With the presidential election fast approaching a wide variety of artists are making their preferences known. Waka Flocka Flame is the latest to publicly endorse President Obama. The Atlanta rapper talked to Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg about his decision.
"It's my first time voting in 26 years and I'm a taxpayer now. So you know you gotta go for the right guy. They say every vote counts so I had to make sure mine did," Waka said.
The Brick Squad Monopoly boss said Obama is his choice and explained why he never voted before.
"Honestly, I'm not trying to be hard [or] trying to be tough. If you from the streets how can voting help your life? How can tax dollars help your life? You don't get paid off of taxes, insurance, medical... you don't need none of that," he said. "So when you shift your life and become a civilized person and start living like a civilized person then you gotta follow the rules."
There was also a pretty funny segment where Peter asked Waka various questions about current topics. Waka said he didn't know who President Obama was running against.
"I know it's a guy that wanna stop PBS and Big Bird."

If "Pain" is an indication of the direction Pusha T is taking on his upcoming Def Jam debut album then fans have a lot to forward to. Future lends a hand on the hook of this Kanye West and No T.D.-produced heater.
Def Jam has found it's new Vice President of A&R.
Barry Weiss, Chairman & CEO of Universal Republic and Island Def Jam Motown, and Karen Kwak, Executive Vice President/Head of A&R at Island Def Jam Music Group, announced that Grammy Award winning singer/super producer The-Dream would be be taking over the position.
"The-Dream is a gifted songwriter and producer who writes from a unique cultural point of view. This rare ability sets him apart from all other writers and producers out there," said Weiss.
The-Dream, real name Terius Nash, has a proven track record as a hit maker having penned songs like "Umbrella" for Rihanna, "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" for Beyonce, "Touch My Body" for Mariah Carey and many more. Now he will be looking to find new talent for Def Jam.
According to a statement issued on Oct. 8, The-Dream “will have a comprehensive, broad reaching A&R portfolio.” He will work with both new and established talent at the label, and also work in a production capacity with artists on the Def Jam roster.

RZA is making his directorial debut with the movie The Man with the Iron Fists. It's a movie he also stars in co-wrote with Eli Roth.
The Wu Tang Clan leader stopped by The Breakfast Club today and talked about how music and film are similiar.
"To me music and film have the same wavelength, " he said. "A lot of people may have not comprehended that, but I'm on of the kids that did comprehend it. It all activates under the same model. When I was making Wu Tang albums I was actually trying to make movies, so when you listen to a 'Cuban Linx' you felt like you were getting a movie in your head. Now that I've kind of rose above that I'm making physical movies now with hip hop music sounds as a backdrop to it."
RZA compared The Man with the Iron Fists to Wu Tang Clan's 1993 classic album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).
"To me this feels as good as '36 Chambers.' I really feel proud of what I've put in there. And I think when fans see this flick it's going to kind of revitalize to me the whole industry in a sense because what I did for what I had for my resources it's really like going back to that first '36 Chambers' album," he explained.
The rapper/actor/director/producer also spoke on the possibility of there being another Wu Tang Clan album.
"I don't know... I know the 20th year anniversary is coming up. Some of the brothers we've been talking about potentially going back in [and] maybe do a world tour. Just one more last hurrah to close the book. 20 years is a long time time for a hip hop artist definitely to be in the business, but for any artist. Usually 3 to 5 years is the run and you're gone. But we've been doing what we're doing feeding our families for 20 years with this."
Other topics included internal conflicts within Wu Tang Clan, possible Wu Tang movie, who excites him as a producer and more.
The Man with the Iron Fists hits theaters on November 2nd.

Missy Elliot is back on the music scene. She recently dropped two new singles featuring frequent collaborator Timbaland. While she was taking a break from music the singer/rapper got a serious health scare when she came down with Graves disease, an autoimmune disorder.
She talks with Sway in the Morning about that difficult battle.
"I was scared," she said. "Anybody that has Graves disease, you feel like you finna be outta here. And for me when you say you gotta take a radiation pill you think you really finna be outta here. You know, like what do I really have? And you gotta go through seeing my eyes change, and your hair fall out, your skin change. For me that was traumatic. I remember [being] in the studio with Monica doing 'Everything to Me.' And I couldn't even write the words down because your nervous system breaks down. So you shake so bad. That was a difficult time."

Christina Milian hasn't released an album since 2006's So Amazin', but the 31-year old Cuban singer in on the comeback trail. With a new record deal with Young Money in her back pocket she is looking forward to putting out new music.
She recently stopped by Big Boy's Neighborhood to talk about what it's like working with Lil Wayne.
"I love it! It's really cool, Wayne just gets his artists which is great," she said. "I have very one-on-one business relationship with everyone from Mack [Maine] to Wayne. They're just very involved in the project."
Christina is the Social Media Correspondent for The Voice, She said that she is looking to get a single or a video ready to debut on the show by the end of the season
"I really wanna pick the perfect single. It's been a second since I've been out musically so I do not wanna fail. I don't believe in failure so I'm trying new things and figuring out the new pieces.. That's one thing that's great about Wayne. He's like, 'Work with different producers, take your time. But at the same time don't be stuck on one thing.'"

What should have a joyous occasion for all turned into a nightmare in Philadelphia on Sunday. NBC 10 reports that a wedding at the Sheraton Society Hill hotel turned into a free for all as 75 to 100 people brawled.
Police say members of one wedding party were already fighting when another wedding party was arriving at the hotel. A member of the second wedding party was hit sparking a drunken brawl that took dozens of police to break up.
At one point the police became outnumbered and had to call for backup.
One 57-year old man suffered a heart attack and later died at Jefferson Hospital. He was the uncle of the bride. He was not involved in the fight.
The fight was caught on tape by 15-year old Max Schultz, who was at the hotel celebrating his 15th birthday.
"I was up on the second floor watching. It was bedlam, out of hand." Schultz said.
Two people were arrested for disorderly conduct and one person was arrested for assault on a police officer. Other arrests could be made after police review the videotape.
The hotel issued a statement in response to the brawl.
"We continue to cooperate with the authorities and as this is an on-going police investigation any questions should be directed to the local police department. Our sincerest condolences go out to the family for their loss."
