Nearly 12 years after a club shooting that left several people injured, Diddy has paid $850,000 to settle his share of a lawsuit brought by the victims according to the New York Post.

On December 27, 1999, Diddy was at a Manhattan nightclub with then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez and protege Shyne. During a dispute, Shyne pulled out a gun and began shooting inside the club.

Shyne was subsequently arrested and charged with and convicted of attempted murder, assault, and reckless endangerment. He was sentenced to ten years in prison.

Diddy, who was represented by Johnnie Cochran Jr., was acquitted of weapons possession and bribery charges. The jury also acquitted his bodyguard Anthony Jones of all charges.

Although cleared in the criminal case, Diddy and the nightclub still faced several civil suits from the three injured victims.

The most seriously injured victim, 40-year old Natania Reubenwas shot in the nose and suffered seizures because of seven bullet fragments still lodged in her face.

Natania Reuben

In June 2011, a settlement was reached. Reuben was paid $1.8 million. The two other victims were paid $500,000 and $50,000.

In October 2009, Shyne, who legally changed his name to Moses Michael Levi to reflect his conversion to being an Orthodox Jew, was released from prison after serving nine years. He was then deported back to his home country of Belize. The rapper had beefed with Diddy while he was incarcerated until they buried the hatchet earlier this year during Paris Fashion week.

12349513273?profile=original

Now the beef is back on. Upset that Diddy won't help him obtain a U.S. Visa, Shyne releases a diss track in August titled "You're Welcome" aimed at the Bad Boyboss.

In a new interview with WGIV Charlotte, Shyne claims he saved Jennifer Lopez and Diddy's lives on the night of the shooting in 1999.

"I wasn't thugging and bugging that night," Shyne says. "I was actually the best behaved because I don't drink and I don't smoke. But I'm from the streets so when it's time for my hammer to go off it goes off, and somebody was getting ready to pop [Diddy] head off. It might not had been no Jennifer Lopez movies if I didn't pull my ratchet and squeeze off."

When Vince Young entered the NFL out of the University of Texas he was thought to be a can't miss prospect. The quarterback was drafted third overall by the Tennessee Titans and signed a contract guaranteeing him $26 million.

Six years later he is dead broke and out of the NFL.

Where did things go wrong for Young? The fingers are pointing in all different directions.

The first mistake that Young made was becoming the first client of a company, 1 Next Level Sports and Entertainment Inc., formed by Major Adams, a Houston criminal defense attorney, and the quarterback's uncle, Keith Young, a former middle school teacher.

"He was just very young ... and allowing these people to have too much control over his life and his name," Trey Dolezal, Young's attorney told MSNBC.

Young is suing Adams, and a North Carolina financial planner, Ronnie Peoples, alleging that they misappropriated $5.5 million. In some cases, the pair allegedly forged his signature or impersonated him on the phone or in emails, according to the lawsuit, filed in Houston in June.

Adams denies the allegations.

"This is a person scrambling helplessly and pointing in all directions to blame others to get out of debt," said Charles Peckham, Adams' attorney.

Peckham admits that his client twice wrote checks to himself from Young's accounts, but "both times were out of necessity, including once when the agent was required to use personal funds to charter a plane for the quarterback after he missed a team flight."

Besides the $26 million that Young somehow spent, he is also in default on loan of $1.9 million dollars from Pro Player Funding LLC, that he took out during the NFL lockout in 2011.

Young is now attempting to stop Pro Player from enforcing a judgment of nearly $1.7 million. He claims that Adams and Peoples obtained the loan instead of him.

12349506654?profile=original

"They conspired to take Vince's money," Dolezal said. "It's that simple."

Young was attempting to make it as a backup quarterback for his third team, the Buffalo Bills this offseason when Pro Player began their attempts to collect the rest of the money they were owed, after Young missed a payment and the loan went into default.

Young blames Pro Player as the reason the Bills cut him.

"I wasn't in the room when they (the Bills) made a decision, but what would you think? It certainly wouldn't help me if I'm the owner or the head coach knowing all this is going on with Vince and then he goes out and plays poorly," Dolezal said.

12349506476?profile=original

Bills coach Chan Gailey declined to comment on the story.

