Chef Kat is planning to feed several hundred homeless this Thanksgiving, featuring her specialty Bone Cleaner BBQ sauce recipes and she is asking for public support in order to provide much needed toiletries for the city's least fortunate. When Kathleen Bowen aka Chef Kat mixed the first servings of her signature Bone Cleaner™️ BBQ Sauce for a few friends and family, she never imagined the response would be so overwhelming. Naked bones were the only thing left on plates! Today Chef Kat is preparing even bigger batches of her signature brand for everyone from the hip hop community to the homeless. "Food and flavor are a big part of life," asserts Chef Kat, "People without housing have the same needs and desires. When we think about the homeless, food is a big part of the missing picture, but it is not the total picture. While serving them food, I was confronted with the reality that their needs are far beyond just good food. Simple necessities we take for granted are sorely needed. It is important for me to give back to our community and I'm truly hoping that people will join me in this Thanksgiving effort. Bone Cleaner BBQ Sauce's mission is to not only serve up good food but to serve up goodwill as well!"
Chef Kat has passionately created six unique BBQ sauce flavors that include her award-winning recipe with secret ingredients culled from her diverse family roots. Original, Mango Madness, Sweet Peach, Pineapple Paris, Peach Habanero and Spicy Hickory are all currently available online with her Spicy Hickory flavor headed to select stores early 2020. A veteran BBQ cook and South Central Los Angeles native, Chef Kat started making her recipe available to the public in 2017, after the untimely passing of her younger brother, UCLA student, EZ$ Harper. She garnered experience working in the food business alongside her other recently departed sibling, Todd Bowers, whose gourmet sausage company was a staple at the popular local farmer's markets. She infuses her cooking with her love and fond memories for both of them.

MONETTA, S.C. (Fox 8) — A South Carolina man stabbed a woman because he believed she was trying to feed him to zombies, officials say, WFXG reports.
Officials with Aiken County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call reporting a stabbing Saturday.
They say a witness on the scene told them that William Berry, 29, stabbed Rosemary Pressley in the back several times.
Berry reportedly ran away towards a highway after the stabbing.
When Berry was detained, he claimed to have stabbed Pressley because ““they were trying to feed him to zombies and being mean to him.”
Pressley was taken to the hospital to be treated for her multiple stab wounds.
The knife was taken in as evidence.
Berry is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

MIAMI (CBS Local) — A 46-year-old man had a screwdriver pulled out of his rectum after he apparently pushed it inside himself and leaving it there for a week.
The unnamed man, who suffers from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, arrived at Kendall Regional Medical Center in Miami with life-threatening septic shock, complaining of week-long abdominal and pelvic pain.
Doctors performed a CT scan of the man’s abdominal area and found what appeared to be a screwdriver, which measured 8.2 inches long by 1.1 inches wide. The tool appeared to have pierced part of his large intestine.
The screwdriver was successfully removed and the patient was found to be doing well with a functioning ostomy during a return visit two weeks later.
“The patient recovered and was discharged to Behavioral Health for inpatient treatment of his psychiatric disorders,” the authors, led by Dr. Youssef Shaban, wrote in a report for Annals of Medicine & Surgery.
The report stressed the importance for surgeons to maintain high suspicion when encountering psychiatric patients with lower stomach or rectal pain.
“The patient may not be forthcoming with information secondary to embarrassment or possibly psychiatric issues,” the report said. “Providers must express empathy and compassion while maintaining nonjudgmental composure.”

MIAMI (AP) — Rapper Kodak Black was sentenced Wednesday to three years and eight months in federal prison after pleading guilty to weapons charges stemming from his arrest just before a scheduled concert performance in May.
The 22-year-old Black admitted in August that he falsified information on federal forms to buy four firearms from a Miami-area gun shop on two separate occasions.
Black was able to obtain three of the weapons: a 9 mm handgun, a .380-caliber handgun and a semi-automatic Mini Draco weapon. Authorities said one of the guns was found at the scene of a March shooting in Pompano Beach, although he has not been charged in that case.
Black also faces drug, weapons and sexual assault charges in other states that remain pending. He has had several previous arrests.
U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno could have sentenced Black to the maximum of 10 years, and prosecutors wanted eight years in part because Black allegedly was involved in a jail fight that injured a corrections officer.
“I think it’s time for us to give some tough love in this case,” said Assistant U.S. Attorney Bruce Brown. “I just don’t see how and when he’s taken these things seriously.”
But Moreno noted that Black has given money anonymously to charitable causes and could continue to do so behind bars.
“My suggestion would be you continue to be generous,” the judge said.
Black is a Florida native who was born to Haitian American parents as Dieuson Octave and who now goes by the legal name of Bill Kapri.
He was arrested during the Rolling Loud hip-hop festival in May that was marred by several violent incidents, including an unrelated shooting at a seaside property owned by President Donald Trump. Black has remained in custody since then his arrest.
“I have made some decisions I’m not proud of making,” Black said in court. “I do take full responsibility for my mishap.”
Black’s better-known singles include “Skrt,” ″Zeze”, “Roll in Peace”, “Tunnel Vision”, and “No Flockin.”
