Drake Announces 15 City College Campus Tour

While the rest of us may be hoping to one day quit our day jobs and record a single mixtape which will catapult us into rap stardom. We might have to settle for living vicariously through Drake

The Canadian rapper and actor continues to make the most of the opportunity the mixtape 'So Far Gone' has afforded him.

Drake is caking up off of tour dates and XXL is reporting he's added a college tour to his itinerary.

The "Campus Consciousness" tour will see Drake making stops at Penn State, Michigan State University, West Virginia University, University of Central Florida and the University of Kentucky among other schools.

The tour will make 15 stops and runs from April 8 - May 9

Kid Cudi has never been a rapper that finds it necessary to bring down another rapper in order to promote himself. He is, however, a man that apparently believes in respect and will immediately shut down those that choose to not show him such courtesy. During a show at the House Of Blues in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the Man on the Moon spoke on his recent activity involving the assault on a fan that resulted in him being ejected from Lady Gaga's tour. The media has found many different angles and spins to place on the incident so Cudi has found no other alternative but to provide a little clarity and defend himself. "They trying to make me look like the poster boy for violence and ignorance," Cudi said. "I tell motherf*ckers I'm the poster boy for honesty, realness, anarchy, I don't give a f*ck about this business." Almost like a punching bag, the young rapper has been placed under the microscope and beaten by many, being judged for his preference and methods in showcasing his material his own distinct way. What started as a response turned quickly into his own uproar as the rapper proceeded to provide further commentary on the music industry and how his own experiences have forever changed his perceptions on particular artists. "I'm the truest motherf*cker in this business and people trying to destroy me. All these other n*ggas that y'all probably fans of is sucker a** n*ggas, I met them. N*ggas I was a fan of when I was buying their CDs, I'm not a fan of they music no more. This business is WWF fam and if you don't comply, they try to destroy you...I never talk sh*t, I came to this game, just wanted to smoke my weed and motherf*ckers just wanna destroy me, I don't give a f*ck. I'm unstoppable." Source: HipHopWired Follow Me @Twitter.com/ChasinMoPaper .

It's not a tour, it's a "music festival"! As we reported earlier this month, Lil Wayne is going back on the road this summer, and he'll be joined by Young Jeezy, Soulja Boy Tell'em and Drake. The outing was officially announced on Monday morning (June 15) and dubbed Young Money Presents: America's Most Wanted Music Festival. The tour starts July 27 at the Toyota Pavilion at Scranton, Pennsylvania, and ends on August 23 in Dallas. According to the tour's reps, Weezy will headline, after Jeezy, Soulja Boy and Drake go on in front of him. All parties are currently working on new LPs. Lil Wayne's Rebirth is due in August, while Jeezy's Thug Motivation 103, Soulja Boy's The DeAndre Way and Drake's Thank Me Later do not have dates yet; Drake has not even signed with a label yet. Over the weekend, Drake talked with MTV News about the tour. "It's definitely moving along well," he said. "I think it will be an exciting night for each city that we go to. You got two young guys [and] two guys that have been killing the game for a minute, so I think it will be a dope tour." »7/27 Scranton, PA @ Toyota Pavilion »7/29 Saratoga, NY @ Performing Arts Center »7/30 Pittsburgh, PA @ Post Gazette Pavilion »7/31 Philadelphia @ Susquehanna Bank Center »8/1 Wantagh, NY @ Jones Beach Theater »8/2 Virginia Beach @ Verizon Wireless Amphitheater »8/4 Toronto @ Molson Amphitheater »8/5 Montreal @ Bell Centre »8/6 Cleveland @ Blossom Pavilion »8/7 Washington, D.C. @ Nissan Pavilion »8/8 Raleigh, NC @ Walnut Creek Amphitheater »8/9 Atlanta @ Lakewood Amphitheater »8/8 Raleigh, NC @ Walnut Creek Amphitheater »8/12 Phoenix @ Cricket Wireless Amphitheater »8/13 Los Angeles @ TBD »8/14 Irvine, CA @ Verizon Wireless Amphitheater »8/15 Concord, CA @ Sleep Train Pavilion »8/17 Vancouver @ GM Place »8/18 Edmonton, AB @ Rexall Place »8/20 Denver @ Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre »8/22 Houston @ Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion »8/23 Dallas @ Superpages.com Center Source : MTV NEWS

