing u bout no d**k. U told me to stay and then gonna try to play me? Nah that's crazy i didn't deserve that but u def got it."
In a voicemail, which Chris posted on his IG, she says, "I just want to see you again ... just let me know. If you want me to leave you alone, I will. But I really just wanna f**k the s**t again."
Chris clearly feels vindicated, and said on social media ... "No more dragging me through the mud. CLEARLY YOU CAN ALL SEE THE (blue cap emoji)." He says he's planning to sue the accuser because, "You don't play with people's lives like that."
TMZ broke the story ... the woman accused Chris of drugging her during the yacht party, and taking her into a bedroom and raping her.
We spoke with accuser's lawyer, Ariel Mitchell, and she confirms the woman sent Chris the texts and voicemail. She tells TMZ she's withdrawing from the case because she says the woman had not informed her about the messages.
Meanwhile, Miami Beach PD tells us the case is still under investigation, however they have received the messages between Chris and the accuser.

PEMBROKE PINES (CBSMiami) – For a second day, the head of the Broward Teachers Union spent time in the classroom where a special education teacher was severely injured last week.
The teacher, Trisha Meadows, had to be rushed to the hospital after she was attacked at Pines Lakes Elementary School.
According to police, a 5-year-old and 4-year-old began throwing things and flipping chairs in the pre-K classroom. At one point, the 5-year-old slammed into Meadows and she fell and hit her head.
BTU President Anna Fusco said the child then began punching and scratching the teacher.
When help arrived the teacher was unsteady and dazed, according to police.
“Physically, she is in an extreme position, socially and physically. She’s the single mother of a 2-year-old,” said Fusco.
Fusco said the teacher was attacked by the same child once before.
“Everyone is saying how could this happen. It does happen and it shouldn’t have happened again. The school district is to blame,” she said.
Fusco is advocating for more help for teachers who must deal with disruptive students. And she adds children with severe behavior issues need to be placed with educational staff that is adequately trained to deal with and contain violent outbursts.
The Pembroke Pines Police Department said at this point the child isn’t being charged because he is under the age of reason.

In switching gears, the Bronx artist arrogated his replay value into hundreds of staggering listens
Bronx, NY — February 25th, 2022- ‘Aint Gone Shine’ is a new dimension to the U M Services universe. In this dimension of a whopping viral single, the dauntless artist is finally narrating his true jet-setting character and travelling back to resurrect and herald the fire he got into music with.
The short, catchy and repetitive verses soundtracked cement the track into the hit the artist has always been destined to release. In ‘Aint Gone Shine’ the artist’s infectious rhyme schemes index the song into mainstream plausibility instantly – paving the way for his much deserving recognition.
Set in its deliberate ways, the honesty and precise design of the record in a way mirrors Glenn Hall’s experience of forty years. Obstacles after obstacles, the pivotal climb to going platinum didn’t shine when the first step was taken. In fact, it was a chase where the artist had to carry himself and become all-encompassing of hard work at once.
Accordingly, ‘Aint gone shine’ is referential to the coming of a dream Tune core once allowed the artist to acknowledge, devote and trust to accomplish. The artist is still an open-minded sphere, welcome to much more inspiration for his upcoming projects, but has now gained the confidence in his sense of self to finally up the ante and go viral in the industry.
Visit U M Services channel to check out, download, and buy his music. Follow the artist on social media to keep track of new releases, and feel free to contact through email for interviews, reviews, and/or collaborations.

Later, through his travel, he wrote and performed a hit song Bronx War Story with Wu-Tang Clan that went gold. He Learned about marketing, making records and the business of music – an integral piece to the artist’s now relishing success.
Now with his very own label: U M Services/Entertainment. He was able to release his first project:

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — A judge in California denied bail Monday to former two-time UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, who faces attempted murder & multiple gun assault charges after authorities said he fired at a pickup truck carrying a man accused of sexually abusing a 4-year-old family member.
Velasquez was arrested in San Jose last week after he chased a pickup carrying the man through busy streets in three Silicon Valley cities, ramming the vehicle with his own pickup truck during an 11-mile high-speed chase.
Velasquez, 39, fired a .40-caliber pistol at the vehicle several times, wounding the man’s stepfather, who was driving, in his arm & torso, prosecutors said.
Celebrity attorney Mark Geragos, who is representing Velasquez, told reporters outside the court that he plans on vindicating his client & getting him back with his family.
The "Free Cain" movement has grown across multiple social media & online platforms, but GoFundMe is no longer among them.
"We can confirm that both fundraisers were removed & all donors have been refunded," a GoFundMe spokesperson told MMA Junkie. "GoFundMe prohibits raising money for the legal defense of a violent crime."
Velasquez transitioned to pro-wrestling after retiring from his MMA career in 2019. A former two-time UFC heavyweight champion, he earned title belts in 2010 & 2012.

NEW YORK (AP) — A juror arrived at a Manhattan courthouse Tuesday to face questions from a judge weighing whether his apparent false answer to a question during jury selection spoils the conviction of British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell.
Lawyers for Maxwell, who was convicted on charges that she helped financier Jeffrey Epstein sexually abuse teenage girls, say the verdict should be thrown out over the juror’s failure to disclose before the trial began that he’d been a victim of childhood sexual abuse.
U.S. Judge Alison J. Nathan intends to ask the juror why he failed to note his personal history on a questionnaire during the jury selection process.
Maxwell’s lawyers potentially could have objected to the man’s presence on the jury on the grounds that he might not be fair to a person accused of a similar crime.
The juror arrived at court more than an hour before the hearing, but he declined to comment to reporters.
Maxwell’s sentencing is scheduled for June.
The juror, identified in court papers only as Juror No. 50, did several media interviews after the trial in which he revealed he’d been abused. He described persuading some fellow jurors during deliberations that a victim’s imperfect memory of abuse doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
All potential jurors in the case had been asked to fill out a screening form in early November that asked, “Have you or a friend or family member ever been the victim of sexual harassment, sexual abuse, or sexual assault? (This includes actual or attempted sexual assault or other unwanted sexual advance, including by a stranger, acquaintance, supervisor, teacher, or family member.)”
The juror checked “No.” The juror said in the interviews he flew through the questionnaire and didn’t remember being asked that question, which was No. 48 on the form.
Prosecutors told the judge late Monday that they expect to offer the juror immunity in return for his testimony. His lawyer said the juror would have invoked his Fifth Amendment privilege without it.
Defense lawyers for Maxwell asked the judge to immediately order a new trial, but she said she could not do so without questioning the juror.
The juror also checked “No” on a question which asked: “Have you, or any of your relatives or close friends, ever been a victim of a crime?”
Maxwell, 60, was convicted of sex trafficking and other charges after a monthlong trial that featured testimony from four women who said she played a role in setting them up for abuse by Epstein.
Epstein killed himself in August 2019 as he awaited trial at a federal jail in New York on related sex trafficking charges.
Maxwell says she’s innocent.
