Video After The Jump

Legendary rapper Slick Rick was given a rude welcome at Barclays Center last night. Rick was the halftime performer during the New York Knicks Vs. the Brooklyn Nets game.

During his brief set Rick seemed to have trouble hearing the music which caused him to appear off beat at times. The Brooklyn crowd wasn't pleased and they let Rick know it by booing him.

Video After The Jump

50 Cent released his new single "My Life" from his upcoming Street King Immortal album on Monday November 26th, and already the positive feedback is overwhelming. The song features frequent collaborator Eminem and Adam Levine of Maroon 5.

50 and Adam gave a standout performance of the S1-produced song on NBC's The Voice last night. The music video for it premiered today on MTV.

Fif and Slim sat down with MTV to break down the meaning of the video and song.

12349683874?profile=original

"The [Street King Immortal} album is more personal than albums in the past," 50 said. "When I wrote Hate It Or Love It, I was talking about when I was growing up {I saw] my mom kissing a woman. So I put it on Game's record because I wasn't sure the public was ready to hear that from me. Because we only offered a certain style of content to them. That was me putting my toes in the tub to comfortably make that transition. This record is allowing us to do different things creatively. I've been able to come out a few times, more than usual to come to Detroit and work with Em for this record"

Eminem goes on to explain that "My Life" represents the feeling he and 50 get by being in the sometimes overwhelming media spotlight.

12349685056?profile=original

"[The video] is kind of like a glimpse into the way we were feeling when we made the record," Em said. "The video is kind of abstract. It's kind of metaphoric in a sense of like the paranoia of feeling like we're being chased. The helicopter in the video kind of represents the spotlight. Whether it's true or not, it's kind of how we feel. It's kind of a metaphor of us running from our lives. Personal lives and from fame and everything that goes with the game."

Aerosmith singer and former American Idol judge Steven Tyler has angered Nicki Minaj with comments he made to MTV about her.

Tyler was asked if it was difficult to be a judge on the talent show. While giving his answer Tyler was critical of Minaj's judging skills.

"You just have to give your opinion. It wasn't hard for me, but I would imagine it's hard for some people, and they need a manager to say 'Shut the f*ck up, and just give them your opinion,' " Tyler said. "These kids, they just got out of a car from the Midwest somewhere and they're in New York City, they're scared to death; you're not going to get the best [out of them]. ... If it was Bob Dylan, Nicki Minaj would have had him sent to the cornfield! Whereas, if it was Bob Dylan with us, we would have brought the best of him out, as we did with Phillip Phillips. Just saying."

Minaj quickly responded to the criticism by heading to her Twitter account to vent to her 15 million followers.

"Steven Tyler said I would have sent Bob Dylan to a cornfield??? Steven, you haven't seen me judge one single solitary contestant yet," Minaj wrote, before accusing Tyler of being racist. "I understand you really wanted to keep your job but take that up with the producers. I haven't done anything to you. That's a racist comment. You assume that I wouldn't have liked Bob Dylan??? why? black? rapper? what? go f*ck yourself and worry about yourself babe."

Minaj was far from done. Egged on by her "barbz" she continued her diatribe. She also managed to throw in a dig at Mariah Carey.

"When Steven 1st went on Idol he was ridiculed by his peers & fans alike. Called a sell out. So what does he do? Ridicule the next judge," Nicki continued.

Do you think Tyler was being racist? Or was he simply giving his opinion?

Another day, another Twitter beef. White Girls Mob rapper V-Nasty has gone ape sh*t on Soulja Boy via the social networking site today. First she called him out for being weaker than his girlfriend Diamond. She then said she would put $500,000 on Chris Brown in a fight against Soulja. After that she continued to ramble on.

So far Soulja has ignored V-Nasty's rant.

Nate Dogg's fans are very happy today after it was announced that his fourth and final solo album will be released in 2013. According to AllHipHop the name of the album is It's A Wonderful Life. It will be released through a new deal between Seven Arts Music and United Media and Music Group,

The project will consist of previously unreleased material and will boast heavyweight features from Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre, Eminem and Jay-Z.

In other Nate Dogg news, his children have won a legal battle involving his estate after his mother Ruth Holmes and ex-wife LaToya Calvin threw in the towel.

LaToya took over Nate's estate after his passing in 2011 from complications of multiple strokes. The singer did not leave a will. In August LaToya filed court documents seeking to have Holmes appointed as her co-administrator.

Nate's children were very upset by the move and asked that a professional administrator be appointed because they believed the two women were only out for themselves and would not spread the wealth equally.

12349679280?profile=original

Nate's daughter, Aundrane Hale, told TMZ back in September that Holmes was never a grandmother to the kids and had withheld money from them in the past. She also said that LaToya didn't even attend Nate's funeral.

LaToya withdrew her petition for control earlier this month, and her lawyer told TMZ, "Nate's children wanted a 'professional administration' and Ruth and LaToya decided to withdraw to avoid conflict with the children."

As far as who is in control of the estate now, that will be determined later.