A really big rap tour is exactly what the game needs right now. A rep for Soulja Boy Tell'em told MTV News that the rapper will be joining Lil Wayne on tour this summer, along with Young Jeezy and Wayne's fast-rising protégé Drake. Sources in Wayne's camp told MTV News they are confident that a tour with at least some of the four players will happen. In May, Drake told MuchMusic about a similar tour that, at the time, was supposed to include Jay-Z. "God willing, if everything goes according to plan and everybody's schedule is in place, then I will be on tour with some amazing people," Drake said. "One of them being Jay-Z, one of them being Lil Wayne, one of them being Young Jeezy and one of them being me." Jay has lined up a tour this summer, with Ciara opening up some dates, that kicks off in Las Vegas on July 3. Thursday night from the Los Angeles Lakers game, Soulja Boy Tell'em announced the tour on Twitter. "TSA (Twitter Service Announcement) — I'm going on Tour with Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy & Drake this summer! Get ya tickets ASAP!!!!" he Tweeted. Dates for the tour are still being locked down. Drake has been working on Rihanna's next album as well as his proper debut album. Soulja Boy has been in the lab recording, as has Young Jeezy. Wayne told us on Sunday that his long-awaited Rebirth album is done. It's now scheduled for an August 18 release, although a new single has not been announced. "I wanted to grow, and show my growth as well," Wayne said after the MTV Movie Awards. "It's a difference from when you go in a room and come out and you're better and everyone says, 'How did you do that?' So with this album, I wanted everyone to see my growing pains." Wayne recently wrapped up his I Am Music Tour with T-Pain, Gym Class Heroes, Gorilla Zoe, Keyshia Cole and others.

Are Eminem and 50 Cent touring together this summer? For now, fans can only hope — MTV News' requests to label reps for comment had not been answered at press time — but according to G-Unit member Lloyd Banks, there's been preliminary talk about possibly ramping up the Anger Management Tour again. "I'm in and out the office, and there's conversations," Banks told MTV News recently. "I'm just as excited as the fans are. The first Anger Management Tour, I wasn't a part of." Banks said that if Em and 50 do go out, he'll definitely be on the show with the rest of G-Unit. Eminem was recently a guest on BBC's "Friday Night With Jonathan Ross," and he told the host that he hasn't solidified his touring plans yet. "As far as touring, I haven't got that far to really figure it out yet. I haven't got that part," he said. "I'm kinda in album cycle right now and promoting. But we'll see how it goes." Em has been back onstage in promotion of his new LP, Relapse, which officially drops Tuesday. He performed on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Friday, will rock the Kimmel stage again this week, and he announced a special free MySpace concert in Detroit on Tuesday night. Em's new DJ, acclaimed producer the Alchemist, told Mixtape Daily that he really gets a charge out of seeing Em do the Relapse record "Underground." "When I first heard [Relapse], that was the song I said, 'This is gonna shut mutha----ers up.' Straight up. It would not be an issue," Al said. "Nobody would be like, 'I didn't like this, I didn't like the flow.' ... When we perform that song, Em takes a spot on the stage, and that's it. He picks a spot and dumbs out. There's not a lot of moving. "When we're rehearing the song, you know, 'This is gonna be something crazy.' He says, 'Turn the lights down,' they put the spotlight on Em, and it's just snap rap. In the current day and age, you don't hear songs like that. It doesn't seem like any of that other sh-- going on in the world or in the music industry was going on in his mind when he [made the song]. He was strictly into the craft. I don't think anybody is f---ing with that."

Ciara and Jay-Z are planning to tour together this summer, although no dates have been confirmed, Ciara's rep told MTV News on Tuesday (May 12). "I will say it because the information has been leaked. Me and Jay-Z will be doing a 10-city tour run together! More details coming soon!" Ciara Tweeted on Monday night. However, a rep for Jay-Z told MTV News that the tour would not include 10 cities. Further details were not revealed. Billboard reported Tuesday that the dates will include stops at on July 3 and 4 at The Pearl at The Palms in Las Vegas, July 10 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut, and July 12 in Atlanta. In June, Ciara will support Britney Spears on the European leg of the "Circus" tour in June. Ciara, whose latest album Fantasy Ride was released last week, appeared on "Saturday Night Live" (with Justin Timberlake on keyboards) and David Letterman's show in the past few days. Last week, she told MTV News about filming the steamy video for her collaboration with Timberlake, "Love Sex Magic." "Let me tell you — it's so funny, I have to say this," she said. "I had to lick his ear and do all that fun stuff and bite it. And he had a moment where he was kind of licking on my neck. We were both going back and forth. We were really just freestyling. And Miss Diane [Martel, the director] wanted something edgy, and we all wanted to find a cool way to do it. And that just felt right. "It was really funny because you would have moments where she would go, 'What we're gonna do now is the licking and the kissing on the neck and we're gonna do this take, then cut. OK, we need one more take of that,' " Ciara continued. "And so it's licking on the neck, again, then his biting on my neck, again. It was really funny."
