Spanish matador Julio Aparicio needed two operations after he was horrifically gored through the throat during a bullfight in Madrid.

The half-ton bull, called Opiparo, struck after Julio Aparicio lost his footing and stumbled while carrying out a pass with is red cape in a packed Las Ventas bullring.

One of the animal's horns tore into his throat and punched through the bottom of his mouth as the crowd screamed in horror at the bullfight last night.

The force of the impact lifted the matador into the air, puncturing his tongue and fracturing his jawbone, before the bull threw him to the sand.

Fellow matadors dashed to the rescue and managed to distract the bull so medics could get to Mr Aparicio.

The 41-year-old managed to struggle to his feet, but collapsed with blood pouring down his neck and had to be carried from the ring.

He had an emergency one-hour operation in the Las Ventas medical centre, before being transfered to the October 12 Hospital in Madrid, where doctors performed an emergency tracheotomy and worked to reconstruct his jaw, tongue and the roof of his mouth during a six-hour operation

A spokesman for the hospital said: 'He remains in the intensive care unit of the hospital, has regained consciousness and his vital signs are stable.'

His father, also called Julio Aparicio, said there were no complications during the surgery.
He said: 'It was a serious goring. Almost his entire mouth was destroyed.

'It's too early to talk of recovery, we must wait and see.'

The injury happened as Mr Aparicio was attempting the faena, a series of passes in which he uses his cape and sword before delivering the death blow - or estocada.

Mr Aparicio, from Seville, comes from a well-known family of matadors. He is in a grave condition in hospital.

Evening bullfights are watched by sell-out crowds at the 25,000 seat Las Ventas bullring and are broadcast live on cable television.

Six bulls are killed in each bullfight

It is not known what has happened to the bull.

Rasheeda’s sorority-styled "Bed Rock Remix" featuring Kandi, Diamond, Lola Monroe and Antonia “Toya” Johnson caught many people off guard after its late April release. For one, it was an unlikely adaptation, but more so, the song debuted Lil Wayne’s famed-ex-wife-turned-reality-star, Toya rhyming a decent 16. Expect more where that came from.

“I’mma try it and test it out. A mixtape or album depends on how this one goes by myself,” says Toya. “I always had a little urge to rap, but never really wanted to because sometimes it doesn’t come off lady like. Then of course Wayne is a rapper so I thought people would be like, ‘Oh she’s trying to rap because Wayne rap.’ So I was like let me just play around with something.”

“It’s crazy because now that I did a little bit of that song everybody’s been coming to me like, ‘Oh can we hear something else? Your accent is so cute. You sound so cute rapping.’ I’m like wow.” As a platinum-selling rapper, Wayne found his ex’s flow a bit more amusing than impressive. “Wayne laughed at me on the “Bed Rock Remix”. That’s what men do. They’re never going to tell you you’re good or to keep going with it. You know their slick side.”

Toya also explains that her and Wayne rarely if ever, discuss music. They’re relationship revolves strictly around shared 11-year-old daughter, Reginae. The newfound rapper cleared the air about reports stating that an mp3 player had been found within Rikers Island, intended for Wayne.

“All of that stuff about MP3s and cell phones… that’s not true. I don’t know where that stuff comes from,” says Toya. “Yes, I did confirm with him. He doesn’t know where any of this is coming from. Wayne doesn’t entertain that. But he’s doing great.” - VIBE

I don’t know why Toya is saying that Riker’s Island authorities never found an MP3 Player in Wayne’s cell when Weezy has admitted that it is true

Kevin Rudolf’s upcoming album To The Sky will be hitting stores the same day as Drake’s debut album Thank Me Later – June 15th! We have already heard the first single from the album, “I Made It” aka “Cash Money Heroes”, and now I have found out that Weezy’s and Kevin’s collaboration record “Spit In Your Face“, will be featured on his album too.

I’m not sure what has gone on with this track, because I thought it was going to be on Wayne’s Rebirth album… so I’m guessing there will be some changes to the final version when it drops!

