21 Savage is no longer an independent artist after signing with Epic Records. The 24-year old Atlanta native's buzz has been building for quite some time, so it's understandable why Epic's CEO. L.A. Reid would want to add him to the label's roster.

During a Rap Radar Podcast interview on Wednesday, January 18, 21 talked about why he felt comfortable with Reid.

73791515?profile=original

L.A. Reid

"Because he's black," the "No Heart" rapper explained. "He’s probably the last black CEO. Why not? He’ll understand me before anyone else. I ain't wanna just sign on some straight business shit. I wanted to sign to somebody who gon' believe in me. Like, who gon' understand me."

73791477?profile=original

Back in October of 2016, there were rumors that 21 might sign to OVO Sound after Drake bought him a Ferrari for his birthday. That deal never materialized, but the two remain close.

"[Drake] don't gotta do nothing that he did. That's why I take that as deeper than the rap," 21 said of his relationship with Drizzy. "I been talking to him before Savage Mode. Before all this shit. So, it ain't like he just jumped on when I was hot. We been fucking with each other."

Chicago rapper Rico Recklezz recently sat down with Thisis50. As always he had a few controversial comments on deck.

Rico said he thought Kanye West was a "f*cking fool" for the things he does outside of music, including his recent Donald Trump visit. He also detailed his beef with 21 Savage and more.

Video After The Jump

Atlanta rapper 21 Savage and his Baton Rouge nemesis, 22 Savage, might have a way to settle their differences without anyone getting seriously hurt.

50 Cent just announced that he and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are working on adding a boxing match between the two to an event that will also see Chris Brown and Soulja Boy scrap for three rounds.

73791397?profile=original

"I just got off the phone with champ. So, I'ma give y'all an update," 50 says in a video uploaded to his Instagram account Friday, January 6. "We got a whole card now. We only had one fight. We had Chris Brown and Soulja Boy. Now we're trying to put together 21 Savage and 22 Savage. They gon' fight for the name. And then we're only gonna have one Savage."

73791454?profile=original

This beef was sparked when 22 Savage, who is also a comedian, thought it would be funny to copy 21's name.

Initially, 21 ignored the situation, but as 22 started to get serious about the rap game and gained some notoriety, things escalated into genuine animosity between the two.

73791471?profile=original

Kenyon Martin

Another fight being added to the card will pit Tim Thomas against Kenyon Martin. The friction between those two dates back to their playing days in the NBA, and an altercation that took place at a Dallas club in 2004.

Tim Thomas

In May of 2016 Thomas told CBS Radio that he would like to box Martin for charity. His wish has been granted.

Video After The Jump

When 22 Savage emerged on the rap scene most people assumed it was just someone trying to parody 21 Savage. After all, 21 was established and the Atlanta artist's career was solidified when he was named a 2016 XXL Freshman.

However, 22 hasn't gone away. In fact, the Baton Rouge comedian-turned-rapper has continued to release songs and videos.

21 and his homie No Plug initially ignored the situation, but as of late the two camps have been dissing each other.

12352475081?profile=original

22 sat down for a new interview with Say Cheese TV to give his side of the story.

Say Cheese: Last time we spoke you and 21 Savage didn't have a difference. Now it's 'fuck them, fuck this nigga, I'm coming to Baton Rouge, I'm doing this.' What sparked that off?

22: One of his homeboys had made a post with little tombstones. I guess they thought I wasn't a street nigga or something. I'm really a street nigga so i told the niggas to pull up. It went from there. Everybody made videos and shit.

Say Cheese: So, he put tombstones over your picture?

22: Yeah, and then No Plug had commented under what one of his homeboys said. He was like 'something, something, something,' so I told him to pull up.

Say Cheese: No Plug is a guy that's pretty known in the industry for the Bankroll Fresh situation. Do you know him personally?

22: No

Say Cheese: You told him pull up. And then what happened after that?

22: They got to making videos. I said what I had to say. And that was that.

Say Cheese: One thing that really shocked me was I never seen a situation where the whole city stood up for one guy. Why do you think B.R. stood up for you like that?

22. That Rouge gon' roll with that Rouge regardless

Say Cheese: No Plug said he was gonna come out here and shoot a music video. Was that his video or somebody he was cool with?

22. I don't know. It just don't matter who he come with.

Say Cheese: You also tweeted that 21 Savage hit up Worldstar and told them not to post any of your content. How did you feel about that when you found out about it?

22: I understand where he coming from 'cause my name 22. But it is what it is.

Say Cheese: So why 22, out of every rapper in the game?

22: It come from the comedy shit. At first it was a joke, until a nigga thought I was pussy. I ain't pussy at all.

Say Cheese: Why do you think people don't take you serious?

22: 'Cause my name 22. 21 ... 22, the whole concept is funny. People look at it as a joke. Now it's time to show 'em what it's really hitting for with me and the music. I'm raw with this shit.

Say Cheese: I did a interview with a few artists and they felt like you had to go to Atlanta for them to take you serious. If you gon' try to follow a artist's footsteps. His name and stuff like that ...

22: I didn't really try to follow him. i did it 'cause I knew what it was gon' do. I know how to cause controversy easy.