Peoples has filed a countersuit in which he castigates Young for allowing his uncle to serve as his business manager despite having no expertise in that field.

Peoples claims in the countersuit that every decision he made was approved by Keith Young. And he calls Vince Young's unwillingness to accept responsibility "a common occurrence ... as (former Titans coach) Jeff Fisher, (Texas coach) Mack Brown, numerous NFL executives, coaches, teammates, scouts, girlfriends and illegitimate children will attest."

Peoples' attorney, David Chaumette, said he has documents to support the strongly-worded filing.

"You'll find there was a lot of money being spent in a bunch of different directions," Chaumette said.

PIEDRAS NEGRAS, Mexico — More than 130 inmates escaped through a tunnel from a prison in northern Mexico on Monday, setting off a massive search by police and soldiers in an area close to the U.S.border.

Authorities in Coahuila state said the 132 inmates fled the prison in Piedras Negras, a city across the border from Eagle Pass, Texas, through a tunnel that was 21 feet long and 4 feet in diameter, then cut their way through a chain link barrier and escaped onto a neighboring property.

12349501875?profile=original

Coahuila Attorney General Homero Ramos Gloriasaid the director and two other employees of the state prison have been detained for an investigation into the escape and are being questioned about possible involvement by authorities at the penitentiary. The prison houses about 730 inmates and the escape represented almost a fifth of its population.

12349502882?profile=original

The tunnel "was not made today. It had been there for months," Ramos told the Milenio TV station. "The prison was not overcrowded, none of our prisons are. We have 132 inmates escaping through a tunnel, and it doesn't make sense."

Authorities say they also found ropes and electric cables they believe were used in the break.

Federal police units and Mexican troops were deployed to search for the inmates and authorities in Coahuila state offered rewards of up to $15,000 for information leading to the arrests of each prisoner.

12349503076?profile=original

Ramos said 70 members of an elite military special forces unit had been sent to search for the prison along with federal police.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection said it was aware of the prison break and officials are in communication with Mexican law enforcement, according to an e-mailed statement.

Ramos said in a press conference that police are investigating a shootout 160 miles south of Piedras Negras after the prison break to determine if any of the four people killed were fugitives.

He said that 86 of the escaped inmates were serving sentences or pending trials for federal crimes, such as drug trafficking, and the rest faced state charges.

Other Mexican states have said in the past that they are not prepared to handle highly dangerous federal prisoners.

It was one of the larger prison breaks to hit Mexico's troubled penitentiary system in recent years.

In December 2010, 153 inmates escaped from a prison in the northern city of Nuevo Laredo, right across Laredo, Texas. Authorities charged 41 guards with aiding the inmates in that escape. Mexico's drug gangs frequently try to break their members out of prison.

12349503274?profile=original

Coahuila, where Monday's prison break took place, has seen a wave of violence tied to the brutal Zetas cartel's battles with the Sinaloa cartel, allies of the now weakened Gulf Cartel.

Authorities in Coahuila did not say which gang was believed to be behind the escape.

Last week, Gulf cartel leader Jorge Eduardo Costilla Sanchez was arrested, leading experts to anticipate an increase in violence in parts of northern Mexico as the Zetas Cartel attempted to take over turf.

In Piedras Negras, family members had gathered outside the prison to hear word of their loved ones.

For power couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West money is no object. On West's 35th birthday in June, Kardashian bought him a $750,000 rare Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4.

Kardashian turns 32 on October 21st and word is West is shelling out $1 million to make sure it's a perfect birthday for his reality star girlfriend.

Kim has been really down about turning 32 and having two failed marriages behind her and no children, so he wants to make this extra-special," a source tells The Sun UK. “Plus it’s her first birthday since they’ve been together as a couple. Kanye has never been shy of splashing out on the women he loves, but this time he’s pulling out all the stops with presents.”

West reportedly has set up a trip to Pine Cay, an 800-acre privately owned island in the Turks and Caicos group (just south of the Bahamas). There the couple will party with a group of friends for a special birthday celebration.

12349516497?profile=original

A chef from a five-star hotel will cook for them privately every night.