Jay-Z and Cleveland Cavaliers basketball star Lebron James are close friends which might prove to be a deciding factor in where James plays basketball next year.

Jay-Z is a New York Knicks fan and also a minority owner in the New Jersey Nets. That presents a very real possibility James could wind up with either team according to people in the know.

Sonny Vaccaro who was responsible for Michael Jordon signing to Nike and Kobe Bryant to Adidas told the New York Post that Jay-Z is part of James' inner circle.

"I don't think the Nets would be involved without Jay-Z," Vaccaro told The Post. "LeBron and Jay-Z is something that is inseparable and you almost have to include that in the equation. I think he will be consulted. It's a very good relationship. Jay-Z was LeBron before LeBron was LeBron. That's the respect LeBron shows him."

Vaccaro has known Lebron since the ninth grade so he may be onto something.

Another confidential NBA source told The Post, "If you ask me who the most important person in this is besides blood, I'd say Jay-Z. That helps the Nets, but Jay-Z will understand it as a friend if he doesn't come. But I think (Jay-Z) helps the Knicks a lot more than Chicago."

Before you dismiss the Nets as a possible destination for King James consider this. They will be moving to a brand new stadium in Brooklyn for the 2011-2012 season. They also have a very deep pocketed new owner in Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov.

Prokhorov seemed very confident when he spoke with the New York Daily News a few days ago. He told the paper he plans to go after free agents like Dwayne Wade and Lebron.

When asked how he would accomplish that, he said "I have my own secrets."

I would bet big money that Jay-Z is one of those secrets.

1. Pau Gasol

It might surprise some to note that I don't consider Kobe Bryant to even be the best Laker on his own team so far this postseason, but all-around production matters, and in spite of Kobe Bryant's brilliant scoring exploits, Pau Gasol's in-his-prime versatility vaults him to the top of this list

Fifty-eight percent shooting, over 21 points per game, 12 rebounds a contest, 3.6 assists, two blocks a game, and just 2.2 turnovers per night. On top of that, Gasol's continually improving defense has been a huge asset to a Laker attack that looks primed to repeat.

2. Rajon Rondo

Rondo earns extra points for his defensive dominance, he's allowed some big quarters against Mo Williams and Jameer Nelson, but by and large he's been a pest. Shutting his man down, always looking for a passing lane to mess with.

Eighteen points and six rebounds per game for Rajon, who has tossed around 10.6 assists in what are mainly slow-down contests, with fewer possessions to work with. Fifty percent shooting and two steals per contest for the Celtics lead guard, who has outright dominated on both ends at times.

3. Kobe Bryant

After a slow (for him) start, Kobe has come on like Kobe over the last couple of weeks, seeing his seven-game streak of 30-point contests end with only a 13-assist night (what a slacker) in Game 2 against the Suns.

Most importantly, after months spent working endless pick and rolls with Pau Gasol during the regular season, Kobe has chiseled out a place inside the Laker offense, getting his looks and doing his damage in a way that kept the ball moving, and his opponents on their heels. His 27.5 points per game isn't that far off his regular-season average, but it's the way that he's getting these points that is leading to Los Angeles' white-hot 105 points per game. Bryant is averaging 5.6 assists, 3.4 turnovers, and 4.1 rebounds per game.

4. LeBron James

In turning in over 29 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, and 3.5 combined steals and blocks per contest over 11 games, LBJ easily has the best stats of anyone who has played in the 2010 postseason.

And yet, it speaks to how great he is, and how disappointing his playoff run was, that he was able to put up those stats while effectively submarining his team's chances at getting out of the second round with a listless performance in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semis, and a way-too-late barrage in Game 6. James could have done better, which is the reason he can't do better than fourth on this list.

Funny, because for all of Kobe Bryant's last-second theatrics during the regular season, James still scored way more, shot better, rebounded twice as much, and dished three times as many assists than Bryant in the clutch in the regular season. Not sure what the Celtics did to make it all go away, but it worked.