Say Cheese: Is the differences done with 21 Savage?

22: I can't say all that 'cause you don't never know how they thinking, so you'll never know how we thinking. They come to the Rouge on the dumb shit we gotta stand up and show a nigga.

Say Cheese: What if they come out here and they not fucking with nobody? They just shooting videos and shit like that. Is it cool or is it a no fly zone right now?

22: Right now, as far as what they said it's a no fly zone. I don't nothing else to say on that.

Video And Pics After The Jump

21 Savage has been very open about his desire to take Tyga's girlfriend, Kylier Jenner, away from him. That has led to a brewing beef between the rappers.

The beginning of this conflict dates back to July of 2015, when 21 boldly stated that Kylie would be his via Twitter.

12352459481?profile=original

"Kylie Jenner Gone Be Mine She Need A Real Savage," he tweeted.

Fast forward to November 21, when the 2016 XXL Freshman emcee tweeted out a photo of Kylie wearing nothing but a t-shirt. The pic was accompanied by several "lovely eyes" emojis.

TMZ caught up with 21 last week to ask him about his lust for the 19-year old reality television star.

"I'd tear that ass up," he told the cameraman

A snippet of a Tyga diss song appeared online Friday, December 2. It references 21 receiving a Ferrari from Drake for his 24th birthday last month.

12352460276?profile=original

"Why you got one car in a 12-car garage/ sucking dick for a Ferrari, make sure you lick the balls," T-Raww raps.

The "Rack City" hit maker also posted an Instagram photo of himself and Kylie with the caption quoting a line from the song "Imaginary Players" by Jay Z: "Selling records being you, but still you want to be me."

12352460866?profile=original

21 fired back by posting a Kylie photo on IG with the caption: "Shout out to my boss bitches wifing niggas."

12352460893?profile=original

Several threatening videos from the "No Heart" rapper also popped up online.

In one of the he raps:

“Eeny meeny miny mo, catch a rapper by the toe/ If he diss me I'ma buck, buck, buck!" he says while pointing a gun at the camera.

“You playing with the wrong one, fuckboy. I’m gonna kill your bitch-ass. Not lying, bitch. Straight up. I’ve got motherfucking money to get, bitches to fuck, pussy ass niggas to kill and now you on my list," 21 threatens in another video.

In a Twitter post Saturday morning, November 3, 21 indicated that some videos might be old.

"it ain't dat serious mf posting old ass videos this shit done went to far it was funny at first," he tweeted.

Despite that, the beef definitely appears to on.

Video After The Jump

There was a lot of head scratching going on when 21 Savage posted an Instagram photo of the Ferrari Drake gave him for his 24th birthday.

On the surface it seemed odd given that 21 and Meek Mill are homies. Also, Drake has only collaborated with the 24-year old rapper once, on the newly released song "Sneakin."

Maybe Drake is trying to sign 21 to his OVO Sound imprint?

TMZ recently caught up with 21 outside of a Los Angeles studio to get the scoop. He wasn't very forthcoming, but here's how the conversation went.

TMZ: Is this the ride Drake gave you? How do you like it, bro?

21 Savage: Who the hell you with? TMZ or something?

TMZ: Yeah, TMZ ... how do you like the ride?

21: It's cool

TMZ: A lot of fans wanna know, why would Drake give you such a baller gift?

21: You gotta ask him that

TMZ: Does this mean you might sign with his label?

21: Ask Drake

TMZ: Do you wanna sign with his label?

21: Ask Drake

TMZ: I know you collaborated with both him and Meek Mill. You think you can bring them together?

21: Them both my homies

Drake signing 21 Savage would be a major coupe. We'll keep our eye on it to see if there's anything there.

Would yo like to see Drizzy sign the 2016 XXL Freshman rapper?

12352411700?profile=original

Video After The Jump

21 Savage is best known for his gritty street tales, as heard on beloved cult mixtapes like last year's The Slaughter Tape and Slaughter King. In recent months, he's also become known for his meme-status dagger tattoo, inked on his forehead in memory of a fallen friend. But on "Feel It," the slow-burning, love-and-loyalty anthem taken from Savage Mode, this summer's collaborative project with Metro Boomin, 21 Savage is another man entirely. I'm a savage to these niggas but to her I'm gentle, he raps over a sedate beat, co-produced by Metro and Zaytoven. "I wrote something that street niggas can relate to. At the end of the day we all wanna go home to someone loyal," he told The FADER.

Today, 21 Savage & Metro Boomin are sharing a romantic video for the song, produced by The FADER and shot between East Atlanta's Zone 6 and on the city's south side. In the clip, it's love at first sight for the young rapper, who goes about winning a beautiful woman's affections after glimpsing her with another man. Soon, the pair is cuddling and cupcaking, as his love interest, played by Kat Amour, joins him on his usual endeavors of counting stacks of cash in bed and cruising through the city.

Watch the video above. And if you're in New York, check out Metro Boomin and 21 Savage live on November 4 at a special concert called Young Metro Don’t Trust Trump. All proceeds from the show will go towards a scholarship fund established by Metro to send a St. Louis student to Morehouse College every year.
