Video After The Jump

STAR talks the beauty of the new film 12-Years A Slave, the Twitter feud between Lord Jamar and Yelawolf, the classic TV miniseries Roots and the upcoming Christmas day Hate-A-Thon.

Radio legend Troi Torain (STAR) always delivers hard-hitting objective truth. As a culture critic he is vicious, as a businessman he is relentless, as a luminary he is un-matched.

12350019290?profile=original

Considered a radio pioneer by many, STAR has set precedents on the urban landscape and was recently inducted into News One's "Top 20 Black Radio Jockeys Of All Time."

STAR & BUC WILD made the national stage on MTV (1999) but it was their radio show on New York's Hot 97 and Power 105 (2000 - 2006) that secured their place in Hip-Hop history.

Torain's resume includes The Source magazine, MTV Networks, Hot 97, Power 104.1, Power 105.1, Pulse 87, Hip-Hop Weekly magazine, Vladtv, Thisis50, 100.3 The Beat, shot97.com and VH1 (The Gossip Game).

This clip is from STAR's LIVE show (12noon -- 2pm) on http://shot97.com.

Lloyd Banks delivered the goods with his F.N.O. (Failure's No Option) mixtape. The project is 16 tracks deep and all are top notch. The G-Unit emcee really understands what his fans want and gives it them whether it's an album, mixtape or feature.

A fan favorite off of F.N.O. is the Sean Anderson-produced gem "House Pride."

GUNITmulti put together a dope fan made video for the track. We thought you guys would enjoy it.

Chief Keef is headed for sunny California to check into a rehab facility for his weed addiction. As we previously reported, a Chicago judge sentenced the 18-year old rapper, real name Keith Cozart, to 90 days of rehab in the Cook County Department of Corrections on Wednesday (November 6) because of multiple failed drug tests.

However, it now appears Keef's lawyer was able to convince the judge that his client would receive better treatment for his addiction at a California facility.

TMZ reports that Keef left the Chicago jail this afternoon. He's expected to arrive in L.A. either Saturday or Sunday to begin treatment.

Eminem continues to do amazing things on the charts. The Shady Records CEO has 4 songs off of The Marshall Mathers LP 2 currently in the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 list. He becomes the first lead artist since The Beatles landed 6 in the top 20 in 1964 to accomplish that feat.

The four singles are "The Monster" (No. 3), "Berzerk" (No. 15), "Survival" (No. 16) and "Rap God" (No. 17).

12350436675?profile=original

"The Monster" is also No. 1 on the Hot Hip-Hop/R&B list, giving the rapper his first ever chart topper in that category.

50 Cent, T-Pain, Ludacris and Lil Wayne have had four songs in the top 20 at the same time as well, but some of those hits were as featured artists.

It's been two years since legendary rapper/producer/actor Heavy D passed away. He was one of the artists who helped to put Hip Hop on the map, as both a member of Heavy D & the Boyz and as a solo artist.

Hot 97's DJ Mister Cee remembers Heavy with a special mix. Listen to it up top and have a toast to the late, great Dwight Myers.

Whoever thought we would hear R. Kelly, Pharrell Williams and Bruno Mars on the same track? The trio link up to remix Bruno's hit song "Gorilla" and the results are wonderful. You'll probably be hearing this a lot on the radio.

The original version is on Mars' Unorthodox Jukebox album, available now on iTunes https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/unorthodox-jukebox/id581806371.

An Instagram account aimed at "exposing rats" has outed more than 30 witnesses to violent crimes in Philadelphia since February.

The user, Rats215, posted witness names, photos, police statements and testimony, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer

12350441891?profile=original

Authorities found out about the account last week when an officer monitoring Twitter spotted photos of a witness and court records from an attempted shooting last year. Instagram was notified and the account was shut down Thursday (November 7).

At the time the account was closed it had nearly 7900 followers. Many of them encouraging Rats215 to continue publishing information designed to intimidate witnesses. It was updated almost daily. At least 150 photos were being shared on the account.

"Post some new rats," one follower wrote in September. "I needa put a hit out on them."

Another user showed admiration for drug kingpin Kaboni Savage, who received the death penalty in June for murdering 12 people. In 2004 Kaboni firebombed the North Philadelphia home of government informant Eugene Coleman, killing his family, which included 2 women and four children.

Rats215 warned witnesses in that same post that "we will get you in time."

Police have no idea how Rats215 got all of the information that was posted. They have obtained several search warrants to find out the account holder's identity.

An unexplained fire burned through Eminen's childhood home in Detroit Thursday (November 7). The house is located on Dresden Street, just south of 8 Mile Road.

According to CBS Detroit, fire crews responded to the blaze Thursday evening. The second floor of the house sustained damage.

The home is the cover of Eminem's new album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2.

Eminem's mom, Deborah Mathers, was listed as the owner in the late 80's. Since then the home has changed hands several times. One owner attempted to sell it on eBay for $500,000, but received no offers.

Most recently it failed to sell for $500 at the Wayne County Treasurer’s Office auction. It's currently owned by Michigan Land Bank.