5. Jason Richardson

A bit of a surprise, but when you manage to shoot 52 percent from the field and nearly 51 percent from behind the three-point line after 12 playoff games, this sort of fluke has to be recognized.

That's not a slam. J-Rich was and will continue to be a fine outside shooter, but he's not shooting 50.6 percent from long range for the rest of his career, and that is why this is a fluke. But it's also a fluke that has the Suns in the conference finals, as Richardson's 21.8 points per game average has led the team. Six rebounds per game for the Michigan State product, and he's only turned it over eight times since the playoffs began. Nicely done, my man.

6. Dirk Nowtizki

Had the Mavericks played a little longer, with Dirk no doubt approximating his averages of 26.7 points per game on 55 percent shooting, 8.2 rebounds and just 1.7 turnovers a contest, Nowitzki would probably be duking it out with Pau and Rondo at the top.

As it is, the Mavs were out in the first round, and though Dirk had some chances to aid his Mavericks down the stretch of a few of their losses to San Antonio, the biggest reason they were in those losses to begin with was because of Nowitzki's superb play.

7.Deron Williams

To be sure, Williams faded a bit against the Lakers in the second round. The pairing with Derek Fisher, the supposedly one-sided matchup that could have put Los Angeles on its heels, never seemed to work well for DW.

Over 24 points per game in the playoffs, though, for the Jazz guard, and 45 percent shooting, 10.3 assists, and three turnovers per contest. Something tells me, for all the "He's the best point guard in the NBA!" heavy breathing that surrounded his little run, Williams is far from happy about how things ended up in that second round.

8. Dwayne Wade

Wade's stats are sublime — 33.2 points on 56 percent shooting, with 12.4 combined rebounds/assists and 3.2 combined blocks/steals — but he had to work in only five games, was given carte blanche in the Miami "offense," and he turned it over 5.2 times a game.

That's 5.2, brothers and sisters. And while there's no good place for a turnover, some happened to come through at the worst times in the first around against Boston.

Get some help, see you next year, D-Wade.

9. Jameer Nelson

A little bundle of awesome, Nelson's 19 points and five assists might not seem like much until you realize that he's turned it over on just 7.7 percent of the possessions he's used up. That's an astonishing rate for anyone, much less a lead guard. Even if the lead guard was guarded by Mike Bibby for four games.

10. Dwight Howard

Howard's had his issues — the entire first round, Game 1 of the conference finals — but overall he's still found a way to pile up the impact. Pile it up!

He's averaging 16.6 points on 63 percent shooting, 3.6 blocks in only 33 minutes per game, and 11 rebounds. Now, if only he could do something about those four turnovers a game. Or Orlando's 0-2 deficit to Boston.

The big moment is almost here for Drake. His debut album 'Thank Me Later' hits stores next month and with it Drake's status as "the next big thing" will either confirmed or the Young Money MC will have to do some soul searching.

The talented 23 year old is realistic when it comes to the hype. Lots of fans and critics have already anointed him as a legend. But Drake is smart enough to know he'll have to earn that title..

"That's the most flattering thing in the world but at the same time, real, legendary status can't be dictated by the people who are still here witnessing it," he tells Billboard. "Legendary status is when the next generation comes up. The kids that are 15 right now and will be going to college in five or six years-if they say, 'Yo, I remember when Drake came to this school. That's one of the most legendary shows ever,' that's when you're a legend. I'm young. I'm 23. This is too soon. I really want to grow and be that guy."

When you listen to some of his recent interviews you realize he's a little nervous about his upcoming release. Who could blame him? The fame has come very quickly for him. At the end of the day Drake is just trying to stay grounded.

"When people really listen to the album, I think they'll say, 'There's some really interesting songs on here, really interesting lyrics, really interesting layers,' " he says. "It's very reflective, very personal, but at the same time, it's fun. It's about my induction into the rap game, into Hollywood, having famous people that are friends with me. It's all very overwhelming."

