50 put on a show during the 2005 Venice Film Festival that was later linked to the Qaddafi clan
A representative for 50 released a statement yesterday (February 9), regarding the show which reads in part:
"In light of the ongoing events in Libya, 50 Cent will be making a donation to UNICEF, which is providing vital relief supplies to meet the needs of women and children at risk during this crisis,"
The rapper has his own G-Unity Foundation and regularly gives back to the community.
Other artists who have recently been mentioned as having performed for the Qaddafi clan include Mariah Carey, Usher, Nelly Furtado and Beyonce.
Beyonce has given her portion to Haitian charities while Furtado has said she plans on donating to charity

Lupe Fiasco's often-delayed, crititically panned new album is going big dogg status on the charts.
Billboard is reporting that the disc will hit # 1 on its Top 200 chart with sales anywhere from 190,000 to 240,000.
The numbers are amazing considering the album doesn't feature a big hit and the troubles Lupe endured trying to get the record on shelves.
Prior to this album, Lupe's highest selling debut was 143,000 with "The Cool" which took the number 15 spot in 2007. His highest previous spot on Bllboard was number 8 with "Food and Liquor" in 2006.

The five men who made the Forbes Five Hip-Hop’s Wealthiest Artists list have all clearly worked hard to achieve their riches.
Taking the money they have earned from hip hop and flipping it into other ventures like Ciroc for Diddy, or Jay-Z's 40/40 clubs or 50 Cent's Cheetah Vision Films has allowed these gentlemen to go from the hood to the boardroom.
Check out the full list below.
1. Diddy ($475 million)
2. Jay-Z ($450 million)
3. Dr. Dre ($125 million0
4. 50 Cent ($100 million)
5. Birdman ($100 million)
I think 50 is worth probably 4 times what this list indicates, but check out the criteria they listed to come to these figures.
In order to form the list, we followed the same procedures we use to calculate the list of the world’s billionaires (released today) — valuing current holdings, looking at past earnings, leafing through financial documents and talking to a bevy of analysts, attorneys, managers and other industry players to find the nitty-gritty details. We considered only performers, which is why hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons isn’t on this list.
Though other hip-hop artists including Lil Wayne, Pharrell Williams, Rick Ross and others — not to mention pop sensation Bruno Mars, who penned Travie McCoy’s hit song “Billionaire” — frequently speak of ten-figure desires, we kept our list to five because of the lack of information available on the fortunes under $100 million.
What's your take on the list, do you think it's accurate?

Looks like the newest member of G-Unit will be coming out of the Bankhead section of Atlanta.
Shawty Lo made the big announcement on Video City Television.
"I sat down with about 4-5 labels. The best is... I had a meeting with 50 Cent/G-Unit." Shawty said. "I left New York last Wednesday. We had a good 6-7 hour meeting. I'm just waiting on his attorneys to get with my attorneys and we gone concrete it."
Shawty says he has a lot on deck with his own crew of artists starting with the 1st lady of D4L, Jha Jha, Costra Nostra Chain Gang and more. He figures 50 is a good guide to study under.
"I feel like 50 he's a hard worker with all that he's accomplished. I feel like I'm the down south version," Shawty said.
Shawty also spoke on the strange saga of Yung L.A. The ATL rapper got a duck tattoo on his face only to get it removed days later. He recently left T.I.'s Grand Hustle imprint, who publicly beefed with Shawty for a while.
"I think Young L.A. done kinda lost his mind. I don't know what's wrong with the lil homie, trying to jump lebels and do this and do that." Shawty added. "He's making the city look bad.

Aries Spears takes aim at southern rappers in his latest comedy video.
Spiers plays rapper Big Booga Boogaloo an obnoxious country artist who just wants you to dance to his music and throw away the books.

Tne 24-year old is about to drop his seventh studio album, has made countless hits and still doesn't get his just props. At least that's how he feels.
In a recent interview Bow vented about his status in the game and why he feels like he's in the same league as Eminem and Jay-Z.
"I feel like a lot of dudes who get recognition in the game, I've been doing it longer than them and I think people are stuck in the right now, that they forget about the past and that's one thing that I don't do," Bow Wow said. "That's a discredit to somebody's past and especially their numbers, because like [Jay-Z] said: 'They don't lie, stats don't lie.' I just get tired of that sometimes, when you work so hard and you're passionate about what you do, you want to get acknowledged for it. Other than Eminem and Jay-Z, I can't tell you another rapper who has sold out Madison Square Garden five times, besides me! I'm in that bracket, but people won't say that because they are so caught up with the past and Lil' Bow Wow and are not focused on the current."
Does he have a valid point. Do you consider Bow Wow in the same league as Em and Hov?
