Soulja Boy has filed a lawsuit against his ex-manager claiming he was taken advantage of and duped into signing several bad contracts when he entered the business at 16-years old.

According to TMZ, Soulja filed papers in Georgia Supreme Court, claiming his ex-manager/lawyer Philip Ransom had him sign contracts that were "unconscionable, oppressive, and unjust." The documents allege Soulja signed a management agreement that gave Ransom 5% of his work related income for as long as Ransom managed him.

A separate contract Soulja signed allegedly gave Interscope Records 50% of all the rapper's copyrights. Soulja now claims that deal is "commercially unreasonable" and "contrary to music industry custom and practice."

Ransom denies the claims and has filed a countersuit against Soulja, alleging the Atlanta rapper still owes him money.

50 Cent's Street King initiative was just the first step as he continues to look for ways to help those less fortunate. With SK, the business mogul/rapper/actor teamed with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to help provide meals to one billion people in underdeveloped countries.

At the launch of his SMS By 50 headphone line Monday (December 5) at NYC's James Hotel, Fif announced a similar philanthropic component is tied to the headphones. This time he has partnered with Feeding America, a non-profit organization that feeds families in need throughout the United States.

"I’m trying to create a template that’ll become a standard," 50 told Rolling Stone. "A lot of the problems that Americans have, there’s no money to solve them. If we’re having stimulus package for them, [points to New York skyline], who’s there to help families? According to World Bank numbers, 1 percent of revenue from big business would solve all extreme poverty. Imagine if every bottle of Ciroc provided meals? If I’m able to influence my peers – because we have a lot of influence, we’re out in the public eye – if you start seeing myself, and the Jay-Z’s and the Diddy’s doing these kinds of things with the big companies that they’re associated with, it would make a dent in the actual problems. So for every pair of headphones sold, 250 meals are being provided, for all domestic sales in-store and at smsby50.com."

Another big headline this week has been the signing of DJ Pauly D to G-Note Records. 50 told Rolling Stone he saw a unique opportunity with the "Jersey Shore" star.

"When Pauly came by to see me, they had options. They had several places that they were going, and people that were interested in doing a deal with him," explained 50. "Obviously, the momentum from Jersey Shore was spun off into him being the first one to have his own independent series. They’re moving places and DJing in front of bigger audiences, and getting ready to make moves internationally, where the DJ is the star, overseas. When I sat with him, I saw the opportunities we could have moving forward, with brand extension and packaging the music."

As far as what Pauly D brings to the table musically. The DJ will offer his own unique brand of sound according to 50.

"I call him 'the bridge.' He’s going to be something between what you would get from a DJ Khaled or a DJ Drama and what you would get from David Guetta."

Video After The Jump

Last year when the Miami Heat managed to convince free agents Chris Bosh and Lebron James to combine their talents with that of Dwayne Wade, they were thought by many to be the best squad ever assembled on paper. The Heat came close to winning it all, but fell short when they were beaten by the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals.

With another year of playing together the Heat figure to only get better, and will be the favorite out of the Eastern Conference to make it back to the finals.

The current favorite out of the Western Conference would have to be the Mavericks, considering they are the defending champs, but the road back to the championship might actually lead through Los Angeles, not Dallas if the Lakers get their wish.

The Lakers are in heavy pursuit of Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard and point guard Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets. Both players are the best in the NBA at their positions. Combine their talents with that of Kobe Bryant's and you would have a team not many would be able to compete with.

Obtaining the services of Paul and Howard would require the Lakers to trade their most talented players Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum and Lamar Odom. According to various reports, the Lakers are more than willing to trade anyone on their roster outside of Kobe to make these deals happen.

If the Lakers are somehow able to pull this off would they be the most talented team the NBA has ever seen?

Amy Winehouse's immeasurable talent is on display in a just released video of "Love Is a Losing Game." The song originally appeared on Amy's five-time Grammy award winning 2006 album Back in Black.

Yesterday the singer's new posthumous EP, Lioness: Hidden Treasures, was released. According to the Associated Press, the album has already shot to No. 1 on the UK charts.

Part of the proceeds from the album will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, a charity that was set up in the singer's name by her father Mitch Winehouse.

"Just been told. Amy at number 1. 140,000 sold = £140,000 to foundation in one day. Well done baby," her father Mitch tweeted earlier today. "My heart is sad but bursting with pride."

Producers Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi put the album together after going through hours of unreleased material. Watch them give a song-by-song breakdown on the making of the disc below.

When 15-year old Brian Bradley aka The Astronomical Kid was voted off of X-Factor last week he didn't take it as hard as some might have expected given how hard he had worked to make into the top seven.

One reason he might have been able to accept his fate much better than Drew, who cried throughout the elimination show, is because he was never expected to make it that far. X-Factor is a show designed to find America's next big singer, not rapper.

"I’m happy. I wish everyone [on the X Factor] the best of luck," Astro told the New York Daily News. “Now, I could just release music. I know I’m going to be the next big hip-hop artist. I just want to save hip-hop . . . that’s my job.”

One rumor that has been floating around is that Astro is close to signing a deal with Jay's Roc Nation imprint.

I couldn’t tell you anything. I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said. “I’m not focused on the labels, I just got home. I’m just trying to make great music.

What record label do you think would be a good fit for Astro?

Video After The Jump

Simone Green is a photographer who worked for Death Row Records during it's heyday. On January 13, 2012 she will be releasing a new book "Time Served On Death Row Records: My Days and Nights" chronicling both the good and bad that came with being associated with the most powerful and controversial record label of it's time.

"At Death Row Records there was more good times than there was bad, but when the bad came it kind of made you forget about the good times," she said.

12349134867?profile=original

The book is said to contain many never before seen photographs of Suge Knight, Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg and Dr. Dre.

Check out an excerpt and video preview of the book below.

Alone in his office Suge said, “I want you to do everything we got going on. If we go out of town or do an awards show. Whatever we do I want you to do the photography. I want you to be the Chief of Photography.” Yeah, so I heard.

“Also, I want you to go out and buy 10 small cameras that you can disperse to different people in the company and they can report back to you with whatever they get.” He even said, “If somebody gets a beat down they’ll get that on film. Whatever might happen we’ll have it on film.”

I wasn’t sure what that was really about, control issues maybe, the important thing about this moment was that Suge Knight, Godfather of the hottest thing happening, wanted visuals of everything happening in his realm, and he just put me in charge of it all, I was officially on Death Row…..and life was good………….

You can also grab more information from the book's Facebook page.

DMX is proving that you can have a couple of speed bumps slow you down in life and still bounce back to become a positive influence.

Dark Man X was in San Antonio last Thursday (December 1) for a concert when he was asked by a fan if he would visit troops at nearby Fort Sam Houston. X said he do it, and sure enough he showed up the next day.

X played wheelchair basketball with the troops and posed for pictures.

"It made my day as much as it did their day. One told me that I gave him the best early Christmas gift he ever got and that has me still smiling," the rapper told TMZ.

Hip Hop was well represented at Billboard's seventh annual Women in Music event held in New York on Friday December 2.

While Taylor Swift took home the big prize of Women of the Year, Nicki Minaj landed the award for Rising Star of 2011. During her acceptance speech Nicki got emotional as she thanked her fans.

12349133289?profile=original

"I just know that I'm incredibly grateful and thankful for a couple of little kids... maybe a few million, I call them my Barbz. And I know they're not in here, but I know they'll hear me say this. Barbz I love you so much for being by my side for such a long time," Nicki said before starting to cry.

Nicki was later interviewed by ABC's Robin Roberts. Check that out below.