The Louis Vuitton Don is also spending a grip of money on designer gear for Kardashian, including a "made-to-order special edition Prada bag, lined in a “KK” print, a pink diamond bracelet and a couture Chanel dress."

It seems pretty extravagant, but West has professed his love for Kim in the song "Way Too Cold."

And I’ll admit, I had fell in love with Kim / Around the time she had fell in love with him / Well that’s cool, baby girl, do your thing / Lucky I ain’t had Jay drop him from the team," Ye rapped.

Kardashian seems to feel the same. She appeared on The View earlier this month where she spoke with Barbara Waltersabout her relationship with West.

12349517454?profile=original

"What about marriage? Do you want his child? Where are we?Walters asked Kardashian.

"Technically I'm still married," Kardashian said of her still-pending divorce from Kris Humphries. "Anything I'd be in now would be a permanent relationship." She added that she "thinks" West is her "perfect match."

"Is this the one that you're in now?" Walters asked. "I hope so," the reality star replied. "I believe so."

Written by Rob Markham (@RobMarkman) for MTV

Kanye West and his G.O.O.D. Music crew have finally released their first compilation album, and even though the title doesn't quite fit the season, Cruel Summer continues Kanye's quest to set a new standard for hip-hop.

Save for possibly Dr. Dre, who has tinkered with his still unreleased Detoxalbum for nearly a decade, no single artist in the genre is as meticulous in the studio as Yeezy. Needless to say, the bar for G.O.O.D. Music's Kanye-helmed Cruel Summeralbum is sky-high.

12349509489?profile=original

The 12-track LP, released on Tuesday (September 18), rounds up 'Ye's band of musical mercenaries. Big Sean, Pusha T, Common, Kid Cudi, Cyhi the Prynce and John Legend all make key contributions, while non-G.O.O.D. (but still great) artists like Jay-Z, 2 Chainz, Raekwon and Marsha Ambrosius appear as well. It's R. Kelly who steals the show on the first track, "To the World." The "I Believe I Can Fly" singer urges listeners to throw their middle fingers up in a surprisingly motivational tune, where he proclaims, "The whole world is a couch, bitch, I'm Rick James tonight," in a nod to Dave Chappelle's everlasting depiction of the legendary pop star.

12349510093?profile=original

As far as album openers go, "To the World" is a spotless first step, maybe too good, as it pushes the bar up another few notches before track two even begins. Though 'Ye's musical presence is felt throughout,Cruel Summer is unlike any of Yeezy's well-weaved solo affairs. The G.O.O.D. Music head honcho jumps on seven out of the 12 tracks, including previously heard songs "Mercy," "New God Flow," "Cold,""Clique" and Chief Keef's "I Don't Like"remix. In fact, if there is any knock against Cruel Summer it's that the LP provides few "new" moments, and we all know how much value 'Ye places on the wow-factor. It's certainly not uncommon for an artist to roll-out several tracks before an album's release, but after Kanye and Hov's leak-free Watch the Throne last year, hearing five out of Cruel Summer's 12 tracks prior to ripping off the CD's packaging robs fans of the discovery moments that they usually look to Kanye for.

That's not to say that the songs we've gotten beforehand aren't great. "Mercy" is still as catchy as ever and "Cold" is still a loud and boisterous banger. The Jay-Z-assisted "Clique," with its buzzing bass gets better with each listen even if the well-traveled "I Don't Like (Remix)" sounds like it would've been best left as a bonus cut.

12349510293?profile=original

The reggae-tinged "The Morning" brings together Raekwon, Pusha T, Common, Cyhi the Prynce, 2 Chainz, Kid Cudi, D'banj and Kanye for an unlikely get-money ode. "Higher" marks yet-another return of 1990's rap star Ma$e and "The One" is a sentimental rags-to-riches story. Cudi's solo track "Creepers" is just as good as the standouts off his 2009 Man on the Moon debut and John Legend and Teyana Taylor's "Bliss" is a quality R&B duet.

Cruel Summer shouldn't be confused with a Kanye West solo affair — this is no Dark Twistedfollow-up — but as compilations go, G.O.O.D.'s first shot is a strong one.

Do you think Cruel Summer was worth the wait? How would you rate it on a scale of 1-5, with 5 being excellent?
