A "predatory" young woman who posed as a teenage boy to sexually assault girls as young as 13 after grooming them online has been jailed for eight years.

Gemma Watts, 21, traveled across the UK in disguise by train to meet the girls, who believed she was their boyfriend and close to their own age.

She was sentenced at Winchester Crown Court on Friday after pleading guilty to seven sexual assault and grooming charges.

The offenses relate to four girls, including a 13-year-old from Hampshire and two 14-year-olds and a 16-year-old from Surrey, Plymouth and the West Midlands.

But police believe there could be up to 50 victims.

Watts was "adept at both manipulating people and the continuing subterfuge", prosecutor Barnaby Shaw told the court.

One of her teenage victims, in an impact statement read to the court, said her "heart exploded" and her "world stopped" when police revealed Watts' true identity to her.

She said she has self harmed and considered suicide since then and added: "She is in my head."

Watts, from Enfield in north London, tied her hair into a bun and wore a baseball cap, baggy tracksuit bottoms and a hoodie to convince the girls she was 16-year-old "Jake Waton".

Using her own picture on Jake's Snapchat and Instagram accounts, she targeted girls by liking their profiles.

From her mother's home, where she lived, she shared skateboarding videos, used teenage slang and flattered her victims with complimentary messages, calling them "babe" and other pet names.

She would exchange messages with them, including intimate photographs, using WhatsApp, Snapchat or text and speak over the phone before meeting in person.

Watts, once a promising soccer player, was so convincing she even spent time as Jake with some of the girls' parents.

All of her victims believed they were going out with a teenage boy until police revealed she was an adult woman.

Sentencing her, judge Susan Evans QC said: "There was, it seems to me, planning and in some way predatory behavior. Their age, as you plainly knew, made it more likely that they would be sexually naive, enabling you to get away with your deception.

SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. - A man visiting family for the holidays was hospitalized and jailed after a father found him partially naked in his children’s bedroom just days after Christmas, authorities say.

Officers say 60-year-old Mark Stanley of North Carolina is facing indecent liberties and domestic assault charges after the incident that was reported in the early morning hours of December 29, 2019.

Police say Stanley, who was staying with family on Luce Lane in Spotsylvania County, was naked from the waist down in the bedroom of two young children when he was discovered by the children’s father.

Stanley pushed the dad out of the bedroom and locked the door before the father forced his way inside and began beating him, investigators say.

Authorities say the father was holding a handgun and was approaching Stanley when they arrived on the scene. The dad dropped his weapon when he was told to do so by officers.

Stanley was hospitalized and then was taken to the Rappahannock Regional Jail where he remains with no bond. The children were taken to the hospital for evaluation. No charges were brought against the father.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The girlfriend of R. Kelly, Joycelyn Savage, has been charged with a misdemeanor after a fight at Trump Tower Wednesday with his other girlfriend, Azriel Clary.

Chicago police said they were called to Trump Tower Wednesday afternoon for a fight between two women in the residential part of the building.

Police said they were called to the building at 400-North Wabash at about 2 p.m. for a fight between two women.

Police said a 22-year-old woman and 24-year-old woman were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical when the 24-year-old struck the 22-year-old in the face.

The physical fight then continued until they were separated by someone else at the scene, police said.

The 22-year-old was taken to Northwestern Hospital with unknown injuries in good condition.

Police said Joycelyn Savage, 24, turned herself into police and has been charged with one misdemeanor count of domestic battery.

The fight occurred on Kelly's 53rd birthday. Kelly is held in a Chicago jail charged with sexually abusing underage girls.

CNN - A man who allegedly robbed a pharmacy in Philadelphia flashed a demand note that said he needed the money for his sick child, police said.

In video released by Philadelphia police, the suspect, wearing a grey hoodie and dark gloves, entered a Rite Aid store January 3 and took an item to the register.

The store clerk can be seen scanning the item and putting it in a plastic bag. Then, according to a police statement on the screen before the video is played, the man handed a note to the employee that read in part, "Give me all the money. I'm sorry, I have a sick child. You have 15 seconds."

The video shows the suspect reach into his pocket and lean over the counter before the clerk opened the register and put an undetermined amount of cash into the same plastic bag.

The suspect then stuffed the bag in his pockets and fled on foot, police said.

The man did not show a weapon to the clerk during the robbery, Philadelphia Police Officer Tanya Little told CNN.

Video After The Jump

Cops are at R. Kelly's pad in Chicago because his 2 girlfriends got into a brawl ... and it was all on camera.

TMZ has learned Chicago PD responded to a reported battery at Kelly's Trump Tower condo shortly after Azriel Clary and Joycelyn Savage came to blows. Azriel was on Instagram Live Wednesday afternoon as she appeared to be gathering her things to move out of the condo -- and when Joycelyn came in the room both women went off on each other.

Azriel said she was looking out for herself, and then threatened to send Joycelyn to jail for the very thing Kelly's facing ... having sex with a minor. Azriel claimed she was a minor when she had sex with Joycelyn -- perhaps in a threesome with Kelly -- and said she'd report Joycelyn to cops.

Obviously, that didn't sit well with Joycelyn. During the fight, there are at least 2 other people in the room. Azriel told people watching on IG ... R. Kelly's "been lying to you guys" and claimed he had her and Joycelyn lie for him too.

Police are still on the scene and, BTW, it's R. Kelly's 53rd birthday today. No cake, but plenty of fireworks.

**UPDATE**

We've learned Azriel has been taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. Kelly's attorney, Steve Greenberg, doesn't seem to be sweating Azriel's allegations of underage sex ... telling us, "I have a statement written by Azriel that she provided to me, voluntarily, after Robert was already in jail, that said she never had sex with him when she was under aged."

He continues, "As far as this little cat fight, it is clear that it was staged to try and boost social media popularity."

VERO BEACH, Fla. (WPEC) -- A Florida woman wasn't loving it when she was arrested on New Years Day because she couldn't get her desired dipping sauces, according to the Indian River County Sheriffs office.

Maguire Marie McLaughlin,19, of Vero Beach, was arrested after threatening to rob a McDonald's at the corner of 20th street and 58th avenue in Vero Beach.

According to the police report, after getting her food, McLaughlin requested extra dipping sauce with her order. The employee told McLaughlin that extra dipping sauces were 25 cents, at which point an argument ensued.

McLaughlin further stated that she will be getting the sauce by whatever means necessary. However, she didn't specify what she meant by that, according to the report.

McLaughlin allegedly was yelling profanities at several employees stating that she would "rob" the establishment if she didn't get her dipping sauce.

McLaughlin was taken into custody for disorderly conduct. She needed to be placed into mechanical restraints by the arresting officers because she kept “locking her legs, refusing to walk forward," according to the report.

She was transported to the Indian River County Jail for processing.
