FG ThrillA's video "No Rules" is an underground Hip Hop masterpiece. The song and video has been getting brought up in the "who is hot underground" convo's around the water tank at work. FG killed the song with lyrical presentation. Grooving over the Rex Lee produced instrumental he sounds like he just enjoys spitting some real him sh**. The music video only adds to that vibe. Crisp and cinematic from the top of the store to the streets below, FG ThrillA and his crew are seemingly having a good time. "An Online Film" holds the video production credits and deserve a nod too for their amazing visual presentation of this independent artist. FG ThrillA's sound, style and the video itself all give this emcee an "independent but larger than life" look. Keep pushing young brother...you give Hip Hop hope!

The remix game has changed in the last 20 years. It used to be artists would remake the song of another popular artist, but still keep it as close to the same topic and style as the previous emcee. Now, artists take a popular artists song and go for what they know in the name of friendly competition to show they could've ripped that track better. And that was up and comer Jason Greensocks intentions when he took the popular song "Goosebumps" by Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar, and decided to put his lyrical twist to it. And I must say...nice job young man. Jason rips over the instro with a savage hunger. Bar for bar he shows the listeners he too is one that deserves being recognized as great. Check it out today, video performance included, and hear what could very well be a household name before the end of 2018.

Syracuse new York Emcee Steve Cooks is an interesting individual. Not only does the creative art of his music stand out, but so does his back story. Starting off, Steve Cook recently graduated from Buffalo State College, which is honorable mention in itself. I personally can't stress enough to up and coming artists that this music thing, is a business, and any education you can obtain will further you both in life and business. So big ups to Steve Cooks for that accomplishment.
And on to the talented artists music. Steve Cook previously collaborated with Syracuse recording artist "CYPH" and released 2 projects titled "Heaven or Vegas" and "Ingestion." Both of these projects were nominated for Hip Hop Album of the Year at the annual Syracuse Area Music Awards as well as gained them the attention of local and global record labels including Universal Music Group. And rigorous discussions and meetings....Steve Cook felt it was his better interest to remain independent. Although he was very appreciative to be recognized, Steve felt what he had cooking, would give him more to offer and the opportunity at better advancements in his career.
Which brings us to the release of Steve Cook's solo project "M.I.D. Twenties.' Where most emcees work on the writing of their project for a few months, maybe a year...Steve took another route. He came at his musical art like a brilliant painter or screen writer, preferring to take his time in the creative process. And document his growth and understanding in a diary type process.
Between the ages of 23 and 28, Steve worked on this project. Taking the best of his work and compiling it into the catalog he released as his "M.I.D. Twenties" Project. 17 songs fill this project and there is so many different styles and topics of content covered. Steve Cook is an outstanding artist. His lyrical delivery is amazing. Each instrumental is lyrically attacked with precise rhythm. Steve Cook's educated background definitely shines through in his wordplay. It's almost as if this artist never runs out of words to say. What I enjoyed...was that even though this project was written over a 5 year span, there is no difference. It's like he didn't grow much, because he was already designed to be a great emcee.
"M.I.D. Twenties is currently available on all major music streaming and distribution services including iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and Tidal. But as a gift to his dedicated supporters, he has also made "M.I.D. Twenties" available for free streaming via the popular Soundcloud App. Check Out "M.I.D. Twenties" today and be a part of Hip Hop history in the making!

Erica became an outspoken critic of police brutality following the 2014 death of her father, Eric Garner, on Staten Island, N.Y. He had been placed in a choke hold by an NYPD cop while being arrested on suspicion of selling single cigarettes from packs without tax stamps. His last words of "I can't breathe" became a rallying cry for political activists across America.
Our deepest condolences go out to Erica's family and friends.

Nas is fed up with his ex-wife Kelis allegedly dictating how much time he gets to spend with their 8-year old son, Knight, so he's taking her to court.
TMZ obtained court documents filed by the 44-year old rapper, born Nasir Jones, in which he describes Kelis as "hostile."
The "If I Ruled the World" hit maker claims he's tried for months to work out an amicable agreement with his ex, but she refuses to cooperate.
Nas adds that he's currently at Kelis' mercy because the singer is in control of when, where and for how long he gets to see Knight.
He's asking a judge to grant him visitation on the first, third and fifth weekend of each month, from Friday after school through Monday morning.