'Thank Me Later' in stores June 15.

Manny Paquiao is telling Floyd Mayweather Jr to put up or shut up.

The seven time world champinon has agreed to Olympic Style drug tresting clearing the way for the mega fight everyone wants to see reports ABS-CBN and UK Telegraph.

"So he (Mayweather) will no longer have a reason (not to fight)," Pacquiao said. "Let's see if that is really the reason."

Negotiations for the fight fell apart because the parties involved couldn't agree on blood testing. But Pac-Man said that's because it's the boxing commision's job to dictate the rules not the fighters.

"I'm a boxer, so why should I interfere with the work of the commission? That's the reason commissions are there, so they can set the rules."

Manny insists blood testing be cut off 14 days to the fight. That shouldn't be a problem at all because testing was stopped 18 days prior to Mayweather's last fight against Shane Mosely says Paquiao's promotor Bob Arum.

"The USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) stopped the blood test... they took 5 or 6 tests but the last one was 18 days for Mosley and 19 days for Mayweather," Arum told ABS-CBN News.

Arum added that this fight which would likely generate one of the biggest purses and television audiences in boxing history, could take place on November 13 in Texas or Las Vegas.

A man who shot and killed an up-and-coming rapper at the Beverly Center last year was acquitted of murder Friday in a case that focused in part on the victim's violence-laced gangsta rap lyrics.

Aubrey Berry, 24, was hugged by his defense attorney as the last of the not guilty verdicts was read in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom. Friends and family of rapper Dolla, whose real name was Roderick Anthony Burton II, wailed and sobbed in the audience.

"Obviously, what happened on May 18, 2009, was a horrible tragedy for everyone," Superior Court Judge Michael E. Pastor told the lawyers in court. "The jurors have spoken."

Berry testified last week that he opened fire in self-defense in the parking garage of the upscale mall. He said Burton, 21, threatened to kill him near the valet desk and reached toward his back as though he were drawing a gun. Police found no weapon on Burton, who was shot once in the left biceps and three times in the back.

Aubrey Berry (R) and Attorney Howard R. Price

Berry testified that Burton had been part of a group of men who kicked and punched him 11 days earlier at an Atlanta nightclub.

Minutes before the shooting, the two men saw each other again while dining separately at P.F. Chang's in the Beverly Center. Berry said he left the restaurant in fear and watched Burton leave a minute later and run at him.

Berry had a concealed handgun on his hip, a weapon he said he routinely carried after being the victim of several violent crimes. He had a permit to carry the firearm in Georgia and other states but said he did not realize the permit did not apply to California.

Jurors deliberated less than two days before rejecting murder or manslaughter charges in Burton's death and assault charges in which Berry was accused of firing at two men who were with Burton at the time of the shooting. Only Burton was struck by gunfire.

Outside court, defense attorney Howard R. Price hailed the jury for carefully weighing the evidence and faulted the district attorney's office for pursuing the shooting as a murder, calling the decision "absurd."

"This is clearly a case of justice being done," he said.

During the trial, Berry told jurors he had learned about Burton through online research after the Atlanta assault. He said he viewed an Internet video in which Burton stood with alleged gang members and boasted about breaking a man's jaw. And he listened to one of Burton's songs in which the rapper glorified gangs and bragged about always carrying a gun.

Price described Burton as a violent gang member and played both the video and the song — "Is You Holdin'?" — during closing arguments this week. He said they showed that Berry was justified in fearing for his life when he shot Burton.

"His music is horrendous, offensive," Price said Friday as he waited for his client to leave court. "I don't think he engendered any sympathy."

Deputy Dist. Atty. Bobby Grace said he was disappointed by the verdict but felt prosecutors presented a compelling case. He said he was unsure whether the rap lyrics swayed the jury.

"You'd hate to think that was the tipping point," he said outside court.

Jurors told the judge they did not want to speak to reporters and were escorted from the courthouse through a secure exit.

Prosecutors argued during the trial that Burton's music was irrelevant. They said his lyrics were simply entertainment: part of a gangsta rap genre that went mainstream years ago. And they accused the defense of victimizing Burton again by characterizing him as a thug.

Prosecutors told jurors that Berry was lying about the shooting and argued that ballistics and blood evidence showed the singer was running away when the fatal shots into his back were fired.

But Price disagreed, saying Burton was stationary and posing a threat when he was shot. The lawyer said the ordeal of the last year had taken a toll on his client, who was housed in isolation in jail to ensure his safety from gang members.

Price said he believed that Berry, who had no criminal record, was the key to his own acquittal.

"He was such a lovable, likable person that I think people understood and accepted his version," Price said. "Aubrey could never have won this case if the jury did not believe him."

In a decision sure to disappoint opposing hecklers far more than USC basketball fans, Percy Miller is packing up his trademark aviator shades and oversized jewelry and leaving the Trojans program.

Miller, best known as rapper Lil' Romeo, will not return for his junior season, according to the Los Angeles Daily News. The 5-foot-11 point guard logged a mere 19 minutes in two years at USC, appearing in just three games last season in part due to a sprained left shoulder.

That Miller was even recruited to USC at all is one of the more bizarre decisions of former coach Tim Floyd's scandal-tainted tenure at the school.

Most believe Miller received a scholarship offer to USC only because his relationship with childhood friend DeMar Derozan helped the Trojans land the future NBA lottery pick. Floyd has always refuted this, but why else would he have recruited an injury-prone 160-pound guard who averaged 8.6 points a game as a senior for Beverly Hills High School.

"It's very rare to give a scholarship to someone who may never play," All-Star Sports recruiting director Bob Gibbons told the Wall Street Journal at the time.

If you want to add a little humor to your Friday workday, take a look at how Floyd described Percy Miller in a press release when the rapper turned point guard signed with the Trojans 2 1/2 years ago.

"He is a very unselfish point guard who plays exceptionally hard," Floyd said. "You can't have enough guys on your team who you think are reliable and dependable and have a tremendous upside. He is going to be playing on one of the better high schools in the area and it is always been important to us to have point guards coming in that know how to win."

That "tremendous upside," as Floyd so amusingly put it, not surprisingly didn't translate into tremendous production on the court.

Let's wish Miller further success, whether at another college or in the entertainment industry. And let's hope USC can find a way to put his scholarship to better use in the future.

Young Money’s Tyga recently caught up with Lil Wayne in jail and revealed that the multiplatinum superstar is doing well as he rides out his one-year prison sentence at Rikers Island in New York. “It was crazy to see him in there in that type of situation, but he’s doing good,” Tyga told MTV News on Tuesday. “He’s holding his head up.”

Tyga caught up with the Young Money boss a few weeks ago. “He was basically just talking about his whole experience in there, everything that’s going on,” Tyga said. Weezy, who’s known for his superhuman work ethic and prolific musical output, is apparently focusing his energy on the new surroundings. “He knew everything about everything in there, so I was just basically listening to what he had to say.”

Even though Lil Wayne keeps a blog that he occasionally updates and a Twitter page that is now maintained by his protege Lil Twist, the hip-hop megastar isn’t too concerned about keeping up with the outside world. “He really didn’t want to talk about anything really on the outside going on,” Tyga said.

Tyga visited Wayne solo, but he said the Young Money and Cash Money family strives to get face time with Weezy whenever possible. “We all go at separate times … because he only gets a certain amount of visits.”

While Tyga’s visit was just to show love to a good friend, he wasn’t able to slip into the facility incognito. “I’m just going there … just getting ready, like, to see him … and then it’s, like, all these girls taking pictures with me, all these mamas up there,” Tyga laughed. “That was crazy, though, but he’s doing good.”
